Two shows have taken place, 20 acts have become ten and the stage is set for the grand final. Depi Evratesil 2018 has been full of surprises. The drama came in the first semi-final as Wiwi Jury favourite Tamar Kaprelian crashed out. The second semi-final promised to be a bloodbath but the big favourites survived. Now ten must become one.

In 2017 Artsvik brought a dramatic performance to Kyiv after winning the inaugural edition of Depi Evratesil. This year, the artists are competing with their own songs. There is a lot of variety in the grand final — Armenia has ten talented artists and three languages to choose from. The line-up includes everything from drag queens to balladeers.

Asmik Shiroyan and Sevak Khanagyan are two of the big favourites still in the mix. Asmik isn’t the only Depi Evratesil returnee — both Gevorg Harutyunyan and Amaliya Margaryan are also returning artists. They will all have to get past Mger Armenia, the self-proclaimed “winner” of Depi Evratesil, as well as the equally confident Kamil.

The grand final will take place on Sunday 25 February at 21:40 local time (that’s 17:40 GMT or 18:40 CET). Only one artist can represent Armenia in Lisbon and we want to know who you think it should be.

Listen to the ten finalists and vote for your favourite in our poll. As always, you can vote for as many acts as you like, but you can only vote once — so make it count!

Who should win the grand final of Armenia’s Depi Evratesil 2018?

My personal favourites here are “I’m a Liar” and “Qami”. If I had to pick one, I’d prefer to see “Qami” in Lisbon!

Theres many performances i enjoy in the final but i really would like to have something fun but still sounding great in the Eurovision, so my choice is Kamil Show.

Other greats are Lusine Mardanyan, Gevorg Harutyunyan, Sevak Khanagyan, but well, no need to be always so serious? Let’s have some great fun! Kamil’s back vocals are enjoyable great and his stage performance with others is hilarious!

P.S.
Armenian Public Television with it’s inappropriate technical problems kills all the singers performing in this selection. Finalists must demand to fix that problems or just to prerecord their performances and to correct that issues!

Mger Armenia and his the only real fan Fisrt lady gonna win proving one more time that we are not ready for such national selection and we need to change a lot of things in this country. I think it is decided and 1st semi final, Mger’s abysmal song’s presenence in this selection prvoves that we are going to repeat our 2011’s experiance. Sevak Khanagyan and Nemra are the most solid entries we can afford this year and they are the ones who are able to bring better results for Armenia (taking into account the performances). No doubt we are… Read more »

311 votes to Kamil Show at this point. So ridiculous that there are people voting for it. The only reason I find is that those 311 votes come from Tamar’s dissapointed voters.

I agree! I loved the Kamil Show’s studio version and had no idea how would the live be, never heard about Kamil Show before. I liked Tamar too as studio version but i liked Kamil Show much more on live than Tamar. So Kamil Show it will be 😉

Asmik has to win<3 Hilarious people calling her a bad singer. have you seen any of her performances on depi evratesil last year? have you heard her incredible audition on the voice of ukraine that has 7m views? There was sound issues, not her fault. She will slay it on sunday<3 Sevak isnt too bad either

Either Sevak or Amaliya, people who are voting for Asmik are deaf! Her performance was horrible, and I don’t want joke entries like Kamill at eurovision IT’S 2018 PEOPLE!! WE’VE ALL MOVED ON!!

god, anyone except KAMIL (I don´t hate the artist, I hate the character), please, god, I HATE joke entries, I just hate them! they are stupid and pointless, I want quality and good lyrics (Fance, Italy, Germany), not a joke. Joke entries had their place in the early 2000s – 2010, the past is the past, and those are the worst years in the ESC history by miles, ESC is (finally) becoming a quality contest once again, please Armenia, Don’t mess this up. If that “song” wins I wholeheartedly whope you Don’t reach the final, thank good the Jury will… Read more »

It sounds like a graveside singers’ competition is what you want the Eurovision to become. By the way, what quality do you see in Germany’s act (an Ed Sheeran ripoff in every way) or in my country Italy’s (two creepy men with the stage and vocal presence of a vacuum cleaner)? Even though I dislike Kamil’s act, the Eurovision is also entertainment and fun.

Yes, I am more into intimist ballads but that doesn’t mean I don’t like uplifting songs, for example, I would have loved “Lo malo” in ESC. However, there is a different between having a fun-uplifting song and a joke act, I think joke are an insult to music, to the Eurovision SONG contest and to the artists who take part in the contest, who have worked really hard to bring some quality to they eurovision and they see how this jokes entries pass to the finals and get points. HATE THEM. May I remind you that this is the Eurovision… Read more »

Asmik suffered technical problems, too for clear reasons. She has to go through the same he’ll not to be an obstacle on Mger’s victory. We must oppose to this.

I, on the other hand, cannot understand voting for Kamil. If an excellent Armenian selection ends up with Puerto Rico as the end result, what a waste of time it all would have been.

I just can’t understand how you crazy lot can like such a dreadful mess that is Kamil Show and his song! We don’t need shameful things like that on Eurovision, just so everyone can say that is just a joke! To be a decent joke entry, it should be fun, but no, this is just cringeworthy! Sevak and Amaliya had the best performances last night and are the ones who truly deserve to win, if Armenia wants a good result in May, they have to send one of them!

I voted for my current top 3:
1. Mariam
2. Sevak Khanagyan
3. Lusine Mardanyan

I just hope they won’t pick Kamil show – although since Armenia is in the second half of the semi-final, it would be an excelent time for a toilet break.

@LoveWave – no it’s not. The subject may be similar, but Amaliya’s song is very modern and melodic compared to the Georgian entry

Also, let’s add that Keep the Faith is more energetic and borderline aggressive, while Amaliya’s song is very gentle and optimistic.
