krajowe eliminacje 2018 poll

Back at the start of February, we learned the ten acts competing in Poland’s Krajowe Eliminacje 2018. We’ve been waiting to hear all ten songs ever since. But today, with the release of Marta Galuszweka’s “Why Don’t We Go”, we finally have a full house!

The ten acts will all compete in Krajowe Eliminacje next weekend, on March 3. The winner will go on to represent Poland at Eurovision, following in the footsteps of Michal Szpak and Kasia Mos.

As always, Polish Eurovision fans are definitely excited by their selection. Amongst those competing this year are Isabell Otrebus, returning after finishing fourth in last year’s selection.

Marta Galuszewka was coached on The Voice by Poland’s 2016 star, Michal Szpak. There’s also plenty of hype surrounding Gromee feat. Lukas Meijer, with their song “Light Me Up”.

Gromee and Lukas have already had success in 2017 with their collaboration, “Without You”. Could they do the same in Krajowe Eliminacje?

But of course, it’s now up to you to decide who your favourite is. With all ten entries out, you can now vote in our poll. You’ll find links to all ten songs below:

Krajowe Eliminacje 2018 — Finalists

  1. Saszan – “Nie chce ciebie mniej”
  2. Monika Urlik – “Momentum
  3. Isabell Otrebus – “Delirium”
  4. Ifi Ude – “Love is Stronger”
  5. Future Folk – “Krakowiacy i górale
  6. Gromee feat. Lukas Meijer – “Light Me Up”
  7. Marta Galuszewska – “Why Don’t We Go”
  8. Pablosson – “Sunflower”
  9. Maja Hyzy – “Skin”
  10. Happy Prince – “Don’t Let Go”

Those are your ten options: now it’s time to make a decision! As always in our polls, you can vote for as many of the acts as you like. But there’s only one chance to vote, so double check those votes y’all!

[polldaddy poll=9945539]

We’ll reveal the results prior to the Krajowe Eliminacje 2018 final on March 3. Make sure to let us know in the comments section who your favourite is too!

Mmmm, some good songs for Poland this year, very high standard I think. My personal favourite being ‘ Don’t Let Go’.

This is TOP 3:
Light me up
Love is stronger
Delirium

I just don’t know the order

Still a lot is in jury hands, which can be tricky…

My choice: light me up: I hope they will have good stage performance 🙂

I get the impression that people who prefer their usual professional chart-music get their kicks from Gromee and/or Otrebus, while people that look for something different might like Ifi or Happy Prince. Normally i tend to the latter, but even though i like “Love Is Stronger” and “Don’t Let Go”, i don’t love them (yet – hopefully this will change with the live performance). Saszan falls somewhat inbetween and i voted for her – don’t know why really, if it was about the look and polish vocals i’d also root for Maja …

“Nie chce ciebie mniej”: Sounds modern. It’s radio friendly. “Momentum“: It’s a power ballad by a great vocalist. A bit flat however. The voice does all the work. “Delirium”: The word “delirium” sticks in your head and makes it memorable. Just an ok song. “Love is Stronger”: I like the production as well as the voices. The song itself seems messy and the lyrics are simple. “Krakowiacy i górale“: This sounds traditional. It’s fine. “Light Me Up”: I really like this one. Nice melody, love the chorus and the beat. “Why Don’t We Go”: Modern sound. Up-beat. Too many sounds… Read more »

Great vocalist Poland has a year ago and two years ago – I hope so this will make different choice and will pick one of this : Gromee (as first ) or Ifi or Isabell , but no Mementum, as thats sad ballad and doesnt work very well , as next ballad from one country…….

My top 5:
1. Happy Prince – “Don’t Let Go”
2. Ifi Ude – “Love is Stronger”
3. Maja Hyzy – “Skin”
4. Gromee feat. Lukas Meijer – “Light Me Up”
5. Monika Urlik – “Momentum”

Overall a good selection – I’ll watch the final (it helps that I understand polish at least a tiny bit).

You know, two years in a row they postponed the announcement of the finalists of Krajowe Eliminacje. There’s apparently just too many entries. There should’ve been at least 7 decent songs then. And in the end, again, they present us this crap selection. Only Two songs that are worth talking about. At this point I have grown too attached to Delirium, but from what I see Gromee seems to be the next Michal Szpak. He has a gigantic fanbase that will vote for him. If that is the case then sadly I see the first non qualifier in 5 years.… Read more »

I’m with Colin on this one. (No surprise there). There are three or four that could do well nationally, but there isn’t a “Flashlight” or a “Cool me down” that would guarantee Poland a qualification for the ESC final. At least not yet (revamps and live sensations might be yet to come).
There is potential for some creative staging here too. It might be a good national final to watch.
(Although, if I’m honest, I do miss Kasia Mos.)

I have completely different opinion – this year is better than previosu as w can listening in polish elimination quite various songs and new sounds – so we have big possibility Poland will not send this year ballad , but other type of song – what is very good message – as in previous years we had ballads and always listened Poland send ballad again……-(however it was so happy to have Kasia and Michal in previous years !) So I see this year will be different and I hope this will bring better luck !

I don’t like Delirium at all!
I think Gromee ft Lukas has a current sound and will get high televotes which can make Poland reach final!
Why don’t we go and momentum are decent!
Love is stronger is unique
Song in polish is better than the last year’s one!

However none of them gripped me like voiceless or Only human did last year.

I usually avoid writing my first impressions, as my opinion can change after a few times of listening to a song. Thus, I hope there are growers in this list, cause after I listened to them all, I realized that 3 songs are good (but nowhere near as great as some of the already chosen entries that are wonderful), 4 songs are reasonably enjoyable, but don’t make a big impact, 1 song that has a nice beat, but is repetitive to the point of annoying, 1 song that is weak and dated and 1 song that is so incredibly bad… Read more »

Supposing it works live, “Love is Stronger” would be the obvious choice for me. It’s not awesome, but it’s the one that sounds like people making music and not record labels making money.

I also like Sazsan’s song. Maybe because it’s in polish, so at least it brings something different to my ears. “Delirium”, “Light Me Up” and “Skin” are all decent but it’s difficult to tell which is the most generic (“Light Me Up”, probably, by a nose). Marta’s song isn’t original either, but I really like her voice, so she would be my 3rd option.

Most people in Poland stopped caring about Isabell after announcement of the participating songs. I guess the winner will be either Gal/uszewska or Gromee, with the possibility of another unexpected televote-topper like Carmell last year.

This year’s selection is so much worse than the previous year. To be completely honest, I don’t understand the hype around any of these songs. “Delirium” is just another bland, soulless, unoriginal radio-friendly song that you listen only to kill the silence. Same applies to “Light Me Up”. I was curious about the folk song, but “Krakowiacy i górale” sounds like a poor, unfunny joke entry. Most of the songs sound like a copy-paste of your typical, radio songs you won’t remember 15 minutes later. Horrible. I’d say two most “original” songs here are “Love Is Stronger” and “Don’t Let… Read more »

To be fair, all of those songs, bar the folky one, are far more current that the two dated pieces of crêpe Poland has chosen in the last two years. Maybe they are too radio oriented, but Eurovision also has to have some of that. It’s about variety, after all.

Very good national final Poland. My favourite is “Love Is Stronger”, it reminds me of a mix of Grimes and Björk, two of my favourite artists. The songs by Isabell, Saszan, and Marta are also really good. Don’t get the hype over “Light Me Up”, it’s radio friendly but very boring and expected.
