The number of acts has been halved. The favourites have firmed up their position. And on March 4 ten acts will take to the stage for the final of Estonia’s national selection, Eesti Laul 2018, hoping to represent the Baltic nation in Lisbon during the Eurovision Song Contest 2018.

In Tallinn the pyros will flare, emotions will run high and by the end of the night Koit and Laura’s heir will been named. Now we want to know who you think should win the final of Eesti Laul 2018.

Perhaps you want to see Elina Nechayeva’s operatic efforts rewarded? Or maybe you still hold out hope for Eurovision 2015 act Stig Rästa? Or it could be you’ve your eye on newcomer Nika?

Whoever you’re rooting for, we want to hear about it, so let your voice be heard in the poll. You can watch all the performances from the semi-finals below, but beware, you can only vote once so make it count! We’ll reveal the result ahead of the final this Saturday.

WHO SHOULD WIN THE FINAL OF EESTI LAUL 2018?

1 Karl Kristjan & Karl Killing feat. Wateva “Young”

2 Eliis Pärna & Gerli Padar “Sky”

3 Nika “Knock Knock”

4 Sibyl Vane “Thousand Words”

5 Stig Rästa “Home”

6 Vajé “Laura (Walk with Me)”

7 Elina Nechayeva “La Forza”

8 Frankie Animal “(Can’t Keep Calling) Misty”

9 Iiris & Agoh “Drop That Boogie”

10 Evestus “Welcome to My World”

[polldaddy poll=9947237]

You’ll be able to watch the final of Eesti Laul 2018 live from 18:30CET through ERR, or our partners Delfi.

Last year, Koit Toome & Laura overcame performing second in the running order to win the entire competition and placing 6th with the international jury in the final. Unfortunately they couldn’t overcome the odds in Kyiv, where the duo became the second Estonian act in a row to fail to qualify and miss out on a place at the Grand Final. ERR will be keen to avoid a third year in the Eurovision wilderness.

I like most NIKA’s song but i see it different way in my mind than NIKA sings it. I’d like to have more delicate singing. I like also Frankie Animal but i feel it might be too boring for ESC. Vaje could be also interesting choice if they just could get the live stage performance and singing anything near the official music video’s atmosphere and quality. Safest choise is however Elina, La Forza. Not my favorite, there’s things in the song and her voice which i don’t like so much but i think Estonia will get the highest points with… Read more »

You just play “La Forza” card, estonians. Not a song for everybody, but has some winner flavor. I think it is a wrap for top 10.

Get ready to carry with the favoritism.

The fact that some people compare “La Forza” with Sweden 2009, France 2011 and Romania 2013 is beyond me. Let’s be real here: Sweden 2009 was trash, no wonder it did poorly. And c’mon it was 2009, comparing “La Forza” with this nearly decade old song is ridiculous, time has changed, the musical quality and taste is different now. France 2011 was ok, but live was underwhelming. The song felt too serious and didn’t have the “oompf” factor to be strong. Romania 2013 was interesting and it was kinda guilty pleasure. It was confusing whether it was serious or not.… Read more »

Il Volo is much better than La forza, no emotions in La forza, just academic singing.

How can you put opera singer to compete in same league with pop singers? If this wins, what we will have next year? Death metal?

My favourites are Drop That Boogie and Místy. La Forza is really weak and bland for my taste – not even Elina’s great vocals can improve the song for me and trust me that I tried to like that song.

La Forza is a safe pick. Excellent vocalist. The song itself I’m not so keen on, though. The jury probably won’t rank it 1st in ESC, but the fact that it’s even a possibility means that Estonia’s got something here.

I don’t get the hype about “La forza” – and generally, Estonia being so high with the bookies. Sweden had a similar song (to me even much better), delivered just perfectly, and even with it being Sweden, it ended up bottom five in the finals.

I’m still not aboard this Elina hype. Her song is something we have all heard millions of times before, and tbh I wouldn’t be so sure that she will win Eesti Laul. I feel like Vajé have got this in the bag. They have the most YouTube views and their song is much more Eurovision friendly. I wouldn’t be surprised if fan-wank Elina get’s overthrown like Margaret in Poland. Plus their song is just great, it would instantly be my favorite to win (there really is not competition this year, all the songs are so weak)!!! I wonder how Laura… Read more »

Unlike other fan favourites, Elina has a lot of domestic support. Besides, while the jury might not all give her top points, her vocals alone means they will not sabotage her.

I’m 95% certain that La Forza will win. Having said that, this is a great final, and Eesti Laul songs still fill my personal playlist the most out of all the national selections. I like all 10 of these songs. I ADORE “Misty”, but they’ve got themselves into hot water with a family member being in the jury, so I understand. That was a beginner’s mistake. Stig Rasta probably has a 5% chance of winning, but I also wouldn’t mind if any of the others won – they are all fantastic musicians. Estonia is a place gifted with wonderful talent.… Read more »

So here’s how people in Estonia think/feel about these finalists: Karl Kristjan & Karl Killing feat. Wateva- It’s a meh, not that bad but nothing special. We’ve heard these songs so many times. The performance was underwhelming. Most likely reached to the finals thanks to the jury and teenage girls. Eliis Pärna & Gerli Padar- The performance was quite sweet, but song is boring. They can sing, their voices are nice, it’s just the song that isn’t going anywhere. Nika- People like her, the song is edgy and cool. She’s ambitious (in a good way). She’s like a 3rd- 4th-ish… Read more »

Even though it seems obvious La Forza is going to win, don’t count Stig Rasta out. He has a huge fan base and Eurovision experience. Plus, some jurors may be put off by opera. Juries have never really warmed to opera that much. I personally would like Stig to go to Lisbon.

Is this still a real question?
Personally, I am already done with “La Forza”, it really is more about the singer and less about the song, which I do not care for. However, I certainly enjoy her live performances and most voters will hear her at Eurovision for the first time, so they won’t be tired of the song yet.

La forza by far, Im already taking for granted its going to Lisbon …I think it would deserve at least top 5 in Portugal. Having said that Im just hoping nothing unexpected happens like it has in recent years.

Elina Netšajeva: La Forza! It’s a song that could win this Eurovision, or at least end-up in top 10. I am positive that the juries will pick it unanimously, but the only potential problem is what if Estonian public decides it’s time for Stig/Gerli/whoever to get their moment at ESC (again), like they did with Laura and Koit.

My secondary options would be Knock Knock and Misty.

Aaron

It’s between La Forza and Knock Knock for me, La Forza is in another league. If it goes to ESC I think for many it will go straight to their top 3 if not their top. There isn’t much competition, I’m curious to find out who else will round off the Superfinal. Estonia, don’t be stupid and end up like Poland 2016 dropping severely in the odds for not picking the best song.

Not a fan of ”La Forza”, but it is definitely going to the final (not sure about the end result, but it may be top 10, even top 5)
