Eurovision 2018 Top 21 Favourites

What a week it’s been! When we wrapped up our last poll on Tuesday, we left you with 12 official confirmed acts for Eurovision 2018. Now, less than seven days later, that number has almost doubled. As of the morning of Monday 26 February, we have 21 named acts and songs for Lisbon.

It all began with Serbia’s revived Beovizija on Tuesday. Then on Thursday Germany rolled out its revamped selection model.

Super Saturday lived up to its “super” moniker as five countries chose their representatives for next May’s contest — Moldova, Ukraine, Hungary, Slovenia and Latvia.

Finally, national selections in Armenia and Romania brought the weekend to a close.

Checking the Eurovision calendar, it looks like the next few days should offer us some respite. So it’s the perfect time to vote for your favourites.

You can listen to all nine new entries below. Then vote in our poll. Choose wisely, you can only vote ONE time. Voting ends at 23:59 CET on Thursday 1 March — just before Cyprus and the Netherlands reveal their entries on Friday.

Serbia: Sanja Ilic & Balkanika “Nova deca”

Germany: Michael Schulte “You Let Me Walk Alone”

Moldova: DoReDos “My Lucky Day”

Ukraine: Mélovin “Under The Ladder”

Hungary: AWS “Viszlát nyár”

Slovenia: Lea Sirk “Hvala, ne!”

Latvia: Laura Rizzotto “Funny Girl”

Armenia: Sevak Khanagyan “Qami”

Romania: The Humans “Goodbye”

I’m a Chinese Eurovision fan. I love Albania best. Albania released the song first and I love the song very much. After so many countries releasing their songs, I still love Albania best.
For the French audition, I think the song ‘Eva’ and ‘My World’ are the best but ‘Mercy’ is also good, especially its lyrics.
For Sanremo, l love Annalisa and The Kolors best but Fabrizio and Ermal are great too.
This year’s Eurovision has a lot of songs sung in the singer’s mother tongue, and I love these songs very much.

I cant say who is better for me. A lot of good songs, but sometimes I cant remember faces and there are songs that are similar to each other. Do you know what I remember most? France, the Czech Republic, Vikings from Denmark and a mysterious guy from Ukraine. But this is not my top, just interesting performers

I voted for UK and Malta and Denmark, these are the three I am listening to most, and would also vote for Monsters for Finland if it gets chosen. Just personal preference, (which I believe is still allowed) but I cannot stand Czech Republic!!!!! (prepares to be shot down in blaze of angry comments!!!!!)

3. Czech republic
4. Malta
5. Germany
6. Switzerland
7. Serbia
8. Greece

Oh, come on! It´s the same thing every year! The Spanish fans always think their song is so good and will win, and they keep being in the bottom. I am almost willing to bet a million Euros, that this will happen again this year.
I find the song boring and it reminds me of a high school concert..

I desagree with you. Spain song it’s so beautiful and has a lot of emotions in the perfomance and the lyrics. If you make an effort to search the lyrics you will see the meaning of all that they say. I hope you do it and you realise that is a possible winner for eurovision 2018.

It wouldn’t be the first or the last time a ballad or a slow song wins Eurovision. What happened last year? Oh, yes. That was a slow song! Did you forget? But, lemme tell you little bit more. Guess what? Amaia and Alfred are in love, what makes the song and the whole performance 10000000 times more intense. And you still believe they don’t have chances to win? Spain is TRULY going to nail it this year. Fear us bitches! España ha llegado?

I like slovenia, it’s very interesting and it has good vibe, I’m impressed by Lea’s style and her story, they said they gonna change the lyrics in English and Portugal and then decide wich one is best, I mean it’s not the best song but with a little work and a little more singing this could be a masterpiece!!!!! GOOD LUCK S LOVE NIJA

Thank goodness someone things the same I mean slovenia is so loooow just because is small and that’s exactly what Lea told us in interviews “I’m gonna try my best for the great performance and of course to make slovenia proud but we are small country so don’t expect high entry” and that is just true

From looking at polls, YT videos, twitter posts and general articles, the three to watch currently are GREECE, FRANCE and UKRAINE currently with CZ as an outsider for top 5/10 (which would be an amazing result).

Personally GREECE is the only impressive entry/winner material at the moment.

I just translated the lyrics of the italian song.
I think it is a great message.
I read that it was inspired by a letter from a father who lost his wife in the Bataclan’s terroristic attack.
I am not Italian, but living in Italy, so I will surely tell my friends back home to vote for them, since I can’t!

12 points to Greece, from Romania. Michael Schulte tries to copy Ed Sheeran, Italy’s entry, overrated, exactly like “Occidentali’s Karma”, France also overrated, Mikolas Josef’s “Lie To Me” sounds familiar to me, nothing original about it. The rest, I stopped listening somewhere in the middle. Didn’t keep me interested enough.

The do not cheat in terms of number of votes (because you can only vote once), it’s just that there are a lot of their (Meta/Moro) fans here in Italy that found out about this poll and they think that voting here this song it’s a way to support both the song and the artists. Don’t tell me that Spanish/ French ecc. fans didn’t do the same! That’s why these polls aren’t really reliable, because fans vote for their favourites that quite often are from their country.

I’m surprised that Hungary hasn’t had a bigger impact on the poll.
Spain (currently leading) is a sweet song, but is it really a clear winner?
This year is so open so far. I feel like the door is being held wide open for Bulgaria, Russia, Azerbaijan, Israel or even Australia to walk through and claim the prize.

Nope. My country is not a clear winner at all, not even for top 10 by now, whatever this poll says. To soon to value what will Spain offer (as every year, just compare national final vs grand final performances)

I think Estonia will be the favorite when “La Forza” wins Eesti Laul, followed by “Lie To Me”. Kinda slow song vs fast song probably “the big debate” until we start to see glimpses of final performances.

I still dont know who will win for me). There are a lot of good songs, almost everyone liked it. But some countries repeat from year to year, and singers look the same.
I like the Czech Republic. (moderately “sweet,” a stylish song, funny Mykolas), I like France (song for the soul) I like Ukraine (the guy is unusual, the song is simple, but gradually begins to like, and his charisma is amazing) I like Denmark (soundtrack to game or movie) DONT LIKE Moldova. “Greetings since 1998”.

Quick thoughts about the new songs:
Romania: unexpected. The song is nice to listen to, but I forget it afterwards.
Latvia: same as Romania.
Slovenia: such meme potential ^^. Nice to hear some rapping in Slovenian!
Ukraine: very nice radio-friendly song. I like it.
Moldova: sounds like something out of Eurovision 2005.
Armenia: very good song, I love the language, Sevak sings it so well.
Hungary: they’re true to their style but the song is very melodic and can appeal to a lot of people that aren’t fans of the genre. Congratulations!

Latvia’s entry is by far my favourite so far. I love it even more every time I listen to it! It sounds just like a song from a James Bond movie and although it’s not my style of music particularly I just love it a lot! Can’t remember, I believe I sometimes stumbled into Wikipedia and always ended up knowing about the Contest at least in name. Then I got into a Skyscrapercity forum, where a lot of people follow Eurovision, so there was the Eurovision thread, there I watched a clip of the voting sequence in Stockholm 2016, then I watched the whole show. I was hooked. That was on March 2017, so my first Eurovision live (from YouTube) was Kyiv 2017, so technically this is my first Eurovision season! Greetings. 🙂
