Gromee and Lukas Meijer should win Polands Krajowe Eliminacje 2018

Since their return to Eurovision in 2014, Poland has yet to fail to qualify for the grand final. But with only one top 10 performance during that period, they’ll hope to find an act in tonight’s Krajowe Eliminacje 2018 that will take Poland back to the top.

Ten acts will be fighting tonight to win the Lisbon ticket. But which one is our reader’s favourite to win? We asked y’all to vote in our poll and after counting a huge amount of 5,538 votes, we can now reveal that Gromee and Lukas Meijer are your favourites to win tonight’s Krajowe Eliminacje 2018.

Their song “Light Me Up” managed 1,999 votes, around 36% of the total cast. They’re ready to bring the beat and win the whole thing!

Gromee feat. Lukas Meijer – “Light Me Up”

Not that far behind, Ifi Ude secured second place with 1,282 votes (23% of the total cast). The Nigerian-born singer offers a more alternative and electronic proposal that seems to appeal our global audience. From avant-pop rhythms to instrumental beats, “Love is Stronger” seems to be a potential contender that can’t be dismissed.

Her self-written piece – produced by Brtish artists Polly Scattergood and Glenn Kerrigan – also features her African roots, turning her composition into a really diverse and fresh option.

Rounding out the top three is Isabell Otrebus and her upbeat “Delirium”.  After finishing fourth in last year’s selection, Isabell returns this year managing 1,075 votes and 19% of the total cast in our poll.

Born and raised in Sweden to Polish immigrants, Isabell participated in both Swedish Idol and Poland’s Got Talent, spreading her talent across both countries. The young singer also gave her first live performance of “Delirium” at a NYE concert in Poland last month. Now, she’s back to the contest and as Kasia Mos returned to win, will Isabell be able to do the same?

Last year your predictions were gold. Kasia Mos was your favourite to win and she slayed on her way to victory. And on 2016 y’all chose Margaret, Edyta Gorniak and Michal Szpak as your top three in our poll – and all three finished in the top three in the national final.

Poll results: who should win Poland’s Krajowe Eliminacje 2018?

Krajowe Eliminacje 2018  starts at 21:30 CET, live from Warsaw. Kasia Mos will return tonight to perform once more, but also will act as a jury member. And joining her in performing as a guest artist is Måns Zelmerlow, along with Polish band Blue Café (ESC 2004). The winner will be selected equally by a professional jury of five members and televote.

You can watch the event live tonight on TVP’s live stream.

Who should represent Poland in Lisbon? Are Gromee and Lukas Meijer your favourites or is it Ifi Ude’s opportunity to shine in Lisbon? And listening to all ten acts, do you think will Poland hit five years in a row qualifying to the Grand Final? Tell us in the comments section below!

Or maybe the song is just good?

The vocals and stage performance just now, however…
what a shame. Delirium had potential…

Her vocals were quite bad. The negative surprise of the night.

Yeah, she was quite weak in live. As soon as she performed, the dead silence from the audience and facial expressions of the jury were an obvious indication she was out.

All entries in this selection are dreadfully weak, let’s be real here, all would struggle in ESC. Gromee and maybe Ifi Ude (if revamped professionaly) are the only ones that would stand even a slight chance to qualify from the semi, the rest are all pure non-qualifiers.

Thank you so much. It starts quite late, so I might be able to watch the end of it. 🙂

Yeah…Either one of them should win imo. But ”Love is stronger” would need a major revamp. The song is veeery cool and promising for like the 1st Minute and 30 seconds, but then it’s getting really repetitive. You can’t just fill half of the song with the same lyrics repeated over and over again.

Weird. Although I would be totally fine with Light Me Up winning, out of the songs here I can’t at all remember what it sounds like (along with Skin and Momentum).

If he doesn’t sing “Brother oh Brother”, I want a refund of the licence fee.

I agree with places one and two. Just not that awful tune written by one of those “songwriter teams” that are trolling national finals all around Europe, hoping to finally get a break. Or are there two of them in this selection?
