The finishing line is almost upon us as we entered the home stretch of Lithuania’s national selection marathon “Eurovizijos” dainu konkurso nacionaline atranka, or simply Eurovizijos atranka 2018.

A total of 50 participants made it to the competition before Erica Jennings pulled out and was replaced. After four heats, two quarter-final shows and two semi-finals, just six finalists remain. Ieva Zasimauskaite, Jurgis Bruzga, Kotryna Juodzeviciute, Monika Marija, Paula and The Roop will sing it out in the grand final on March 11 to become Lithuania’s Eurovision 2018 representative.

But who should win the final? You can listen to all of the songs below and have your say by voting in our poll. You can vote for as many songs as you like, but you can only vote once, so choose wisely! We’ll close the poll on March 10, just ahead of the grand final.

Ieva Zasimauskaite – “When We’re Old”

Jurgis Bruzga – “4Love”

Kotryna Juodzeviciute – “That Girl”

Monika Marija – “The Truth”

Paula – “1 2 3”

The Roop – “Yes, I Do”

Who should win the final of Lithuania’s Eurovizijos atranka 2018?

From these finalists, Ieva is my favorite, Paula good second option. However, my real favorities are already out from the final: Rugile Daujotaite, GeraoGerai ir Silvija Pankunaite, Natalja Chareckaja. Godo would have been great too to be in the final. 🙂

Will you make a video- ” who should win Lithuania’s Eurovizijos atranka 2018″???

Lithuanians who want to send Ieva think that it’s possible to win Eurovision by playing with people’s feelings. Just because Portugal won Eurovision with a ballad doesn’t mean you will! A SONG SIMILAR TO PREVIOUS YEAR’S WINNER DOESN’T DO WELL IN THE EUROVISION. If you people think Ieva would do well in the Eurovision then you’re freaking delusional.

“A SONG SIMILAR TO PREVIOUS YEAR’S WINNER DOESN’T DO WELL IN THE EUROVISION”

Please, explain 1944 and Amar pelos dois, then? Two emotional songs in a row! Sure, they are not THAT similar, but neither are APD and When We’re Old.

The song itself is a victory over the running time, such message a song sends. Is it so important to win Eurovision?

The thing is Lithuania is not like Portugal or Ukraine. They can’t send ballads. Remember when they sent Sasha Son in 2009 with a ballad? that song was even better than Ieva’s and even he didn’t make it to the final…

Sasha Son’s song was uninteresting, boring. You are a Lithuanian, because only Lithuanians do not understand music?

Sasha’s song was not boring, Ieva’s song is. You can’t even imagine how much I know about music. If Ieva goes to the Eurovision remember these words: Lithuania won’t qualify.

How can you people prefer Ieva over Kotryna?
Ieva is so amateur compared to Kotryna. I mean she’s a professional vocalist. She performs really well live. She hits space high notes. The song is catchy. I mean what more do you need? Kotryna is freaking amazing!

Does anyone know which version Paula will be singing in the final?

It’s weird because in the video of her last performance she says things like “this is what I wanted the song to be like in the first place”, so it would be a good assumption that she’s gonna continue with the slower version. But all of her videos on YouTube and other places only have the original, uptempo version, so I really hope she’s gonna go back to that one! 🙂

There are some polls on major Lithuanian websites, where Paula asks which version of the song do Lithuanians prefer. So I think she will look to results, which version is more appealing to the wider audience and then she will sing that one. In fact, that new version didn’t get much televotes (Paula was only 5th in televoting last Saturday), so there is more possiblity that she will return to that previous version.

Since “Saul?s kliošas” is out, I no longer care who will win. From those who have stayed, I can only listen to Ieva. Jurgis is too much Sweden2017, Paula is so much overrated and all other are just meh

Lithuania is one of those countries where following the national selection gets too much. It’s overall just too much agony and too little entertainment and/or good song material. However, I am of course hoping for a decent entry from them. My favorite song they ever sent is “Love Or Leave” by 4Fun. Unfortunately, their performance was anything but fun.

Paula has the best song but not the acoustic version. This is meant to be a Swedepop Zara Larsson-esque song and the new version doesn’t fit it at all. Monika Marija and Kotryna are both okay, while I don’t like the others at all. Ieva will easily win though with her boring song which I don’t see qualifying to the final in May.

The Roop definitely, but he should cut the swish theatricality. It’s good that he is confident, but this swishing up and down the stage is embarassing. Very modern sound though.

Ieva is a good second. It’s good at the beginning when it’s very intimate but please no tear-jerker images of old couples on the background!

What the Hell happened to 1 2 3????
That was an easy winner of the NF in my eyes and now it’s a completely different song and I don’t think it needed to happen, especially when most of Paula’s catalogue is more danceable pop and now her song just seems to be about the guitar and showing off her voice. It kinda took all the charm out of the song and Paula’s performance suffers as well
a real shame

The juries kept trying to bury her so she changed it to an acoustic song to appease them.

It’s going to be Ieva, I suppose it’s the best Lithuania can do this year. Jurgis is a bit creep, he makes me cringe and his voice is weak. My top:

1. Ieva Zasimauskaite – “When We’re Old”
2. The Roop – “Yes, I Do”
—-
3. Paula – “1 2 3”
—-
4. Monika Marija – “The Truth”
5. Kotryna Juodzeviciute – “That Girl”
6. Jurgis Bruzga – “4Love”

It’s curious I had to make this top from worst to average. Bad sign Lithuania.

I love the Lithuanian selection every year because it’s always such a massive train wreck. My top 2 are Monika and Paula (but if Paula’s song has changed like people are saying then I won’t be much of a fan.) Send in Monika with that…. carpet triangle she first wore and I will love it. None of them have any hope of reaching the final though, even with carpet triangles.

Take some positivity pills, Polegend. When you’re energized about an entry, I’m all onboard, but when you bring negative energy in you suck all the fun out of things. You have a right to a negative opinion, but it often feels like you make people feel bad about liking a song (it’s happened to me a few times, and it’s hurt my feelings).
