Twenty-eight songs. Four semi-finals. And now 12 finalists. Next Saturday at the final of Melodifestivalen 2018, Sweden will decide who succeeds Robin Bengtsson and becomes its act for the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Portugal in May. Eight acts qualified direct from their semi-finals, four survived duels at Andra Chansen and now all twelve have a shot of winning the final. So we want to know who you think that should be.

Maybe you think Mariette’s time has arrived? Or perhaps you prefer Benjamin Ingrosso and his light display? Or could it be the case that Felix Sandman is your favourite to win now that he’s flying solo (and with that very large microphone)? Whichever one of the terrific twelve is your favourite we want to know!

You can vote for as many of the twelve finalists as you like in the poll below, but beware, you can only vote once so make your vote count! We’ll reveal the results before the acts take to the stage at Friends Arena on March 10.

Who should win the final of Melodifestivalen 2018?

1. Mendez with “Everyday”

2. Renaida with “All The Feels”

3. Martin Almgren with “A Bitter Lullaby”

4. John Lundvik with “My Turn”

5. Jessica Andersson with “Party Voice”

6. LIAMOO with “Last Breath”

7. Samir and Viktor with “Shuffla”

8. Mariette with “For You”

9. Felix Sandman with “Every Single Day”

10. Margaret with “In My Cabana”

11. Benjamin Ingrosso with “Dance You Off”

12. Rolandz with “Fuldans”

[polldaddy poll=9951687]

Voting in the final of Melodifestivalen 2018 will be split between international juries and televoting. International juries will reveal their votes first and then televoting results will be added to the jury scores to give a final result. Last year Robin Bengtsson won the jury vote but, failed to win the televote.

Felix Sandman or Samir & Viktor to win please. Just not Benjamin… It’s too manufactured for me and nothing special. Also it would be the fourth year in a row a young-ish male won with an overrated song.

In the swedish Spotifychart Felix is best today anyway, then Mendesz followed by Samir och Viktor. Then Benjamin.

If Benjamin wins, it will be sth similar to last year. Good looking guy with a pop song and a cool staging. If Felix wins, it wil be sth like Frans in 2016.
Personally, I like both Benjamin and Felix. I also like John as well as Samir and Victor.
I think all 4 can qualify.

I’ve listened to the song for first time. My favs: Rolandz – “Fuldans” and Felix Sandman – “Every Single Day”.
And I would like Samir & Viktor – “Shuffla” if it wasn’t paste copy “Papa Americano” XD
And I really surprised with Melodifestivalen. It’s known for being smth greatest national selection. But in reality it’s meh. The only great thing is stage. Songs are meh. Either dated or clishe or bad vocals. We had better national final for sure.

It’d be funny if Margaret won bc Sweden would be sending a Pole and Poland would be sending a Swede.

In my opinion, Felix Sandman should. He has a beautiful song and the one I like the most, and his acting when singing is great. Sincerely, most of other songs have just empty insubstantial lyrics for me.

3. For you

My favourite is Felix Sandman’s “Every Single Day”. Renaida’s song is good, but becames a bit repetitive. Mariette’s “For you” was engaging at the beggining, but then… meh. And “Fuldans” is, well, very silvery. The rest seems so alike, I can’t seem to differentiate. Go Sweeden!

I am pretty sure Benjamin will win, the pretty boy with a boring song. Should be S&V with Shuffla for the win, if only they could make up a cute little dance to go with it, create a hype, it´s too messy and incoherent now!

I personally prefer Margaret, John Lundvik, Martin Almgren and Mendez (although he’s been quite bad live). Based on what I think will actually win it’s Benjamin Ingrosso or Samir & Viktor. But considering how the Swedes can be sometimes… I would not even be surprised if Rolandz win. XD

Ok, I’ve calmed down and went somewhere else to watch all the videos and I have to say, it’s not gonna be an easy choice. I’d say 10 of the 12 are great. But how on earth are you all gonna choose a song from this group? Every song represents a different style of music. You have Pop, Country, Rap, Scat, Dance, Lounge, etc. etc. I am flabbergasted by the diversity of songs. Congrats to the winner, but in my book, there all winners.

I dont understand how people can claim that MF was bad this year. I have so many favourites this year. This will be a year when no one will know who will win until the very end I think. Almost every other year MF has been more or less predictable… With one or two songs in strong contention.. This year at least 6-7 songs can win! People complain about MF every year. And every year MG has high ratings and every song charts in the Swedidh charts… I think Felix, Benjamin or Mariette will win.. But I can also see… Read more »

I agree with you worst MF from 2002. Sweden will always be in final, thanks to overrated points by juries. If they have 1 points from televote in semi, they will get 100 to 150 from juries.

There are already so many winners in this field. Mendez: The icon of the 2002 rebirth of MelFest comes back after 15 years, not knowing how the Swedish public would react. Many former heroes have fallen from grace on the Mello stage. Not so Mendez. Renaida: The standard Swedish Idol reject narrative. Sweet nonetheless. Martin Almgren: An exceedingly rare case of an all female writing team in a MelFest final. Except for a boatload of songs from Ingela Pling, the only other one which comes to my mind is “Why Am I Crying” from 2012. The interval acts this year… Read more »

Yes, basically “folkkär” means someone has attained a high level of acceptance by the people. One needs to be charismatic, competent, and credible, as well as sincere, affable, and unpretentious.

For me it’s Felix. His song is much better than FO&O last year, it’s building nicely and the melody of the chorus stays in my head.
I’m very unimpressed by Benjamin, he’s good but I find the song so flat and there are so much backing vocals that I can’t hear his voice in the chorus. Good luck to everyone anyway.

Jonas

I’m not at all sure who the winner will be, though on balance I think it will probably be Benjamin. The juries will fall for the slick staging, the cute boy and forget that the song is not so hot. I doubt he will top the televote, I can even see two or three others beating him there. A week out, I predict a repeat of last year – despite the slight changes to the system, the juries will be the decider and be totally at odds with what the Swedish public actually want.

I would say this feels like a bunch of Melfest rejects – but it is Melfest…

As I said on earlier occasions, the only thing left for Benjamin Ingrosso is to lift the trophy. Another year without Sweden among my favourites. Samir & Viktor would change that easily, but they aren’t exactly what Bjorkman likes to send…

I’m not loving all these Despacito/Havana “inspired” songs in the national selections this year, but I have to say Cabana in my banana is growing on me. Margaret is surprisingly charismatic as a performer and her voice stands out. Personally I’d like to see Shuffla in Lisbon – Sweden, take one for the team!

I think Benjamin and Mariette would both have a good chance for a Top 5 finish. Mariette definitely needs to switch up the awkward choreo and change the outfit, though.

If Margaret wins (I know, unlikely, but you never know), it would be an interesting parallel with Jessika, who tried out for Malta many times before representing San Marino. Margaret, singer of a fan-favorite Cool Me Down, singing for Sweden, would be another example of international exchange. And if Latvians could vote for a Brazilian artist, don’t tell me it’s impossible.
