Eurovision 2018 Top 32

National final season is rapidly drawing to a close and the songs just keep on coming.

When we wrapped up our last poll on Friday, we left you with 21 official confirmed acts for Eurovision 2018. Now, mere days later, that number has exploded. As of the evening of Tuesday 6 March, we have 32 named acts and songs for Lisbon.

It all began with song reveals from Cyprus and the Netherlands on Friday. Then in the penultimate Super Saturday of the year,  five countries chose their representatives for next May’s contest — FinlandEstoniaSan MarinoIceland and Poland.

Azerbaijan dropped in the early hours of Sunday morning, while Portugal chose in the evening. Monday brought us Belgium (after a leak the night before). And finally, today we got Croatia.

Checking the Eurovision calendar, it looks like we have a couple of days to breathe before the next song lands. So it’s the perfect time to vote for your favourites.

You can listen to all eleven new entries below. Then vote in our poll. Choose wisely, you can only vote ONE time. Voting ends at 23:59 CET on Thursday 8 March — just before Austria reveals its entry on Friday.

For the purposes of this poll, we are only including entries which have been officially released and or confirmed by the powers that be — you can’t vote for any leaked songs which are only available through unofficial channels.

Cyprus: Eleni Foureira “Fuego”

The Netherlands: Waylon “Outlaw in ‘Em”

Finland: Saara Aalto “Monsters”

Estonia: Elina Nechayeva “La Forza”

San Marino: Jessika feat. Jenifer Brening “Who We Are”

Iceland: Ari Ólafsson “Our Choice”

Poland: Gromee feat. Lukas Meijer “Light Me Up”

Azerbaijan: Aisel “X My Heart”

Portugal: Cláudia Pascoal “O Jardim”

Belgium: Sennek “A Matter of Time”

Croatia: Franka Batelic “Crazy”

Nice ballad but nothing special.) Australia: lyrics- 1; vocals- 2; music- 2; video- 1; (Too much Demi Lovato. Cliche song lyrics. The music and the video are much alike SuRie’s… Read more »

Wiwibloggs should review its poll system.
For the moment the most correct ones are Escstats (already open) and Eurovisioon.ee (it only opens while all songs are out).

But I am a huge fan of EscNation’s poll. It’s all divided in country-based IPs. It distributes votes based on ESC-style douze-points. And they have an interactive scoreboard. *esc-gasming*
I remember I used to spend hours online on this when I was a teenager back in the mid 00’s.

Yeah, maybe Wiwibloggs voting system is not the best but I just checked the polls you mentioned. They don’t seem to have made more accurate predictions than Wiwipoll.
It’s maybe because those other polls don’t appeal a wide audience as Wiwibloggs do, who knows?

About Melovin leading the poll, it’s not very fair to share the poll with his fans but I get it if he felt like he could use some support after the broadcaster drama. Also, as far as I understand he’s not back by a giant label that promotes his song. I guess a little motivation would do good for him.
But still it’s not cool. I hope we could have polls based on only organic reactions but we never had those. It would only make sense if every single artist shares the poll in their fan pages.

I mean people who are here in their own right. Also don’t underestimate Wiwi regulars. It says the world’s most read independent Eurovision web site and it’s probably true. The readers here reflect wider demographics than on any other web site. Of course, it can’t give 100% accuracy but it might give a good estimate of the real results, if no one messes with the poll.

It’s interesting to notice that the top 10 songs on this poll are all either from Semi 1, or from the Big 5 (except for Poland). It’s really sad that some great songs from Semi 1 will fail to qualify and some weak ones from Semi 2 will be in the final.

Belgium might pull a Salvador and win the contest altogether though. Sennek can play the “so much different from the others” card. And it is not ESC-generic material neither (like Finland, *pukes*).
But anyways I’m not allowed to vote for my own country, so I am rooting for Albania ever since. Out of this year’s mediocre bunch, it is the only song that musically makes sense. Has a clear & stuctured melody, mind-boggling chorus and amazing live vocals. Will be a jury winner for sure.
