She shared the stage with Sporty Spice at Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu 2018 and will fly the flag for Finland at Eurovision in May. But before that, Saara Aalto will headline a concert in London.
The Finnish star revealed the news across her social media channels after teasing a forthcoming “UK announcement”.
I’m bursting with excitement to share this news! ??? Tomorrow at 9AM I have a big announcement for you all ? pic.twitter.com/xPFAz1KZpz
— Saara Aalto (@saaraaalto) March 13, 2018
Saara will perform songs from her new album for the first time, share some “Eurovision surprises” and be joined by special guests on the night. Given that she recently nabbed Mel C, we’re keen to see who she draws to her event this time.
Tickets go on sale Friday 16 March at 10am through AEGPresents. The concert is titled “Eurovision Wonderland”, so it seems like Saara superfans can expect her to perform tracks taken from Eurovision and her national final appearances too.
Announcing the news on Instagram, the “Monsters” star gushed, “I’m SO excited for this!”

Serious Saara Aalto fans will be aware London isn’t the only tour date the star has scheduled.
Earlier this month, Saara revealed a 16-date tour of Finland, which will take place later this year. Stops include Helsinki, Tampere and Turka.
She will also open for revived UK popgroup Steps on their summer tour of the UK. She’ll appear at four dates across the country.
SAARA AALTO’S ROAD TO EUROVISION
Saara was selected to represent Finland back in November 2017, but her song “Monsters” was only selected a few weeks ago.
In a change to the norm, this year’s Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu only involved Saara and acted as a selection to decide which song she should sing.
Saara has yet to confirm any appearances at preview parties including Eurovision In Concert and The London Eurovision Party.
In recent years Finnish acts including Norma John and Krista Siegfrids have appeared at Eurovision Preview Parties across the continent.
Finish broadcaster YLE will hope they can make it to the Grand Final this year, after three non-qualifications in a row.
Bought VIP and in 1st row
And Russia?
They should send a invite to Yuliya, people shouldn’t condemn her because she’s Russian. What happened in Salisbury was not her fault but, the fault of her government. I don’t want to see any UK ESC fans or ESC fans in general to attack her for her country’s BS. Eurovision is a time to come together and celebrate our cultural differences through music and togetherness and not a time point blame at each other. I really hope Yuliya is able to perform in London but, I think it’s highly unlikely due to the on going crisis and the PO’d Russians… Read more »
Fellow Brit here!
I honestly don’t care about her government, Yulia is my 5th place her story is inspirational. Period
lol
I doubt any other country will be there. Its her promo party
Jose Mourinho to Arsenal! I will be his assistant! It will be new, british Real Madrid! New colors will be white and red, because red is ManU and Liverpool. We must be different and better. This will be the new capital of the world. Polish singer Margaret thinks that the two most important countries in Europe are Norway and Sweden. But this is only about Europe. Football is about whole world. Let’s create a new Real Madrid in London. Real Madrid is white, Arsenal FC will be white and red as Poland. I’m from Poland of course. New outfits will… Read more »
Interesting all the “winner” hype is gone, and the odds are getting lower day after day.
The competition is very open, but I don’t think Finland has a chance of winning ESC.
At this moment, I believe the candidates are Israel, Estonia, Czech Republic, France, Italy, Netherlands, Poland and Austria. I’d also add my personal choices, Albania and Armenia, but I don’t think Tirana or Yerevan 2019 could happen.
It’s nice to see someone give a shout out to Albania. I really like it.
she is using eurovision name to sell tickets.. nice
Meoooow. I love this
I’m pretty sure it’s Turku, not Turka.
At this point, she reminds me very much of Silvia Night. Only Silvia Night knew she was a joke entry and performed like that on purpose.
How can you compare the Icelandic comedienne to a talented singer, who has sang with Bocelli?
There’s nothing common with her and SN!
Katkera?
boring….lol
Saara is not happening.
Saarabloggs. You really DESERVE to not be read.
Sucks to be an Obsessed Saara Hater!
I think Saarabloggs (the way it’s pronounced in Finnish) would be an awesome name, though.
Proud one. 😉
Rory- stop being dull and let people have some fun. Go watch the news or snooker or something…
Anyone know of the prices of the tickets
Here they are. http://underthebridge.co.uk/events/saara-aalto-eurovision-wonderland/
Thanks Angus, for the article.
I have just visited the AEGPresents website and found this: https://www.aegpresents.co.uk/events/detail/saara-aaalto
She needs such a private action to practice and refine her weak act
What a fun idea! Have your own Eurovision party as well! Well, why not?
