Shalom! Wiwibloggs is on the ground in Israel for the new Eurovision Pre-Party on the block: Israel Calling 2018. Twenty-five acts from the Eurovision Song Contest touched down in Tel Aviv on Sunday and haven’t stopped since. Together with wiwibloggers Deban, Ron and Edd they’re exploring the state of Israel, werking the red carpet and will round out their trip with a performance at Tel Aviv’s Rabin Square tomorrow night.

Israel Calling 2018 is the third edition of the pre-party, conceived by Tali Eshkoli (who Melodifestivalen fans will recognise as the Israeli spokesperson), and organised in conjunction with the Israel’s Tourism and Foreign Ministries.

And while the acts are busy warming up for their performance, wiwibloggs has been busier interviewing them and interacting across social media.

Up first was Israel’s Eurovision hopeful Netta. If the bookies have anything to say about it, she’ll be the one lifting the trophy on the night of May 12 in Lisbon.

Wiwiblogger Deban sat down with Netta, where she spoke about watching fan reactions to “Toy” and how she hopes her participation in Eurovision will empower other women.

We also caught up with Belgium’s chanteuse Sennek, who will sing “A Matter of Time” in semi-final 1. Over a glass of wine, she talked us through her song, her fears about how people would react to her song, and her forthcoming promotional tour of Europe.

FYR Macedonia’s Eye Cue also found time to give us an interview. In the clip they spoke about the selection process for Eurovision, the challenges of flitting between genres and tempos on “Lost and Found”, and their thoughts on surviving the “semi-final of death”.

There’s even more action over on our Instagram page, where among other things, wiwiblogger Deban shares a welcome drink with Australia’s Eurovision star Jessica Mauboy.

Seems everyone has a great time!
I want to thank you wiwibloggs once again, because you make me feel like I’m here while I’m not. I’m enjoying this too, despite being miles away. Keep up the good work!

Israel, Macedonia and Belgium had bad live performances (huge mess).
France sounds good live, but I don’t like the song.
It seems Albania and Italy have the best songs/vocals

Oh dear, Netta is a nice girl but her performance was just a huge mess! That did not sound like the winning song at all.

GOSH here we go again …
No one cares for you that is for sure ! Stop insulting people and calling them racist as you are just a pathetic angry little boy who cannot have an adult conversation.
I’m happy that Wiwibloggs deleted all your comments (with all your fake names) on that other page which proves your negativity.
We don’t want you here is that clear ?!?

I don’t hate Netta song but sometimes I wonder if it was a man singing her song and saying “you stupid girl” would be ppl react so so happily like they do to Netta or would the song be slammed because that happens a lot these days

No I was just pointing out how In common day ppl would ignore the lyrics if a man said you stupid girl in a song like this xD but I do see her song as an empowerment she might even get my vote if her staging is good on the night

Oh, then let’s take Sennek’s wine and Ermal’s cigarettes away. And let’s ban Benjamin Ingrosso from posting about pasta… I heard pasta can be very unhealthy. Jeeeesus… this is Eurovision, not let’s-find-an-idol-for-the-kids-of-Europe-and-beyond.

In history, during hard times (war, slavery, poverty) a body like Netta’s proved to be the most fitted to survive.
”Survival of the fittest” like Charles Darwin said, Netta is the one that can do it.

Why many black women from US have big hips/legs and are famous for being…like Oprah (no offence, all good intentions). Because this type survived during slavery.

”Famous doesn’t mean healthy”

I’m not saying Oprah is healthy because is famous. It was just an example. I can say Michelle Obama or Queen Latifah. Is an example, nothing to do with fame.

They were not slaved, but this is the DNA that survived during generations. What you don’t understand? You have diplomas, but you can’t understand a conversation.

And YOU are the exactly the problem Netta talks about in interviews, thanks for proving her point.

No. You know what’s important for a happy and healthy life? BEING KIND. Health isn’t only physical health, but also mental health. People like you are the reason why more and more people suffer from mental illnesses such as depression, anxiety and eating disorders. You don’t even know Netta and yet believe that you are in a position to judge her health and criticise her body? Please, reconsider your statements.

Sal

Firstly, you can be perfectly healthy without that kind of body – the type you describe is the media and society’s ideal, not the ideal of health professionals.
Secondly, do you actually really care that much about the health of other people or are you just using it as an excuse to judge other people’s bodies?

As a doctor you should also know that in general does not apply to individual cases. So unless you are Netta’s personal physician and/or are privy to her personal health status you cannot comment on her health and should abstain from such comments.
Sorry to be so catty but you brought up your profession to give your arguments more weight and that was not very professional of you in my opinion.
