When the sun sets, the stars come out. And the same held true during the red carpet event at Israel Calling 2018 on Sunday.

Wiwibloggers Deban, Edd and Ron were on hand to snap all of the action. Our Instagram nearly blew up as y’all scrolled through all the fabulous looks, adding plenty of heart-eye emojis for the singers on show.

In our video below you can see some of the highlights. From ladies in white (San Marino and the UK) to men in black (Armenia, Switzerland, France) to those keeping it casual (Czech Republic and Austria), it was a carousel of colour that you just have to take in…

Among the leggiest ladies of the night was Azerbaijan’s Aisel, who once again nailed it with the fashion stakes.

The “X My Heart” singer slipped into a glittering dress with pleated skirt and a neckline that plunged toward her stunning décolletage.

She cinched her ensemble at the waist with a black belt, helping to define her hourglass figure.

A top trend in Tel Aviv this year was layering, with stars adding intrigue and interest to their looks by piling on fabric and coverings.

Jessica Mauboy led the way with a thigh-skimming black blouse, which she partly concealed beneath a translucent sheath decorated with gold embellishments.

She rose to fame as a teenager, but today the girl is most definitely a woman.

Others stars hopping on the layering bandwagon included the UK’s SuRie, who paired a little white dress with a beige overlayer, and Austria’s Cesar Sampson, who wore a stylish t-shirt beneath a bomber jacket. He, more than anyone, was ready to transition from red carpet to the club.

You can see even more footage of all of the stars on the wiwibloggs Instagram account.

I was impressed by the Czech performance. I saw an earlier stiff performance at another event but this is definitely better. He is a showman and this definitely was better than Israel. I thought Netta had overshadowed Nickolas of late but the Czech Republic is coming back fighting.

Betts looked amazing and is so likeable. I liked her song and tipped it to win but this performance was poor and is worrying. It list a lot of the sparkle from the video. If this is the performance at the real event, it will not be top 5.

Please, I think these kind of comments are not helping him. If he would want people to have faith in his May performance, he could at least show up in these promo tours, because there are a lot of people who support him. It’s a good possibility for him to grow as an artist and to make his voice known. I really support him, but I agree with Anita here. And please stop making assumptions about what he must be doing, unless you have specific info. And his name is BushPEPA, not Bush!

On the other hand, we shouldn’t judge. We don’t know the real reasons after this. Maybe personal ones, maybe he’s psychologically struggling with the pressure, or he’s just trying to save his voice and energy for the rehearsals and semifinal. We’ve seen artists get exhaused from these promo tours before and not properly delivering in the real contest, so maybe that’s a good decision for him. As fans, we should keep supporting him until the end.

My top performances from this show were: Israel, Czeck Republic, UK, France, Macedonia, Denmark, Serbia,

Belgium was disappointing.

I agree with you. Belgium is my #3, but I must sadly admit that she was one of the weakest 🙁 ( together with Azerbaijan and Belarus)

I don’t agree on Israel. It’s not one of my favorites, for personal taste reasons, but her live was really good.

It is one of my favourits but this live was truly disappointing. Off key, rushed, lacking sparkle. She must really work on it!

Alfred always has a Joey Essex kind of look on his face, just as if he doesn’t fully understand what is happening around him so he just rolls with it. I’m not a fan of the Spanish entry but that’s actually quite adorable.

All I just remembered in the video:
a. One of the San Marino girls seemed like she got busy at the buffet, or she ate all of her competitors in the national finals
b. Suri is the epitome of blandness, like really B-L-A-N-D. Like every pore of her body sweats blandness
c. The Czech guy looks like a Bel Ami twink (and that’s a good thing, LOL)

what does shantay means?

Sennek is by far my favourite, so elegant and sophisticated, but at the same time very natural.

“Shantay” is a word from RuPaul’s 90s hit “Supermodel”, it kind of means work it on the runway

Most of the artists’ clothes really represent their personality and also what their song is about. Aisel and Netta looking young and carefree, Ari is confident and bright, Madame Monsieur pretty minimalistic and classy, AlMaia are couple-friendly, and Mikolas Josef being playful and fun.

Furthermore, here are some other ones that I like: Jessica Mauboy obviously stood out with her dazzling and charming clothing. I also like Zibbz’s Corinne with the hat and I hope she wears that hat on stage. Sennek’s hair pretty much defines her look on the red carpet. That’s pretty much about it for now.

In relation to the song, I don’t know much which is why I separated it in another paragraph. Her hair is just something to be amused.

Sevak is such an imposing man. I think that would help him a lot to have an amazing presence on stage and lift up his performance.
