Besides sharing the same soil for thousands of centuries, Italy and San Marino are poised to share the Eurovision stage — and another voting drama? — for the eighth year in a row.

And it’s a real gender clash. Ermal Meta and Fabrizio Moro will carry the Italian flag in the grand final singing “Non mi avete fatto niente”, while Jessika Muscat and Jenifer Brening are joining forces to qualify from the second semi, representing the tiny Serenissima Repubblica, with their entry “Who we are”.

Now it’s up to you. Do you prefer the Italian pop-folk song focused on acts of terrorism that have occurred in the world in recent years or the Sammarinese mix of pop and rap about bullying and the pride of being authentic and unique?

Eat your dish of delicious tortellini and sip a glass of good Chianti wine while listening to the proposals and then… vote!

ITALY: ERMAL META & FABRIZIO MORO – “NON MI AVETE FATTO NIENTE”

After several past participations as soloists (or member of bands), Ermal and Fabrizio won Sanremo 2018 together in a landslide back in February, capturing one of the most controversial victories in the history of the Italian festival.

Entered as the assumed winners, the duo was accused of violating the rules regarding the originality of the song and risked being eliminated. Italian broadcaster RAI decided to keep them in the competition. The rest is history.

SAN MARINO: JESSIKA FEAT. JENIFER BRENING – “WHO WE ARE”

Jessika from Malta and Jenifer from Germany got their ticket to Lisbon by winning 1in360, the online talent show launched by San Marino and aimed at singers across the world to find the “Internet candidate” for the Eurovision 2018.

“Who we are” was originally performed by Jessika and Sammarinese rapper Irol. The couple sang the entry during the first live show of 1in360, but later Irol decided to drop out of performing the song due to it not fitting his style of music.

A revamped studio version of the song, featuring Jenifer “Jenny B, what you get is what you see” Brening, was produced for the final and went on to win beating other 10 competitors.

Why even bother to ask? Ermal and Fabrizio, hands down! They are my #2 at the moment. That video of theirs gets right to the whole point of the song. Only 7 teams scored less than Jessika and Jenifer after my 1st evaluation.

Actually San Marino. Like for reals. Italy is so shouty, pretentious and overall not good.
At least San Marino is listenable.

I voted for San Marino

For the sole reason that the Italian entry sounded a lot like Aserejé.

Aye. She deserved better, after trying 9 years in Malta and getting thrown under the bus in 2014 by the MESC jury after winning the televote with “Hypnotica”.

Is good to be in the final and to win over the smallest country when you don’t have the courage to compete all the way.

Seriously? There’s other news
For example, Kristian Kostov will join Equinox in Amsterdam.
You have asked us our favourite song in one big poll, these small ones are useless. I like your website but this is just ridiculous.

Very sad to read about this comments. For me Italy is one of the best entry this year! We will see who will be right at the end of the competition. I also like Equinox much better than Kristian last year!
