It’s the dawning of the common framework at Eurovision. EQUINOX will represent Bulgaria at Eurovision 2018 with the song “Bones”. Formed for Eurovision, Equinox consists of three Bulgarians (Zhana Bergendorff, Vlado Mihailov and Georgi Simeonov) and two Americans (Johnny Manuel and Trey Campbell).
The song was chosen internally by the Bulgarian national broadcaster BNT, with advice from an international panel. “Bones” is written by the production team Symphonix International, which consists of Borislav Milanov, Joacim Persson, Dag Lundberg and Trey Campbell. The same team – though with some variations of members – were behind Bulgaria’s acts in both 2017 and 2016.
“Bones” might sound (and even look) like a dark track, but there’s a message of love behind the track. Love is so powerful that it transcends beyond all visible things – hence “I love beyond the bones”.
The song tackles this with questions too: “what is life, if it’s just of the earth, only of the flesh and bones”. There’s something deeper within us all and it’s important when it comes to love and relations with other people.
