Madwalk 2018 Eleni Foureira Yianna Terzi Aisel Demy Evridiki Sakis Rouvas

It’s one of the glitziest nights in the Greek showbiz calendar, combining haute couture with pop music. And while the annual MadWalk 2018 took place back in March, the fashion extravaganza only premiered on TV over the weekend.

As always, the catwalk show paid host to a multitude of familiar Eurovision faces, including three from the class of 2018.

Aisel “X My Heart”

Azerbaijan’s 2018 singer supported Apostolos Mitropoulos, one of the most popular and alternative fashion designers in Greece — and one who has dressed celebrities including Miley Cyrus, Debi Mazar and Paris Hilton.

The performance started with Aisel playing a piano version of  “X My Heart”, at a piano painted with words connected to the show.

Yianna Terzi “Oniro mou”

She’s Greece’s act for Lisbon, but for one night only Yianna Terzi was the charity act. The American based singer performed “Oniro Mou” dressed entirely in white, surrounded by a sea of ladies in blue. Writing on Instagram, Yianna elaborated on the experience.

This song makes me emotional every single time.. Thank you to all the artists, managers and media people that expressed their sincere admiration for the song last night backstage. I am really feeling the love! Thank you @bsbofficial for making a dress to help others – proud to be the Charity Act on the show. Thank you @madwalk for a special night!

Eleni Foureira

She’s the Albanian born Greek songstress that’s representing Cyprus at next month’s contest. But rather than treat the attending fashionistas to a rendition of her Eurovision entry “Fuego”, Eleni Foureira opted instead to tackle an old classic.

Wearing a stunning Vrettos Vrettakos creation, the popstar put her own spin on “Gigi In Paradisco” — a 1980 hit for the french singer Dalida. Eleni is no stranger to cover versions — her take on Nadav Guedj’s “Golden Boy” ended up being one of the biggest hits of her career.

Demy, Sakis Rouvas and Evridiki

The exclusive event was overflowing with Eurovision stars. Others to perform on the night included Demy, Sakis Rouvas and Evridiki.

Greece’s 2017 singer Demy covered “Na me thimase”, a song by the late Melina Merkouri. Meanwhile, Sakis Rouvas (Greece 2004 and 2009) and Evridiki (Cyprus 1992, 1994 and 2007) performed numbers from their most recent records.

Which star gave the best performance? And of Aisel, Eleni and Yianna, who do you think will do best in Lisbon? Let us know in the comments below.

I don’t even care that it was all playback. Eleni is FIERCE! She could give Mei Finegold a run for her money with that runway walk.

We can’t really judge from this, because they were lipsincing. Hope all 3 (Gianna, Eleni and Aisel) deliver live.

The only thing that disappointed me more than the lipsyncs is how terrible the model catwalks are.

Both of them were great:
Aisel managed to show he beautiful voice and her power on stage. I loved the beginning of the song and how it elevates to the current version.
Yianna is a great artist, I loved how comfortable she looks on stage and the simplicity with which she performed her song.
And Foureira was the real show woman that we all want to see.

I’ve not watched the video, but beginning to be a little concerned at Foureira not singing Fuego. Especially if it’s lip synced why is she not performing it before Eurovision?

I think she said she didnt want to give away the eurovision staging. Probably because this song’s choreography is going to be specific i guess?

Aisel is a great artist who could elevate a simple piano ballad to something epic. Shame she’s been lumbered with a generic pop number. X My Heart and her are both very good in isolation, but don’t work together.

She is a diva it’s great she is singing a catchy current uptempo song.
In 2018 who in Europe under 50 years old wants to listen a piano ballad?

It is still weird to see Aisel being involved in anything Greek nowadays. But I get her reason about being a fan of the said Greek fashion designer.

If you want to listen to Yianna’s live voice, she has posted a video in her instagram, in which she sings the chorus alone. You can go check it!

Evridiki outstanding as usual, it was such an injustice she did not make it thru the Semi in 2007.

I think it wasn’t Greece’s live, it’s the studio version. This is strange, because her song is one of the most vocally simple.

I’m not a supporter of the Greek entry but the vocals are quite complex that’s why she’ll be having AT LEAST four backing vocallists, with the potential to adding a fifth one. There’s so many voices involved in the chorus to create a choir-like effect so it’s not as simple.

Greece’s performance in May has nothing to do with this particular performance. So guys don’t worry. This act was just a charity act in order to gather some money for a philanthropic cause.

I like the Greek song, but the ladies in blue dresses are dreadfull. They walk uneven, they stand uneven. It’s not that difficult!!! If this is the act for ESC, she’s lost it.

Yes, because as we know in Eurovision they can be at list 10 people and the voices are playback so for that you don’t see vocals on stage, o please before you write a coment think first…POR DIOS
