Albania, Eugent Bushpepa, 2

Fourteen blokes started the journey to become “Best male solo artist of Eurovision 2018“. And now, the results are in.

It’s the Albanian power house rocker, the one and only Eugent Bushpepa. And he won by quite a margin, taking 22% of all votes cast. In a distant second came Ukraine’s Mélovin. Czech Republic’s Mikolas Josef wasn’t far behind in third.

It is clear that people were thirsty for some serious rock n’roll. And Eugent definitely serves plenty of that with his silky smooth voice, powerful performances, charm and a mild manner. The FiK winner might have entered the pre-party game a little later than many, but his presence still managed to sweep everyone off their feet.

His rock ballad “Mall” has become somewhat of a fan favourite. And we’re not surprised. The song is both catchy and melancholic with impeccable vocals. Everything one wants from a solid rock number.

Now it is time for Eugent to fly off to Lisbon and attempt to get the rest of Europe on board. He takes to the semi-final stage on 8 May.

We know what our wiwi-readers think of Eugent, but what about the rest of Europe? Will the viewers at home be as fascinated by him as those of us in the bubble? We’re simply dying to find out!  Maybe it is time for a Balkan country to host the contest again?

It is truly sad how people can still be racists. I understand that they are just afraid of unknown, but such childish comment-attacks against other races are extremely cowardly! I feel truly sorry for people to be surrounded by such a racist pig and bigot. Thank God there are less and less idiots like this!

Hey guys! Don’t be fooled by some guy who pretends to love Eugent and spreads hate throughout. Eugent said him himself that ESC is the brightest moment in his career, and never had the attittude that “he was doing ESC a favor to participate”. If you think these comments are praising Eugent they are instead making people hate him for nothing, so stop them please!

Exactly! I’ve had the same feeling too when I read those comments. It just didn’t make sense that they kept attacking even the people that support Eugent for no logical reason. I just wonder why they are doing this. Are they Albanian? Even though I’m sure it’s just one person commenting under different totally made up names and usernames. Please people don’t take those comments seriously!!!

So the supposed love and happiness fest for Eugent became nothing but a bunch of snobs and hipsters that are so above pop and mainstream music disliking almost every song that has came to the Contest. It’s funny how you can go to hate from love in just a few lines. I love “Mall” and it hope it qualifies, but then to throw sh*t on almost every other song or country that has went for pop or something different than strong vocalist ballads. That’s low. And even if we we’re back to those days, Ireland would probably win all the… Read more »

I agree with you completely. Some people have lost the whole point of the contest! I’ve seen mean, evil, racist comments that don’t make any sense at all! Eugent is great and amazing, but this doesn’t mean that everyone else is trash. It’s clear that some immature people fail to comprehend this.

He deserves it! He’s the best performer and vocalist of this year and also a very kind and humble artist. I wish him all the best in Lisbon and he’s for sure gonna rock and give a wonderful show despite the result!

p.s: I really wished that the new website would have a filter for trolls! They’re becoming very annoying.

I belong to the Eurovision’s senior audience (+30) and of course that my vote went to Eugent. He has no competitors in this lackluster edition comprising of lame Justin Bieber wannabes that even my seven-years-old daughter dislikes!

That’s how you win the Eurovision – no cheesy pop, no cheap PR, no stunts, no fireworks, no gimmicks, no fuss, no muss, just talent! I am already making plans for Albania 2019.

Wow. That’s… unexpected. Most people I know don’t like the song and it’s not exactly doing great in Youtube tops/views and basically everywhere except… Wiwibloggs polls? Congrats, though! it’s a cute song.
