We are still three votes away from the end of the OGAE Poll 2018, but Israel‘s Netta has already won. A clean sweep of perfect scores from Andorra, Finland, EC Germany and Turkey have pushed her across the line. It’s no longer possible for any country to reach her total of 424 points.

Netta’s current haul is already higher than several previous OGAE Poll winners. The only acts from the previous year’s with higher totals are 2016’s winner Amir and 2017’s winner Francesco Gabbani.

It’s also no longer possible for anyone other than France to finish in second. Madame Monsieur are over 100 points clear of third place Finland. Madame Monsieur picked up three sets of ten points and one set of eight points in the latest round of voting.

That leaves only one position on the podium in question: third place. Finland’s Saara Aalto has a competitive total of 211 points, but one other act remains in striking distance. Fourth place Australia trails by 28 points on 183.

That means to pass Saara, Jessica Mauboy needs to pick up a minimum of 10 points from each of the remaining clubs.

Jessica failed to pick up big points from the four latest clubs, with her best score 7 points from EC Germany.

Fifth place Czech Republic is snapping at her heels on 170 points. Unlike Jessica, he managed to pick up points from all four clubs, including 8 points from EC Germany. That puts him only 13 points behind her.

Although they’ve slipped back in recent days, a top five finish remains a mathematical possibility for sixth place Bulgaria. Their best score was 10 points from OGAE Turkey.

Lower down the table fan favourite Spain finally picked up a few more points, taking 8 points from neighbours Andorra. Italy also picked up 8 points from OGAE Finland. The United Kingdom has also finally got off the starting line, with 4 points from OGAE Luxembourg.

If OGAE jinxes this I’m going to be so pissed. I don’t want her to be another Francesco or Amir! Hers isn’t just a good song, it’s a great song, and I don’t want it to be diminished by overhype.

OGAE voters are just a bunch of rapid fans and betters who want that big slice of the pie when their bet wins ESC. They vote multiple times under different countries. That Rest Of The World category is pointless.

these people from Ogae dont see how stupid they are votting every year with the countries who are first in bettings and then those countries finish 6-10

UK having received four points and the Netherlands none is proof of bad taste. The poor girl is given one of the worst compositions of ESC. Best song this year of course comes from Georgia. But I do realise I live in Lalaland.

Most OGAE groups tend to synchronize since they’re on the same gay cruise. Like, literally.

Because the gays in charge of this madness are extremely bias on their gay anthems. To see countries like Hungary without points is a proof of how much they favour explosive pop songs irregardless of the lyrics. OGAE is nothing but a very bad joke, that sadly gets VIP access to any Eurovision blog I read.

Have somebody seen that :https://eurovisionfrance.wordpress.com/2018/04/22/sondage-eurovision-2018-and-the-winner-is/

I love how people voted: France first, Israel second and Bulgaria third, Australia 11, Czech Republic- 14, Ukraine- 16…. Like why this can’t be after the Eurovision as well, I would be happy, but off no. We will have juries to but Sweden and Australia in top 10 and Macedonia probably would not get to the final, because of juries, ugh.

No offence but i think atleast 80% of male esc fans who follow eurovision sites all year round are gay. That’s not just limited to the ogae.

Multiply 12 by the amount of countries left to vote. Add that number to the points they already have.

Israel has 424 pts and there are still 3 OGAE clubs remaining.
424 + 3×12 = 460 pts maximum
So Israel and France will finish respectively 1st and 2d since Israel has 95 pts advantage to France.
France has 118 pts advantage on Finland. Finland is almost sure to finish 3rd, (28 pts advantage and 36 pts to distribute).
Cordially yours.

Hi guys, i know its off topic but i have a question for you
When i listen to this year’s entries’ instrumental versions i hear vocals throughout the songs. For example when you hear Sweden’s song there are Benjamin’s vocals in insttumental version. I think this will be the version of song which Benjamin will sing on at eurovision stage. But do eurovision rules accept pre recorded vocals? Does not have to be all the vocals live?

Denis

Don’t know about other countries but Sweden usually have a choir in the background where the pre recorded parts are. Loreen had it. Måns had it. I would assume Benjy will have it to

I wonder same too… What about those pre recorded vocals on instrumental versions? I thought all the sounds need to be live i mean all the sounds backing vocals too… Maybe im wrong…

The Netherlands and Hungary are surely going to the final
And they deserve the top 10
Unfortunately, I think we’ll lost Switzerland in the semi final once again…

France is overrated because everybody wants to go to Paris in 2019, Germany is underrated because people think too much about previous years results. That proves that those predictions have nothing to do with reality.

France finished first in the OGAE Poll 2016, whereas its results were catastrophic between 2015 and 2011. Maybe Europe want to go to Paris in 2019 too? 🙂

Some of the fan favourites will flop as usual. And some will do better than the voting here . I can see Austria doing much better for example. All Nordic countries except Iceland ought to do extremley well.
Bulgaria depends on staging. Israel if it manages to become more than a fun song

Jo.

Denmark won’t do amazing. He will qualify, but in the final he will finish pretty much like Anja Nissen, however doing better with the audience and worse with the juries.
Not sure about the other three.

Denis

Reply to  Jo.

Sweden will of course reach top 10 by 100% chance. Top 5 probably 90%
Norway despite all backlash will reach top10. 75%
Finland will either get it’s best result in a while or ending up a flop. But I predict top 10 by maybe 60%
Denmark is a grower and should reach final but agree with you. It is a middle of the road entry. Those usually do better with juries than audience.
And poor Iceland

I think Sweden has 90% of being in the Top 10 and 50% of being Top 5.
Norway 30-50% of being Top 10, because of the eye-catching staging.
Finland, well I think she will qualify and finish 11-16 in the final.
Iceland, with that terrible running order and no Nordic friend, not higher than 17th in the semifinal.
