Portugal, Cláudia Pascoal 1

In the beginning of April, wiwibloggs went behind-the-scenes at the video shoot for Cláudia Pascoal and Isaura’s “O Jardim” (The Garden). And today the two Iberian beauties released the long awaited clip for Portugal’s Eurovision 2018 entry.

Hoping to maintain their successful Eurovision streak, the Portuguese team kept with their winning formula: simplicity!

Both singer and composer are featured in the music video, with several shots of other people — representing  different ages and races. The green background represents the garden, contrasting beautifully with Cláudia’s bubble gum pink hair.

“We wanted to record the music video in a studio, somehow we wanted this video to be for everyone, regardless the country or culture. We wanted to have people from all over Portugal to join us for the shoot”, Isaura told us when we visited the set.

Claudia and Isaura’s song translates to “The Garden”, and discusses themes based around missing someone and the process of remembering them. Its simple tones and her soaring vocals have earned plenty of praise.

Portugal’s music video reflects what wiwiblogger Luis Fuster stated in his Wiwi jury review.

“Cláudia and Isaura add layers and layers of texture to this song and manage to create a striking performance with the simplest setting. What’s even better about this entry is that goes far beyond Eurovision: “O jardim” can be the soundtrack of any peaceful moment of your life.”

Cláudia and Isaura’s first rehearsal on the Eurovision 2018 stage will be on May 4.

It’s a possibility. If they can’t decide on the others, it could be a repeat of 2011, except “O Jardim” is WAAAAAAY better than “Running Scared”, and Claudia could definitely steal the title. She is my #10 going into this contest.

I want to take a moment to admire the beautiful contrast between the pink hair and the green background. I can’t describe how I feel about it but it feels like she gives life to the garden and it’s beautiful wow

Mas que para que servia o fundo verde e camisolas verdes? Se era para ser monocromático, outras cores estariam mais de acordo com a canção… branco, um azul claro…talvez?

I hope I won’t be crucified, but I like O Jardim much more than Amar Pelos Dois.

Am I the only one annoyed about the fact that Isaura is in literally EVERY MOVE of Claudia Pascoal, but not credited in the actual freaking entry?

No, you’re not the only one.
It’s ridiculous how Isaura cannot keep herself in the background and letting Claudia have her moment.
Even in the Eurovision YT channel there is a video titled “Claudia Pascoal – Profile” and then they show Claudia and Isaura is there again, answering questions too.
