Estonia Elina Rehearsal Eurovision 2018
EBU

Ten acts strutted their stuff for the first time in Lisbon on day one of rehearsals. Israel’s Netta brought her maneki-nekos. Belarus’ Alekseev was bleeding roses, and Czech Republic’s Mikolas Josef showed off  his acrobatics before being sent to hospital.

We asked you who was your best first rehearsal on day one of rehearsals. After 9,712 votes were cast in total, Estonia’s Elina Nechayeva took out the top prize with the top note. She took nearly 18% of total votes, with 1,736 votes.

Estonia finally said yes to the dress, and were able to bring Elina’s amazing “not-dress skirt” (according to her) despite all the drama leading up to the contest. And it paid off. Showing off an awe-inspiring light show and knocking out some brutally high notes, y’all voted the Estonian operatic siren as your favourite on day one.

Albania’s Eugent Bushpepa was also a fan favourite of readers, winning silver place on our poll with 15.7%, or 1,521 of the total votes. Eugent showed off his powerful vocals and charismatic stage presence early on in rehearsals, flooring us with his entry “Mall”.

Rounding out the top three is common framework Equinox from Bulgaria. They brought dark staging and moody lighting for their song “Bones”. Even though their staging was dark, their chemistry was shining clear, winning 14.4% or 1,401 of total votes.

See below for all the results:

I suddenly feel like listening to Verona, as I’m reminded of it while I read stuff here. How did that go again? “We are Lost in Verona…”

Estonia and Albania were definitely the best, in terms of the “whole package”.
But Bulgaria 3rd? I’m sorry, but it seems that they have a lot to improve. Even in the snippet, it looked pretty flat.

Recently, Luísa Sobral gave an interview for RTP and Albania’s song was playing on the background, which she really enjoyed! Professionals and champions love it and that’s all that matters! Trolls don’t deserve better than chicken, camels, JB wannabes and fake make-up monsters.

@ieva: It was a week ago on RTP. Snippets of all Eurovision songs played randomly on the background but Luisa seemed to be impressed by the Albanian one because she stopped for a while when it started, then smiled and nodded in approval. Meanwhile, she was completely indifferent towards other songs during the interview. She focused on answers and didn’t even seem to hear the music.

Albania has a strong contender this year! Fast-food-music trolls at home won’t like him but juries surely will! Final guaranteed!!!

Is this the only poll that Israel hasn’t won? 😛
I love this top btw!
P.s: It’s still beyond me how Albania is falling in the betting odds. He was also 2nd in the journalists poll.

Do you really care about odds?! Street people wager there, not music professionals! Albania was last on odds back in 2012, and yet it almost won the Eurovision. You should ditch your irrational worry about those betting odds once and for all!

Odds always cause this mass hysteria despite of them being completely a joke! I mean, those same odds placed Portugal 28th and Montenegro 8th last year, lol. Betting is for losers, dear sweet people!

Albania has won pretty much every poll in here and came second in this one. It is great that the greatest vocalists this year – Albania and Estonia – paired up! Everyone voted for both.
