Second rehearsals at Eurovision 2018 continue. Did San Marino’s Jessika & Jenifer Brening impress with “Who We Are”? Did Denmark’s Rasmussen freeze that arrow in the air? Let’s find out…

Reaction: San Marino & Denmark

San Marino: Jessika feat. Jenifer Brening with “Who We Are”

What a difference an outfit makes! Jessika turned up to her second rehearsal wearing a glittering red dress. It clung to each of her contours, and worked well with the golden hues of the stage lights. It gives the song a slightly classier feel, elevating the overall package. The robot that proposed to Jessika with a sign saying “Will you marry me?” no longer does. Instead he simply extends his hand towards hers, removing the strange suggestion of a cyborg sexual fantasy. Earlier in the show the robot says, “Justice for Valentina”…though earlier in the show it also says “This is just rehearsal”. Will we get a cheeky message during the show? Who knows.

The slightly classier presentation has moved this from WTF to “guilty pleasure”. You go girls!

Denmark: Rasmussen with “Higher Ground”

Most performers want to have cleaner staging during their second rehearsals. But Denmark definitely wanted it dirtier. Their dancers and vocalists muddied up their faces, showing us that these Vikings have been in battle. That rugged, we-have-survived-a-storm look works well with the dark backing track and their laboured stomp dance. This is musical theatre realness and they are now bringing the appropriate look!

Another big change? The sails! Owing to different camera shots and new angles, they no longer look like bed sheets, but instead actual sails. The bright white against the darker stage lights creates a natural pop.

San Marino: I think San Marino has finally accepted the fact that they are just…never gonna qualify and they’re just letting the girls have fun more than anything. Good for them.

Denmark: This actually does seem to look better than the first rehearsal. I think this will make it to the final without a problem because they have an obvious theme they are trying to create that people seem to like.

Justice has been served and “Spirit of the Night” got what it deserved.

New outfits for the girls of San Marino. They both looked better now. However, I still believe they’re trolling us. Today we’ve seen the “Justice for Valentina”. It’s just tasteless. Denmark didn’t change much, I still can’t get it.

It was just a joke, they are not going to use that in the semifinal.

I’ve always kind of liked the Sammarinese song and the Valentina sign just took it the next level. I want them to qualify so bad!

San Marino: Well, at least the robots showed a good sense of humor (the “Justice for Valentina” was very charming) and the girls look nice on their outfits.
Denmark: The sails indeed looked better. And I’m glad to know that Rasmussen’s hair will look dirtier on the big nights. It’s very different from any other entry, so I think it will create an impact on first time viewers.

Rasmussen’s voice is too light (high) for this song. you expect a deeper stronger voice for this kind of song.

I still don’t like the robots, but it’s nice to see San Marino has a sense of humour.
The clothes do make a huge difference. I can take them seriously now.

It’s amazing how the 1st semi is so difficult to choose among all the good entries and the 2nd is difficult to choose something worthy among all this garbage. Bad luck for whoever fails in the 1st semi.

I think that is high possibility actually that we’ll have this year all Nordic in final

If you consider Iceland a nordic Country, it won’t happen. Otherwise: yeah, probably. The only scandinavian Country I see struggeling a bit is Finland.

Iceland is a Nordic country. However Finland is not a Scandinavian country. Scandinavia is Denmark, Sweden & Norway. The Nordic countrys in eurovision are: Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland & Iceland. Iceland will not be in the final. But the rest of the Nordic countrys will, and I will not be surprised if Denmarks wins ESC 2018.

Finland and Iceland aren’t Scadinavian countries. But both are Nordic countries
The only Nordic country that won’t struggle is Sweden. Finland and denmark are the ones I can see struggling. But I think all except Iceland will be finalists

Just because of the troll sign, they should get at least some votes. Maybe Germany, Italy and Malta will do it.
