He’s the singer-songwriter that’s hoping to break Ireland’s long non-qualification steak. But before he competes in tomorrow’s first semi-final, he caught up with our Deban.

Ryan talks about the tattoo on the back of his neck: “I got it in Thailand, by bamboo. I like a short shave on the sides but also can cover the tattoo if I want ”

Claire Ann Varly joins Ryan on stage: “she is a really good friend, an amazing singer, she sings in that soft tone. When I wanted to find someone who could replicate the record, she lives in Berlin, so we had to bring her home”.

“I don’t really mind about chart positions, it doesn’t really phase me, or awards or anything like this. The reward for me is someone telling me that they love my song and the feeling they have”.

Ryan is really involved in the staging: “I’m really happy, all the work is done, it’s now just a matter a of rehearsing. About the staging: “the simplest things, are sometimes the hardest to do”.

It’s my #3 song this year, and Ryan is such a sweet guy. Whatever happens, I’m so happy this song is in the contest. Thank you, Ireland!

Really hope Europe get voting for Ireland this year. Qualification (even in last place) is all I want.
Please please vote for Ireland…we are actually trying this year.
