During tonight’s second semi-final, she’ll sit atop a plinth that rises into the air to create Mount Samoylova — Russia’s most fabulous peak.

And as she does, Russia’s Julia Samoylova may reminisce over her eventual Eurovision fortnight, which included a private meeting with Eurovision 2017 winner Salvador Sobral.

Russia’s First Channel arranged the brief meeting between the “I Won’t Break” singer and Portugal’s biggest jazz star on Tuesday.

Writing on Instagram afterwards, she described the “Amar pelos dois” singer as “a wonderful, really bright boy.”

Speaking to wiwibloggs, Julia says she was impressed by Salvador’s kindness and empathy for all that she’s been through. She also told him about seeing the ocean for the very first time during her trip to Portugal.

“When I saw the ocean it was huge,” she tells us. “My favourite fairy tale was Disney’s The Little Mermaid and I remembered Ariel’s song when she saw the ocean creatures.”

On Sunday Julia caught up with wiwibloggs ahead of the Eurovision 2018 Opening Ceremony. Working a purple lip and a brightly coloured t-shirt with glittering jacket, she made a major fashion statement: “I like bright colours. This is my style at home too.”

She also introduced us to her dog Timoshka.

“He is five years old and he is like my bodyguard.”

Why did she bring him? “I was just thinking that the blue carpet is such a comfortable atmosphere and he likes to communicate with people. And also he is part of our family.”

Her song is “I Won’t Break,” so we had to know: What keeps her strong during difficult times?

“I remember my family, my parents and my close relatives who support me a lot. That makes me feel strong.”

William, this is “old news”…
Wiwibloggs made “sh1t” with the other article were induced readers in a wrong way by playing with words, making a bad translation and lying.
Damage control it’s made by assuming the mistake and say sorry to readers and Salvador, not writing an “old new” about him.

Ok, William, you can stop kissing Putin’s puppet’s ass! Maybe you need to come back to America and remember who your loyalty should be for.

Maybe he thinks Russia is a good song while trashing Israel and Cyprus. I’m a fan of Amar Pelos Dois and I think his journey has been very brave but his attitude lately has been disgusting.
