When the Eurovision 2018 jury ranked Melovin dead last in the grand final, his diehard fans let out an audible WTF?!

But Melovin isn’t sitting around moping. Instead the “Under the Ladder” singer is preaching the message of his song and is already on his feet and planning his next big thing.

“I was over Eurovision from day one right after the Grand Final,” he says in a statement sent to wiwibloggs.

“I simply didn’t have a chance to take even a day off. I’m putting together the show with my team for my Ukrainian tour, already working on my future album and also am preparing to voice-over one of the upcoming animated blockbusters, which I’m really excited about.”

The X Factor Ukraine series 6 winner will take his show on the road in Ukraine’s five largest cities: Lviv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Odessa and Kyiv this summer. That final performance is almost sold out already.

That’s not his only big performance on the horizon. The singer, who takes his name from Alexander McQueen and Halloween, will also open for ZEDD in Kyiv on July 19th.

The famous producer, songwriter and DJ has worked with the likes of Ariana Grande, Selena Gomez and Lady Gaga and hand-picked Melovin as his opener.

Rubbing shoulders with bigwigs has become normal for the amateur perfumer, who recently released his first fragrance “Black Gas”.

“I met Jean Paul Gaultier at Eurovision’s final backstage,” he says. “I was so impressed to hear that a true fashion legend likes my vocal performance and staging, especially the appearance of the piano at the beginning.”

“What else do you need if you’ve been supported by such amazing talents like Jean Paul Gaultier or Verka Serduchka through this Eurovision journey? Not to mention my devoted fans all over Europe, who gave me so much support, and I will never forget it.”

Are you excited to see Melovin hitting the road in Ukraine? How do you feel about the jury placing him last in the grand final? Sound off down below!

why even bother to read articles and post hateful trash comments if you don’t like artist, i never even click on something i don’t like…ugh!
Melovin is a total sweetheart ,hating on him it’s the same as hating on puppy lol
he should come back to Eurovision for sure, maybe with classy and romantic song next time:)

Oh my gosh, that jealous KGB’s troll Daniel has wasted all day to convince everyone to Melovin’s fail. That’s so funny, but Putin won’t give you a medal.Don’t blame Europe for kicking out Samoylova. She screwed up.

Hey Juli, I’ve got a stud muffin for ya in case your hunchback hubby drops you like a hot potato! Send a nude or two to Melovin (you know, the hot ones with a hairdryer in your hand) and wait for the spell to take effect!

well, with such awful running order i’m very surprised he got so much televotes, he would get more if he performed later, never really liked his song ,but he wasn’t the worst in GF for sure, at least boy can sing and looks very cool and artistic on stage, juries slashed him for no reason, but hey, they ranked France,Bulgaria and Moldova almost the same, like really? wth?
and Sweden ranked second is all you have to know about these pro juries….lol

Anita

Eurovision inspired Melovin despite the placing – I like this attitude.

XOV
Guest

Well, why wouldn’t he be inspired? He went to the Eurovision without any talent and escaped from ending up last. Anyone of his poor artistic level would consider that as a great success!

Simon
Guest

This goth kid is amazing, maybe his song wasn’t the best but definitely not the worst , come on, his vocal was spot on and his stage presence is impressive, juries points smells fishy to me ….and of course if he didn’t perform first he would get much more televotes , running order is important at ESC
anyway i\m glad he didn’t whine about his results and moved on, you go baby! i’m looking forward for his European tour he been talking , i would go:)

The jury was not fair. Can someone know what evaluation criteria exist? And what did they not like? This looks like sabotage and intentional depreciation of the participant.

Daniel
Guest

Let’s say that 210 professional juries from 42 countries in Europe were unfair but how could you explain the lack of televote as well? Ukraine received some televote points only from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, and Poland, but mostly null points from the rest of Europe. Blame yourselves for such terrible song and performer choices – NOT the European juries, nor televoters!

Fuego
Guest

go and look who these ‘professionals’ juries are ….lol
they robbed a lot of decent songs this year….

your info about public voting is very selected
Melovin also received public points from Italy, France, Montenegro, Israel, San Marino, Portugal, Macedonia,Armenia, Latvia, Cyprus and Bulgaria,
of course all of them are ‘Ukrainians’…. lol

SaaraLover
Guest

he would receive even more public votes if they didn’t put him in dead spot open the the finale

SaaraLover
Guest

he also got 12 points from Czech Republic and 8 from Russia

Joe
Guest

Both of which Slavic, former communist, and Eastern European.

Joe

Montenegro, Macedonia, Latvia, and Bulgaria, are Eastern European countries and they gave low points to Ukraine this year. Unsure how can you brag about Bulgaria’s one point, Cyprus’ two points, Latvia’s three points, F.Y.R. Macedonia’s 4 points, and San Marino’s 5 points! If an entry can’t get at least ten points from small and insignificant countries such as Montenegro, FYR Macedonia, San Marino, etc, imagine how many it will get from the great ones!

Simon
Guest

wow! what an arrogance ….

Gnarly
Guest

@Fuego: Those countries that you’ve mentioned gave from 1 to 4 points to him, lol.

Simon
Guest

not exactly
Italy gave -8
Montenegro,Israel -7
San Marino – 5

I said that in France there was the final of “The Voice” in front of the final of the “Eurovision”. Some viewers did not arrive until the end or at the end, when they voted for the candidates they could see without hearing the others. (We are not going to lie, in France the vast majority of viewers have not followed the contest before the final, and discover countries at that time.) But overall in general the French really vote for the candidates they like, it is rarely a geopolitical tactic. I also noticed that Ukrainians generally liked France, and… Read more »

as far as I know, he received 119 points from the audience – 7th place among 26. The spectator can not bribe, unlike the jury. How can you explain the fact that one and the same jury member put him in first place in the semifinals, and the last in the final? This is illogical. Something is wrong here. I suspect of jury corruption and deliberate underestimation to bring the right-wing countries to the first place. I do not believe this voice. So, the criteria exist or not?

XOV
Guest

Trolls fails to understand that the Grand Final is not a semi-final! To dumb it down for them further: Whoever qualifies for the Grand Final, faces a competition of the best 25 entries, and not the disqualifying ones! A song can get the jury’s 12 points in a weak semi but it most likely won’t get that in a strong grand final, facing a tough competition, so get over it you bunch of sore losers!

Ksenija
Guest

Beacause in semis 22/21 countries vote for 19 acts and 43 for 26 acts in the finals. Norway was the first iirc in their semi but was ranked poorly in the finale.

lissa

If the jury is “professional”, it should not be evaluated at 0. If this were so, then the artist did not do anything. But we saw a complex props, an interesting setting, the artist’s singing, it was great, a good song, a threat to life. For this, only 0? How so? His efforts were simply ignored

Ksenija
Guest

Why so many minuses? Results are public, go to eurovision site and check them for yourself. You liking the song and supporting him have nothing to do with his votes. Jamala won because both jury and audience liked it.

He was so robbed by the juries… but I’m happy he’s been successful beyond it and has more projects now. This guy has charisma and his voice and performances are special.

Daniel
Guest

LOL, he shouldn’t even have qualified. You Ukrainians certainly don’t understand what charisma means and what a special voice or performance is!

Ern
Guest

Hold on!

Did you see the Australian girl and her awful live performance? The juries ranked her 12th, yet Melovin was 26th. Sorry, but the Ukrainians have a valid grievance against these juries and their treatment of Melovin.

Dicky
Guest

then Ukrainians a very powerful nation i would say,lol
hundreds euro journalists and euro reviewers , tens thousands commentators on all social medias that been saying about Melovin’ charisma and talent and of course William and probably even Jean Paul Gaultier himself are Ukrainians? wow! Ukrainians are everywhere …lmao!

Daniel
Guest

Note to Dicky:

1. Melovin received mainly negative reviews from professional critics.
2. Jean Paul Gaultier is not a musican but a fashion designer.
3. William is just an obsessed Eurovision fan, not a professional of any sort.
4. Get a life!

Fuego

Note to Daniel:
get a life pathetic troll

Simon

well , can you give me links where all these ‘professionals’ critics talk negative about Melovin entry? and probably they also praised Moldova ‘ masterpiece’ song since it got so much points from ‘professionals ‘lol

i would say William is pretty much professional in what he is doing, he is not just a fan, you’re delusional …

Daniel

I’ve got nothing better to do than to bookmark websites containing negative reviews about Melovin. Also, you are either a brand new visitor or totally brainless, because WiwiBloggs are notorious for their statement “The Wiwi Jury — our in-house panel of music unprofessionals!”. It is obvious which one of us is deluded – troll!

Bruno

it’s never been boring to read comments under articles about Melovin ,huh?
so lets talk how perfect his eyebrows and hair are, i would kill for it, people are so shallow lol
i remember how Pedro was tasting Melovin’ perfume on blue carpet spraying it to the mouth and saying how delicious it was, freaking hilarious moment:D

“People are so shallow” “let’s talk about how perfect his eyebrows are” dd

He is tall, skinny and has a doll face , he could be a model 🙂
Melovin must to come back at Eurovision in few years , with some dark beautiful vampire ballad , it would be awesome!

fcking proud of him that he’s developing so fast and he’s making more and more fans all over the Europe, which is so amazing and really important to him.

I wasn’t a huge fan of his song, but there is something charismatic about him personally.

He definitely needs to try again at Eurovision. He did so well on his first try(he could have done even better,he had one of the most memorable performances of the night- top ten would have been the most fair result for that talent).I am surr that if he comes back being more experienced he will slay.

Daniel

He surely did great, ending last with the juries and barely 17th with the Ukrainian diaspora troll televote.

If Mélovin has no money he should do skin care ad…..he would earn million dollar very fast …his skin is freaking flawless… someone should tell him that …and yes, he must come back to ESC and take a sweet revenge…come on baby!

I was completely shocked to see Melovin ranked the last by OMG professional jury. It’s great that his fans all over the Europe saved him from being in the 20th places. Also, I respect him for being so confident and calm after that awful nightmare. He didn’t give up! I am looking forward to enjoying his new album!!!

Dicky

Who said European tour?! i want it so bad!!! please baby, come to Belgium sexy prince, so many people here love you, Jean Paul Gaultier should make him his new hot model and main face of his new collection , that would be a hit!

“professional juries”, JÁ. BTW, I NEED AN EUROPEAN TOUR

Fuego

I will never forgive so called ‘professional’ jury ranked porcelain vampire last in GF , such a disgrace … however i’m glad cutie pie Melovin has so much support right now, young and talented artist with no money needs as much support as he can gets, i heard he is planing European tour as well, that would be awesome, i would buy a ticket, wish gorgeous Ukrainian vampire luck in his carrier and want him to come back to Eurovision one day :))

florin

if he was singing for sweden you will saw him in top 5 with the juries.. true fact

FanESC
Guest

Don’t blame me but from the moment he was announced to represent Ukraine, I never understood the hype with “Under the ladder”. I think neither 26th, nor 7th place is justified, but, for me, 17th place is good for a song like it. This is nothing more than a good modern pop song.

Polegend Godgarina
Guest

18th in the semi-final was a more deserving place for this Lady Gaga tribute act. Either way he was 12th on average in televote, he was near the bottom in several countries and his televote score is kinda inflated by neighbor voting and Ukrainian diaspora.

FanESC
Guest

No, 15th-17th in the grand final, is good.

P!nk Forever
Guest

I feel utterly disgusted that the juries left him in the dust. Despite his pronunciation which has gotten a lot better there was absolutely nothing wrong with his performance. And don’t blame it on the #1 spot.

I see he has a huge following in his home country which are mostly young girls. The tour is the next right move.

Carl
Guest

I agree that 26th place was to low with the juries. I actually predicted a 11th-15th place for Ukraine in total. I also think if you have a interpreter with you , you should not sing in english, Russia did the same mistake.

M_K
Guest

But it was a strong final. “Nothing wrong with it” is no longer enough for a top ten finish. I personally wouldn’t have placed it last, but I think that 17th place overall was fair.

Olena

His followers are not only young girls. He has quite a lot of fans (both males and females) over 30, 40, even 60. You can like him or not but you can’t deny that he HAS talent, and thanks to Eurovision he got a lot of new fans who appreciated his talent and began to listen to his other songs (he has written 11 songs so far, and people liked them). Of course, he has a lot of things to improve but come on, he is only 21. I’m sure all that happened with him during Eurovision (both positive and… Read more »
