When the Eurovision 2018 jury ranked Melovin dead last in the grand final, his diehard fans let out an audible WTF?!

But Melovin isn’t sitting around moping. Instead the “Under the Ladder” singer is preaching the message of his song and is already on his feet and planning his next big thing.

“I was over Eurovision from day one right after the Grand Final,” he says in a statement sent to wiwibloggs.

“I simply didn’t have a chance to take even a day off. I’m putting together the show with my team for my Ukrainian tour, already working on my future album and also am preparing to voice-over one of the upcoming animated blockbusters, which I’m really excited about.”

The X Factor Ukraine series 6 winner will take his show on the road in Ukraine’s five largest cities: Lviv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Odessa and Kyiv this summer. That final performance is almost sold out already.

That’s not his only big performance on the horizon. The singer, who takes his name from Alexander McQueen and Halloween, will also open for ZEDD in Kyiv on July 19th.

The famous producer, songwriter and DJ has worked with the likes of Ariana Grande, Selena Gomez and Lady Gaga and hand-picked Melovin as his opener.

Rubbing shoulders with bigwigs has become normal for the amateur perfumer, who recently released his first fragrance “Black Gas”.

“I met Jean Paul Gaultier at Eurovision’s final backstage,” he says. “I was so impressed to hear that a true fashion legend likes my vocal performance and staging, especially the appearance of the piano at the beginning.”

“What else do you need if you’ve been supported by such amazing talents like Jean Paul Gaultier or Verka Serduchka through this Eurovision journey? Not to mention my devoted fans all over Europe, who gave me so much support, and I will never forget it.”

Are you excited to see Melovin hitting the road in Ukraine? How do you feel about the jury placing him last in the grand final? Sound off down below!

well, with such awful running order i’m very surprised he got so much televotes, he would get more if he performed later, never really liked his song ,but he wasn’t the worst in GF for sure, at least boy can sing and looks very cool and artistic on stage, juries slashed him for no reason, but hey, they ranked France,Bulgaria and Moldova almost the same, like really? wth?
and Sweden ranked second is all you have to know about these pro juries….lol

Eurovision inspired Melovin despite the placing – I like this attitude.

This goth kid is amazing, maybe his song wasn’t the best but definitely not the worst , come on, his vocal was spot on and his stage presence is impressive, juries points smells fishy to me ….and of course if he didn’t perform first he would get much more televotes , running order is important at ESC
anyway i\m glad he didn’t whine about his results and moved on, you go baby! i’m looking forward for his European tour he been talking , i would go:)

The jury was not fair. Can someone know what evaluation criteria exist? And what did they not like? This looks like sabotage and intentional depreciation of the participant.

go and look who these ‘professionals’ juries are ….lol
they robbed a lot of decent songs this year….

your info about public voting is very selected
Melovin also received public points from Italy, France, Montenegro, Israel, San Marino, Portugal, Macedonia,Armenia, Latvia, Cyprus and Bulgaria,
of course all of them are ‘Ukrainians’…. lol

I said that in France there was the final of “The Voice” in front of the final of the “Eurovision”. Some viewers did not arrive until the end or at the end, when they voted for the candidates they could see without hearing the others. (We are not going to lie, in France the vast majority of viewers have not followed the contest before the final, and discover countries at that time.) But overall in general the French really vote for the candidates they like, it is rarely a geopolitical tactic. I also noticed that Ukrainians generally liked France, and… Read more »

as far as I know, he received 119 points from the audience – 7th place among 26. The spectator can not bribe, unlike the jury. How can you explain the fact that one and the same jury member put him in first place in the semifinals, and the last in the final? This is illogical. Something is wrong here. I suspect of jury corruption and deliberate underestimation to bring the right-wing countries to the first place. I do not believe this voice. So, the criteria exist or not?

Beacause in semis 22/21 countries vote for 19 acts and 43 for 26 acts in the finals. Norway was the first iirc in their semi but was ranked poorly in the finale.

If the jury is “professional”, it should not be evaluated at 0. If this were so, then the artist did not do anything. But we saw a complex props, an interesting setting, the artist’s singing, it was great, a good song, a threat to life. For this, only 0? How so? His efforts were simply ignored

Why so many minuses? Results are public, go to eurovision site and check them for yourself. You liking the song and supporting him have nothing to do with his votes. Jamala won because both jury and audience liked it.

Hold on!

Did you see the Australian girl and her awful live performance? The juries ranked her 12th, yet Melovin was 26th. Sorry, but the Ukrainians have a valid grievance against these juries and their treatment of Melovin.

He definitely needs to try again at Eurovision. He did so well on his first try(he could have done even better,he had one of the most memorable performances of the night- top ten would have been the most fair result for that talent).I am surr that if he comes back being more experienced he will slay.

I was completely shocked to see Melovin ranked the last by OMG professional jury. It’s great that his fans all over the Europe saved him from being in the 20th places. Also, I respect him for being so confident and calm after that awful nightmare. He didn’t give up! I am looking forward to enjoying his new album!!!

Don’t blame me but from the moment he was announced to represent Ukraine, I never understood the hype with “Under the ladder”. I think neither 26th, nor 7th place is justified, but, for me, 17th place is good for a song like it. This is nothing more than a good modern pop song.

Polegend Godgarina

18th in the semi-final was a more deserving place for this Lady Gaga tribute act. Either way he was 12th on average in televote, he was near the bottom in several countries and his televote score is kinda inflated by neighbor voting and Ukrainian diaspora.

I feel utterly disgusted that the juries left him in the dust. Despite his pronunciation which has gotten a lot better there was absolutely nothing wrong with his performance. And don’t blame it on the #1 spot.

I see he has a huge following in his home country which are mostly young girls. The tour is the next right move.

I agree that 26th place was to low with the juries. I actually predicted a 11th-15th place for Ukraine in total. I also think if you have a interpreter with you , you should not sing in english, Russia did the same mistake.

But it was a strong final. “Nothing wrong with it” is no longer enough for a top ten finish. I personally wouldn’t have placed it last, but I think that 17th place overall was fair.

His followers are not only young girls. He has quite a lot of fans (both males and females) over 30, 40, even 60. You can like him or not but you can’t deny that he HAS talent, and thanks to Eurovision he got a lot of new fans who appreciated his talent and began to listen to his other songs (he has written 11 songs so far, and people liked them). Of course, he has a lot of things to improve but come on, he is only 21. I’m sure all that happened with him during Eurovision (both positive and… Read more »
