Following an award show in Moscow, the King of the Russian pop music Filipp Kirkorov recently paid a state visit to Moldova.

On the first day of his trip, he met with Moldovan president Igor Dodon at the presidential residence in Chișinău. The country was so pleased with Kirkorov’s contribution to Moldova’s music industry — he, of course, composed DoReDos’ “My Lucky Day” — that Kirkorov was awarded with a new title by the state.

He is now “People’s Artist of Moldova”! The award comes from Soviet times, but is still used as an honorific in many former Soviet countries. The award is the highest prize an artist can receive from the state for their contribution to the arts in a country. Previously, Kirkorov earned the title of “People’s Artist of Ukraine” and “People’s Artist of Russia”. He’s a big deal, y’all!

Filipp — who is known for his fun and extravagance — couldn’t just keep things formal. So president Dodon took his Russian friend back to his birth village Sadova, which has a population of about 3,000 inhabitants.

Together they celebrated a strawberry and honey festival, which is organised to promote the strawberry industry — a vivid sector in the president’s village of birth — as well as the Moldovan tourist sector. That could not take place without actually picking strawberries. Kirkorov first tried some traditional bread and then went to pick his fruits along President Dodon. He could not work without style, obviously, and wore his Dolce & Gabbana silk top with peacock print. Fly high, our bird!

Next to his fruit-picking activities, Kirkorov was busy making music with fellow artists from Moldova. While last year he saw huge potential in DoReDos, he has now jumped into the studio with two-time Eurovision participants SunStroke Project.

Writing about the collaboration on Instagram, he said: “Well, I think that we all will remember this day for a long time: rich, full of so many events, and even creatively working with the stunning musicians of [SunStroke Project] (remember their hit “HEY MAMMA” at the last Eurovision 2017 in Kiev)”

At last he added: “Wait for the news from the Moldovan music fields and that will already be soon!”.

Could this mean that Kirkorov and SunStroke Project might work together for something related to Eurovision 2019? What do you think what it could be? Let us know in the comments below!

He is gay. Russian singers can be the gayest thing on the planet, but as long as they claim to be straight, the public there accept them as straights. Dima bilan also performed on MuzTv in a pink suit with the gayest choreography that anyone can imagine.

Is this an April’s Fools Joke?!? When I read items like this I can see why some countries don’t take Eurovision seriously.

Countries that don’t take esc seriously because artists have fun doing normal things, have a big problem, and I’m sure they are countries that have a long history of not finding the winning formula.

Wiwi, seriously. Please read the attached article and watch the video below. Kirkorov is a multiple time woman abuser. It is one thing that in Russia it seems to pass as a forgivable behaviour, but from west European people I expect 0 tolerance to violence against women. Please stop promoting this man. It’s 2018 outside. This whole #Meetoo thing doesn’t bother the Eurovision community?
