They’re the international supergroup that pulls in members from Bulgaria to the United States — and they’ve promised that they’ll keep producing music together even if Eurovision is over.

And now Equinox is reminding us of their promise with an official remix EP that includes six versions of their Eurovision 2018 song “Bones”.

Bones: The Remixes EP tracklist

Bones (DJ Burlak Remix Radio)

Bones (DJ Burlak Extended Remix)

Bones (DJ Kuoga Remix)

Bones (Dagge Dance Remix)

Bones (Karaoke Version)

Bones (Instrumental Version)

Whether you’re into lounge or full-on dance, there’s something for all of your after dark tastes. The Dagge Dance Remix has a pulsating build replete with plenty of digital thrusts and future sounds.

The DJ Kuoga Remix is perhaps the most mysterious. The opening verses include addictive hand rhythms that lead to dubstep flourishes that at times sound Oriental in their execution.

Less than a week after their Eurovision grand final berth, which saw them place 14th, Bulgaria’s entry announced that they had signed with Universal Music Group.

The group broke the news on Instagram and Twitter, hinting that there are ‘new exciting projects underway’.

The brainchild of Eurovision powerhouse Borislav Milanov (who was behind Bulgaria’s 2016 and 2017 entries), Equinox consists of three Bulgarians (Zhana Bergendorff, Vlado Mihailov and Georgi Simeonov) and two Americans (Johnny Manuel and Trey Campbell).

Even though they only formed late last year, the fivesome have made it clear they are in it for the long haul. Their chemistry and harmony was instantaneous when we interviewed them at the London Eurovision Party.

While it remains a mystery what ‘projects’ Equinox will undertake as part of Universal Music Group, the group exposed other sides of their musicality beyond the “Bones”, treating fans to covers of John Lennon’s “Imagine” and Jessie J’s “Who You Are” in London.

Which remix is your favourite? How do you think their collaboration will work moving forward? Let us know down below.

I liked Equinox as a group more than I liked “Bones.” Not that it’s a bad song, but I felt more like a starting point for the group, and only gave a glimpse of its potential. I’m looking forward from hearing new material from them, and hope they release something new by the end of the year.

There was so much excitement in regard to the Bulgarian entry before it was actually released but eventually it ended up somewhere in the middle of nowhere. The song was by no means bad but there was just something a little unsatisfying about it. The concept was there, but it wasn’t a 100% developed. It’s like they tried a little too hard to make it artsy and ended up with something a tad too synthetic. What I like about the remixes (especially the first three ones) is that they are all built around the indeed very catchy hook line and… Read more »
