While Aitanawar was down in Murcia feeling the “Fuego”, another Operación Triunfo alum was busy rocking the stage in Barcelona. Alfred García — the trombone-playing singer who stole our hearts during OT 2017 — performed alongside big-time artists including Álvaro Soler and Rita Ora at Barcelona’s inaugural SHARE Festival.

The inclusive and social-oriented event kicked off at Poble Espanyol in Barcelona on Friday and concludes this evening under the motto “the best way towards happiness is sharing”. It’s not only “your song” this time, it’s everyone’s song!

Spanish fans already know the breadth and depth of Alfred’s repertoire. But Eurovision fans who may only know “Tu canción” are in for a treat. During the performance Alfred leaned more toward rock and alternative, strumming his guitar with proper band accompaniment.

The suit he wore at Eurovision is gone and Alfred feels like a freer version of himself. He slipped into a pair of black jeans, which he paired with a blue t-shirt and a bandana tied around the neck. Perfect for rocking out!

Share Fest, an event allied with multiple charities such as Open Arms and Armistice International, has been described as a pioneer in its field. It highlights the value of solidarity among young people and rewards those promoting these values with a big musical jamboree. Among the prizes are tickets and raffles to win the chance to get up close and personal with their favourite artists — Alfred included.

Even in a lineup featuring renowned artists — including Rita Ora, Sebastian Yatra and Álvaro Soler — the OT alum has been one of the most talked-about names of the day, and with good reason. It turns out that the festival was the starting point of “1016 is coming” — Alfred’s first tour, named in honour of the casting number he was given at his very first OT audition. #AlfredShare is already trending, people!

The impact that Operación Triunfo still has on the Spanish music scene is undeniable. Its most recent cast members are busy working on new material and making appearances all over the country. This new batch of Spanish stars are on the rise and taking the country by storm, proving they will be #hOThOT for years to come.
