She’s one half of Germany’s dreamy duo S!sters, which won Unser Song für Tel Aviv last Friday. And on Friday Carlotta Truman visited Thomas Mohr’s radio show without her ‘Sister’ Laurita Spinelli to rate the Eurovision 2019 entries from Italy, France, Spain and Czech Republic.

Italy was first and seemed to impress Carlotta. “It’s very modern and I like his voice a lot. You can tell that it’s an emotional song by the way he sings. The chorus is very dance-y. I really like it!”

Next was Bilal and Carlotta fell in love with his look and hair colour. “I think I’m going to dress like him and then people will confuse us. His styling is very aesthetic. I especially like the dramatic chords in the beginning with the piano. This will look amazing on the big stage!”

“Now party!” were her first words about Spain. She said doesn’t know much about Spain, but this upbeat and lively sound was exactly what she expected. It took her just 30 seconds to sing along. “This is anthemic sing along stadium action!”

Her most positive reaction went Lake Malawi from Czech Republic. She revealed that she rather dance to songs like this instead of going to the club. “I would go to one of their concerts. I think this is my favourite”.

Carlotta then went on to answer some questions about the preselection and her preparations for Tel Aviv.

She didn’t seem too happy with her performance. “I think it was noticeable that I was very nervous in the first few bars, but I think that’s alright, it’s live TV. Laurita told me that she stumbled once, but I didn’t realize it.”

Carlotta was ill during the entire rehearsal week and was unsure if she would be able to perform. After her victory, she stepped away from Instagram and other social media platforms. “We’re both trying to ignore the discussions, whether positive or negative, to not be influenced that much by everything. There are people who write us e-mails about what to change about our performance or outfits.”

She also found some nice words for Laurita. “I’m so lucky to be teamed up with Laurita and not be alone! There’s always someone on your side and we support each other. It fits perfect!”

But she literally said the same thing about the song as you did. So how does she have a bad taste?

S!sters are so underrated!
It’s such a powerful song! Their vocals, the staging, the melody, the lyrics! It’s all powerful and emotional!
As for Italy, that’s the problem with foreign languages
It’s not a happy song but the rhythm is quite fun so people get confused…
They’ll need to tell the story through the staging

Spain deserve good result. RTE took Fokas Evangelinos for stage director.

I think that her style of dark stagings doesn’t fit to Spain’s song, but who knows..

She just knows three things : black, black and black.
Miki doesn’t need black, thank you very much!

I find it so funny. I’m Romanian and I absolutely adore Miki and his song “La Venda”, but nobody believed me that I’m not a Spanish troll. I’m Romanian, and I will vote for the only song that gives life to ESC 2019.
La venda ya cayó
Y solo quedó la alegría

I love Spain this year – that and Italy are my favourites! If they sort out that final bar at the end it will be even better.

Spain is currently my favorite as well but I think I’ve talked enough times about being an American Eurovision fan that I’m not accused of being a Spanish troll but rather of being tasteless.

She didn’t mean that stadium thing in a negative way. She really liked that fun and light mood.
