¡Se viene! Spain’s 2019 representative — Miki Nuñez — has just dropped some much-awaited news for fans: the music video for “La Venda” and the final version of the song will both be released on Thursday.

However, the Spanish broadcaster — together with Miki — have both already started feeding fan hunger by publishing the opening seconds of the official video for “La Venda”.

And it seems like Miki will invite you all to escape from the stress of modern life to dance in his Spanish oasis. Think proper sun, music and a major party vibe.

That’s the date Spanish fans have marked in their calendars. Both the music video and the revamped — or merely tweaked? — version of the song will be available to stream.

RTVE decided to shorten the wait. They’ve said that the music video will be available this Wednesday on RTVE.es. Bonus: A second teaser — featuring the chorus — is coming this Tuesday. So refresh this post then. We’ll be sure to update it.

As we can see from this little teaser, the video will have an urban feel. We can see Miki walking down a residential area, which contrasts with the stress of modern cities and traffic jams. This transitions quickly to a final picture of Miki surrounded by musicians and young people. There is nothing but a sign — and a party is about to begin!

The teaser also showcases the first beats of the new version of “La Venda”. The opening has a different sound, but the same party vibe many fans fell in love with.

The Postcard

On Monday Miki and the Spanish team headed to Tel Aviv where they will film their Eurovision 2019 postcard.

Miki is rather excited about the video teaser.

“It’s going to be the first initial contact people will have with the music video. It’s like a book cover, if it catches your eye, you will read it,” he says. “Hope you guys like it, and if not, wait until seeing it entirely!”

Miki has already expressed his happiness over the result. He says that he was involved in every aspect — both musically and visually.

Fokas Evangelinos joins Team Spain

Spain has frequently struggled with their staging. But this year they’re dreaming big and have revealed Fokas Evangelinos as their artistic director. He’s the man behind the staging of winning acts like Dima Bilan (ESC 2008) and Helena Paparizou (ESC 2005).

“I’m very happy to work with Spain on Eurovision 2019. Miki has a lot of talent and is a very smily person,” Fokas says.

The beloved Mamen Márquez will also join the team as a musical director. Since the return of OT, Mamen has been the Vocal Director of the Academy.

What do you think of the new teaser of “La Venda”? Are you excited to see the music video? And what about Fokas Evangelinos shaping Spain’s staging? Tell us in the comment section below!

Spain will never have anything to do at the Eurovision festival. There are many examples that confirm it, PASTORA SOLER, RUTH LORENZO, EDURNE… Everyone knows that Barei should be in a top 5 at least, according to some music critics. The televote ruined everything. Spain is only wanted by the rest of Europe for its beaches, its sun and for its parties at a very low price, they do not even come to see the cultural richness. Definitely, Spain is different. Good for fun and bad for everyone else. I am convinced that when Spain sings at Eurovision, people go… Read more »

In Pannecouke’s defence, Manel’s voice made a weird crack (referred to as “el gallo”) and the song wasn’t that great. Also, this song is a bop, don’t spread your bitterness.

Why are they fixing something that wasn’t broken? They also tweaked Muerdeme from demo and made it worse. If they lose the spanishness of the song and make it homogeneous generic euro they will have lost its soul. And when you hire a creative director and the best he can say about his talent is that he’s “smiley”, then someone is just collecting a pay check

Those two seconds sound very promising (better than the original version and more anthemic, but they are just two seconds. Some people are complaining in Spain, but I don’t get why. Let’s wait for the full version at least.

TVE will try that Spain is not in the first positions. Spain will never win Eurovision. From Spain 🙁

This song makes me so happy every time I hear it. Spain have finally got their groove back! I haven’t put a Spanish song at the top of my list for a long time (last time I’d call their song my favorite of the year would be…jeez, 1973, although plenty come close) but this one is wonderful and charming enough to call my favorite for now. (This is very contingent on what Poland sends).

This is my number 3 right now, I love it. It’s so feel good and uptempo.
Pretty sure this is the first time Spain entered my personal Top 10.
They will totally get their best result in years in Tel Aviv if Miki pulls off a great performance

I heard a snippet somewhere where they’ve fully changed the bass of the verses. I hope RTVE won’t sabotage Spain again
