In her song she tells her lover she’d give everything for him.

And in her music video for “Kruna“, Serbia’s Nevena Bozovic strips things all the way back, in a display of devotion to her beloved.

Nevena Bozovic unveils “Kruna” music video

The clip starts with closeups of Nevena’s beautiful face.

Some music videos have grand narratives. Others abstract and expressive makeup. Here things are minimalist and instead the focus is the artist.

The Serbian star uses her expert facial expressions to emote effortlessly.

Gradually the closeups expand, revealing a two-horned tiara and Wonder Woman style gauntlets. She is a powerful woman y’all.

Everything builds to the climax. Spotlights illuminate Nevena, exploding in the big note, before she fades into nothingness.

Overall the video puts the singer’s vocal firepower front and centre.

It’s a different tack to videos from other Eurovision acts this year which have focused on complex choreography or flashy production values.

But it suits the spirit of the song and is a perfect showcase for Nevena’s talent.

In an interview she gave to wiwibloggs in Amsterdam, Nevena revealed the song is dedicated to her fiancé, who she’ll marry in the weeks before Eurovision.

Serbia on the road to Eurovision 2019

Nevena’s next promo stop is in Moscow. She’s one of a record eleven acts set to perform at the Moscow Eurovision Pre Party 2019 on April 24.

Thereafter it is onto Tel Aviv, where she’ll perform “Kruna” in Semi-Final 1.

Through her Instagram page, the star has also shared studio snaps of recording for an English version of the song, titled “The Crown”.

Nevena is an absolutely gorgeous woman, makes we wonder why I’m not a lesbian… She’s so beautiful. Oh well, about the video and song: I guess this means that the dress will stay… I really don’t like it and hoped she’d change it, but wardrobe won’t really affect her chances of qualifying. I still don’t know whether she’ll qualify, but I hope she does. It’s very borderline imo. I have her on my 6th place in Semi 1, so all my fingers are crossed!!! <3 (Btw the video is kinda weird, feels like someone is constantly shoving this poor woman… Read more »

Well, tastes are different, I really like how that jewerely suits her, because it is somehow in the contrast to her fragile appearance, it is warrior-princess style, two opposites. She has tough side ”I’m defending you with my life” and soft side ”night is long, sadness without you..” etc. Theme is inner devotion which could be both joyfull and sad, love could be pain, which explains kinda dark and mesmerizing atmosphere of the video.
That’s at least how I see it 🙂

I agree with your comment, Chloe. This is not a look I think she should pick for a red carpet, but it fits the performance quite well. It’s a costume, after all. And she looks gorgeous wearing it. But she would be gorgeous wearing anything to be honest.

Possibly because Angus is very good at his job. 🙂
Or possibly, they were aware of the video release in advance and prepared the article launch to coincide with it.

Just a shame that you guys don’t like the song a bit more. 😉
Guess this means she’s sticking with the wardrobe from Beovizija.

Don’t know if it’s just me, but I’m not a fan of music videos where all you can see is singer’s face. If I want to just see them sing it, I can watch a national final performance, or a concert. Music videos are supposed to tell a story, have a message, explain the song’s meaning, express emotions connected with the song, simply add something to the song itself.

Simple. Effective.
