The ladies in red have arrived! Poland’s first rehearsal was a story of two halves. Their first two run-throughs were beset by technical problems. It seemed that their in-ears weren’t working and the women didn’t seem particularly comfortable. The technical issues were so bad that the ladies were offered a fourth run-through. They persevered and by the end settled in.

Of course, none of that is down to them or their team. The things Poland was in charge of really slayed. Visually this takes the song to another level. The LED features alternating close-ups of each woman’s face. Their bright red lip smacks of power and sensuality. They wear brightly coloured dresses with red tops, and were crowned by ornate golden headpieces that resembled something you might see on an ancient bodhisattva.

Much of the magic here comes from a spinning camera shot that captures each woman in all her beauty. The swirling effect is somewhat dizzying, but definitely captures that “Fire of Love”.

Apparently i am the only one who can’t stand their voice?Do you really like what you hear? It is like they are digging out my brain with a screwdriver… I don’t know the polite way to say how i feel…

They went for the “weird dream” route as I wished, but the whole thing seems much more post-modern than I expected. I think their costumes are fantastic. I feel a Star Wars’ Queen Abdala vibe from them. Not a fan of huge faces on the led, but the photos are beautiful and the girls are pictured in different angles. I’ll have to wait and see how I feel about the complete concept. So far, I’m intrigued.

The costumes are awesome, the kind of thing it ends up inspiring me on something. And the faces on the leds don’t look as awkward as it happened couple years ago.

Their vocals aren’t as screechy as usual, which is good. 🙂

Poland and Czech R. are so wrong. Poland should learn a lesson or two from Moldova 2009, and Czech R. is so wrong. They made a peace song from something that is supposed to be a sad love song, about a lover that now is just a stranger (friend of a friend). It will go wrong for these two countries.

Their live is impressive, but the performance looks like a sorcery spell. In my eyes those headpieces don’t help. I see this qualifying though.

Why on Earth did they put their faces on screen – it doesn’t work. They should’ve used folklore patterns.

Why a folklore song does always have folklore patterns to be used? Come on.

I like the faces, it is done in a classy way, and it doesn’t look lazy or arrogant like in 2017.

This is the interesting one, because it can go both ways. I am really curious how Europe will react this.

I do agree in the sense that the lesser time we see the face of the singers , the lesser connection I’ll have with the song.

Staging is similar to Australia’s one in 2017 (Isaiah’s don’t come easy) with the lazy susan and face projections.
