Kate Miller-Heidke wowed the press centre with her first rehearsal of “Zero Gravity”. Australia has become a serious contender in the first semi-final and Kate is gaining momentum. She has also released the acoustic version of her Eurovision entry and it slays.
“Zero Gravity” (Acoustic) — Kate Miller-Heidke
Kate Miller-Heidke strips things down in the acoustic version, allowing her vocals to soar. Sitting at a piano, without all the glitz and glamour, her voice reaches new heights. The chorus goes to outer space — Kate’s vocals are put under the microscope and they certainly hold their own.
The “nothing holding me down” chants don’t lose their power either as Kate transitions from her chorus to the anthemic outro of the song.
Kate looks dazzling as ever, sitting at her piano like a queen on her throne. The acoustic version proves that Kate is able to nail “Zero Gravity” in all its forms.
In a statement with wiwibloggs, Kate had the following to say about her acoustic version:
“I feel like it highlights aspects of the song that are perhaps easy to miss in all the pop bombast of the finished version.”
We are certainly loving Kate’s acoustic version, enhancing and emphasising her strengths as a performer.
