Eighteen acts are competing for the last ten spots in the Eurovision 2019 grand final. There are atmospheric ballads, banging pop songs and even some traditional Sami joik in the mix. We are now opening the conversation to our readers and we want to know who you think should qualify for the grand final.
The second semi-final will take place tomorrow night and eighteen must be narrowed down to ten.

It’s fun to read all comments. I’m for one glad that it’s the whole of Europe (and more) that votes and not some individuals. ‘cause you have such diverse tastes.
But for sure the introduction of juries in 2009 was a mistake. Vote for what you like. Other people will vote diffently.
I have not watched any of the rehearsals. So, based on the audio tracks and videos that they sent to the EBU, this is who I see qualifying:

By the way, someone leaked the jury performance of Azerbaijan, and his Azeri howl iz amazing and Azerbaijan is going to the final for sure. But for anything, is that, the effect the press center is crazy about? For real?
and people still calling Sasha JB the “master of staging”, while her ideas are either a flop or recycled from her past attempts.
Hope they’ll bring new creative stage directors, and ditch these old flatteners, such as “saushage and pancake” for future ESCs.
And some of John Lundvik’s bridge climax is also shown. I don’t know if it’s SJB or not, but… that reminded me of worship performances a la charismatic churches. Probably in a good way, because it fits the song.
Who else loves Sarah McTernan and Michael Rices friendship .Seems like a real life long one be great to see both part of the Final.

Croatia will qualify , I’m not keen on the song at all. But geographically it will get leads of votes . It’s not a winner and remember Croatia always seems to qualify with these kind of songs in the past . Look at the writer of the song he qualified a few years back with a dreadful song. The same thing will happen this year .
Croatia will go to final because of jury votes, voice of this cute boy is amazing. But geografic ( televoting) Croatia is in bad position, without neighbours, not North country, not have a lot of voters like Albania, Serbia and other Balkan countries
After losing Portugal my hopes are with The Netherlands, but I would vote for Ireland if I could.

This is really open and good SF, I have more than 10 qualifiers, which means some good songs will remain in the semi. Compered to SF1 I prefer the songs in Semi 2, but to be honest, based on rehearsal videos, some countries in SF2 really disappointed with their staging. My opinion is that The Netherlands, Russia and Sweden are 100% qualifiers. Malta, Azerbaijan and Switzerland will most likely qualify, but Switzerland disappointed me with their staging even though they were my favourites before the show. I lost 3 of my Top 4 last night, so ……. Norway, it’s up to you to carry my hopes and dreams to the final!!! If they don’t qualify i’m gonna lose my mind T_T There’s a lot of songs I like this semi, but Norway, Malta, and Switzerland are the three I’m most emotionally invested in qualifying!!

(That said, I was disappointed by their performance and TOTALLY blown away by Georgia’s, so you ARE right – at the end of the night, Portugal/Hungary/Georgia were my three qualifiers that didn’t make it. Eurovision 2019 said “no manbun beard rights,” apparently ): )
I pray that Albania and Malta advance, they are the only 2 countries I desperately want to see advance, as they’re songs this year are among the best and they’re qualifications aren’t amazing.

Are people really this delusional that they think Croatia is going to QUALIFY? I haven’t watched any of the rehearsals but this is a very jury friendly semi final and countries like the Netherlands, Sweden, Macedonia, Albania and Malta are going to sweep the jury vote, and Croatia needs that extra jury support because it’s an outdated song. They’re going to be pushed out by the better songs. 14th at best.

I’m rooting for (in order of appearance) Romania, Sweden, Austria, Malta, Albania, Norway, the Netherlands and North Macedonia. Azerbaijan, Russia and Switzerland will qualify (I actually like the first 2, they deserve), so one of these 8 is already gone. Based on how disappointing the results were for me in the first semi, I guess at least 3 or 4 of mine won’t make it. I hope at least one of the spots go to Armenia then. If any of you guys could cast a vote for Albania in my name, please do it. 🙂

Yesterday was a great night, I’m happy that Cyprus qualified, but we can see that anything can happen there were a lot of surprising qualifiers.
