He’s the the German singer who brought Europe to tears in 2018 with “You Let Me Walk Alone”. And after touring across Germany all summer long, there’s still lots to come from Michael Schulte. Yesterday, he dropped his new single “All I Need”.

The track is part of his upcoming album titled Highs & Lows. This new album is set for a 25 October release.

“All I Need”: A closer look at Michael Schulte’s new single

“All I Need” is an uptempo track that combines a number of contemporary pop trends. The heavy use of percussion instruments in the first verse instantly helps the song connect with the listener. There’s also some tropical influences in the pre-chorus before it all leads to an infectious chorus.

While the first half of the song is very straightforward, he slows it down a little for the bridge. His voice is more present and the melody also switches up. But, it’s not long before it goes right back into the chorus, which is where the song really shines the most.

Lyrically, the track stresses the importance of the little things in life. While striving for big dreams and goals, it’s important that you don’t miss the opportunity to recognise the beauty of everything that lies in between. And that’s exactly what Michael Schulte embraces in his new song:

“All my life I’ve been chasing down a dream, but all the moments in between, yeah that’s all I need.”

Highs & Lows: Everything you need to know about the new record

His new album consists of fourteen tracks, including “All I Need”. Previous releases “Back to the Start“, “Never Let You Down” and “The Love You Left Behind” also appear on the record.

Michael will also hit the road again in 2020 for his Highs & Lows tour. Fans can expect to hear some of the new tracks as well as his Eurovision entry “You Let Me Walk Alone”. Tickets for the tour next March are now on sale.

If “All I Need” hasn’t found a place on your playlist yet, then now is the time to add it to your library! Following the huge success of his song “Back to the Start”, which even made it onto Spotify’s annual summer hits playlist in Germany, this could become his next smash.

More like “High and Lows” regarding Eurovision since he was the one high within a flood of lows for Germany. 🙂

Aye. Both Austria and Germany. From the lowest of lows (zero for both in 2015, the year after Conchita won), to the highest of highs (Austria 3rd and Germany 4th in 2018). After this year’s low, they need to reopen their 2018 playbook, especially Germany, because they’ve been at or near the bottom for too long, while Austria had success with a string of feel-good songs up until this past spring.
