In just over two weeks’ time, on February 8, Latvia will decide its act for Rotterdam at the grand final of Supernova 2020. Now broadcaster LTV has taken the next step in preparation for the national final. The show producer and co-host have now drawn the running order for the show. Newcomer Seleste opens, while veteran Samanta Tīna will close the line-up.

After Seleste opens the show with “Like Me”, she will be followed by former My Radiant You frontman DRIKSNA who will have “Stay”. In third place is Katrīna Bindere with “I Will Break Your Heart”, then after her is Supernova regular Edgars Kreilis with “Tridymite”.

Former Aarzemnieki singer Katrīna Dimanta has “Heart Beats” in fifth position, with Miks Dukurs after her with “I’m Falling For You”. At the bottom end of the line-up,  fan favourite ANNNA will perform seventh with “Polyester”, with folk-rock band Bad Habits is eighth with “Sail With You”. Closing the show is Supernova veteran Samanta Tīna who will perform “Still Breathing” list.

In a show with only nine acts, running order isn’t necessarily vital to a song’s success. However, in the past two years — when Supernova has used an eight-song grand final — the winners performed seventh in 2018 and eighth in 2019.

This could suggest that the running order may give Samanta Tīna an advantage. But with her Aminata-written song and currently topping the wiwibloggs readers’ poll, it seems Samanta is poised to deliver a strong result regardless of where she performs.

Supernova 2020 – running order

  1. Seleste – “Like Me”
  2. DRIKSNA – “Stay”
  3. Katrīna Bindere – “I Will Break Your Heart”
  4. Edgars Kreilis – “Tridymite”
  5. Katrīna Dimanta – “Heart Beats”
  6. Miks Dukurs – “I’m Falling For You”
  7. ANNNA – “Polyester”

  9. Samanta Tīna – “Still Breathing”

Meet the Supernova 2020 hosts

I agree. I am totally *rooting* for Samanta, but this is Latvia and they rarely go for obvious fan-favorites. It will probably be Bad Habits or Katrina Dimanta. Hope I’m wrong, but I predict that.

I would say that this is Samanta Tina’s to lose, but that’s what I thought about Elvana so I’m not so sure. I’m a bit worried for her tbh

Interesting draw. It almost looks like the order goes from the weakest link to the winner.

Samanta Tina to win – she has the most potential to not only qualify for the big Eurovision final, but also reach Top 10.

My favorite is ANNNA, very cool song, interesting vocal, simple styling, No roots vibe…

They really need a tenth act that is listenable if they wanna be anywhere other than last in their semi final. Import Aiste with some Aminata wolf song before it is too late.

what Latvian meant is that they have written Beatei Berzinai, which is the dative case of her name. The correct form is Beate Berzina. They have also misspelled Aminata.
