Danish radio listeners have spoken.Kenny Duerlund, Ben & Tan and Sander Sanchez have made the final of Dansk Melodi Grand Prix in Copenhagen.

Nine competing songs were revealed by DR on Monday. These first finalists were picked by the Danish public via DR’s P4 radio network.

The results match a poll of our readers. Kenny Duerlund with “Forget It All” (South), Ben and Tan’s “Yes” (East) and Sander Sanchez with “Screens” (North) all topped their respective regional polls.

Next Friday two further entries will receive a wildcard from a special jury initiated by the Danish broadcaster.

How will Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2020 work?

For the 50th edition, the final show will return to Copenhagen for the first time since 2008. It will be hosted by actress Hella Joof and actor Rasmus Bjerg. As per previous years, a total of ten acts will compete in the grand final.

Danish voters were only able to vote for the songs representing their local area. The pre-qualified final five songs will be released on January 31.

The final of Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2020 takes place on March 7 at the Royal Arena in Copenhagen. The show will air live from 7 p.m. on DR.

Jamie Talbot and SamSara should get the wildcards. Other than that I agree with the already qualified ones.

Very happy for Kenny and Ben&Tan, now hoping for SamSara and Emil for the wildcards. Would really be nice to have the Danish-language entry in the final now that they’ve finally managed to get a really nice one that doesn’t sound like it’s there just for the quota (love the wistful tone and the lyrics are probably the most personal and beautiful of the entries here – they’re about his deceased father).
