It started five weeks ago and acts as Norway’s national final for Eurovision.

And on Saturday, the final of Melodi Grand Prix 2020 will take place.

Now we know where each act will sing in Trondheim as NRK has announced the running order.

Melodi Grand Prix 2020 Final Running Order

You can see the running order below:

  1. Raylee – “Wild”
  2. Didrik & Emil – “Out of Air”
  3. Magnus Bokn – “Over The Sea”
  4. Akuvi – “Som du er”
  5. Kristin Husøy – “Pray For Me”
  6. Rein Alexander – “One Last Time”
  7. Tone Damli – “Hurts Sometimes”
  8. Sondrey – “Take My Time”
  9. Ulrikke Brandstorp – “Attention”
  10. Liza Vassilieva – “I Am Gay”

Speaking on the order, Melodi Grand Prix General Manager Stig Karlsen says:

“The order has been worked out with a goal of spreading the songs so that each artist and song stand out in the best possible way in the big whole. And in line with those choices, we also ensure a varied and good TV broadcast.”

The decision has also been driven by logistical challenges getting acts on and off stage.

Karlsen adds, “We always have technical and logistical challenges related to stage changes and production that also contribute to the choices we make.”

The MGP General Manager did however leave the door open for minor changes once the technical team start rehearsals in Trondheim:

“The order is now set, but there will always be a small reservation for changes when our plans are now to be tested in practice in Trondheim.”

The MGP final is set to take place outside Oslo for the first time in 31 years. It will be broadcast live from the Spektrum Arena in Trondheim.

International fans will be able to watch the show live from 19:50CET.

If Ulrikke and Dotter were going to win in their respective countries, who do you think would do better in Rotterdam?

I’m imagining Norway sending “Pray for me” and Sweden sending “Kingdom come” and the Eurovision turn into a church…
Or, the other way around, Norway sending “I am gay, and Ukraine sending “Vegan” and Eurovision will be a celebration of alternative lifestyles.

I’m not really into Ulrikke’s song. There’s still something missing in it for me. But on the other hand, I don’t like Proud and Undo, so who knows…

Closing with “I Am Gay”….*Sigh*
I know running order doesn’t matter in a smaller final but couldn’t they have given Raylee the close and get “I Am Gay” over and done with?

Ulrikka seems very similar to “Undo”, Sweden 2014. Strobing lights effect that beam down on her and then stealing a bit of the golden rain fron “Only Teardrops” 2013. Nice song. Will win and do well on May 16th……

Ulrikke and Rein. Can’t stand wild.

They seem to be really pushing Ulrikke and she’s a great singer but idk I’m not sold on the song… It reminds me of Lucie Jones and it’s definitely a good entry that would make the finale but it’s for sure not outstanding enough to make the top 10… where I feel that Rein Alexander and Raylee could make top 10 easily.

The only song I really like for Norway is “Attention” sung by Ulrikke Brandstorp. I hope she will win the ticket for Rotterdam.

Akuvi or Ulrikke for the win

Would really like to see Akuvi win, something so fresh! I am not unhappy with Ulrikke, but a change would be so nice.

It is clear the broadcaster want Ulrikke and Tone has sadly faltered. Raylee is a good opener, but unlikely she will resonate.

Imagine the final four being, Akuvi, Tone, Raylee and Ulrikke!

“The order has been worked out with a goal of spreading the songs so that each artist and song stand out in the best possible way in the big whole”. Really? Another show where the one they want to win is at #9. Australia did it, quickly followed by Latvia. Yawn. I bet poor Didrik & Emil finish 10th.

My favourite is Wild but I wonder if it’s going to keep the distance, if I’m not going to get bored with it after a while. Then it’s pray for me and then Ulrikke. But sadly those 3 are the only songs that stand out for me at the moment out of aaaaaaalll the selections that were announced. And that’s a lot. I try to keep up with it.

So it is literally a coming out party!
Liking it wild, over the sea one last time, then getting our attention and finally… Norway is gay. I see what they did there. 😉
More seriously, Ulrikke is my favourite to win followed by Raylee and Magnus Boken. I also quite like Rein, despite the song’s odd message.

lol it’s become so predictable who the broadcasters want as the winner from the running orders. too bad they don’t matter at all when the songs are as little as 10. still rooting for nrk’s favorite, ulrikke!

It is blatant favouritism but in this case we all justify it because Attention deserves the victory on a meritocratic basis.

If the gay song wins it will be wrong on so many levels. As a homosexual man i find nothing right with a straight girl singing a cliche pop song exploiting an issue for sympathy votes.

Exactly my thought ! a Eurovision song is more than a word in a title, otherwise people will start to think they just send anything with the word gay as a label in the title. Nobody wants that. It should be about the quality of the writing and the composing.

What Duncan Laurence got right last year was how to do a ballad in Eurovision the RIGHT way! Attention is NOT such a case. Icebreaker was much more adventurous and we saw what happened. Attention is actually desperate for Attention! But at its core it’s a pathetic melodramatic ballad. Same as Montaigne actually. I dont see any of them doing well at Eurovision without counting the staging factor of course. I would say that the best fir Norway would be to go with the most “fun” option cause that is what they seem to be able to do best lately.… Read more »
