Semi-final four of Melodifestivalen 2020 takes place this evening in Eurovision 2013 host city Malmö. Seven acts will perform with the hopes of snatching one of the four places that allow them to advance in the competition. If it were up to you, Hanna Ferm and Victor Crone would be going away victorious.
The top two of tonight’s semi-final will head direct to the grand final, with the next pair getting passes to Andra Chansen.
You read the media reviews, heard the snippets and watched the rehearsal clips too. We asked you to vote for your favourites and you made your voices heard.
Hanna Ferm is your favourite to win semi-final four of Melodifestivalen 2020
If it was up to you, Hanna Ferm and Victor Crone would go direkt to the final. Meanwhile, Ellen Benediktson & Simon Peyron and Nanne Grönvall would have to battle it out in Andra Chansen.
After counting a total of 1,247 votes, Hanna Ferm came out on top of the poll. Her song “Brave” received 430 votes, which is 34.48% of all those cast. Despite some mixed reaction online, it still seems that fans want to see the Melfest returnee in the grand final.
Estonia’s Eurovision 2019 representative Victor Crone finished in second place. He picked up 349 votes (27.99%) for his entry “Troubled Waters”. Crone missed out on the grand final of Melfest 2015, after loosing his duel in Andra Chansen. But, perhaps his return to the competition could see him going one step further.
Your first Andra Chansen spot goes to Ellen Benediktson & Simon Peyron. The duo came last in the audience poll of Friday’s rehearsal, but it seems y’all have more confidence in their chances of qualifying. “Surface” earned 128 votes (10.26%).
Nanne Grönvall was your other Andra Chansen qualifier. She secured 93 votes (7.46%) for her song “Carpool Karaoke”. It definitely seems a number of fans are ready to sing along with her this evening.
If the results were just up to you, then that would the final three acts would be out of the competition.
William Stridh finished in fifth place in the poll. His song “Molnljus” received 87 votes (6.98%).
Only one vote behind was Frida Öhrn. The singer earned 86 votes (6.90%) for her song “We Are One”.
Finally, you awarded Jakob Karlberg 74 votes (5.93%) for “Om du tror att jag saknar dig”.

I hope Molnljus gets a spot in AC. It’s my favorite entry tonight.
Zain/Brochner really blew it on Hanna’s staging. The colored smoke boxes are interesting in concept but they don’t look impressive on stage. Plus that choreo… eek.
I am really disappointed in Hanna’s staging. She’s just randomly walking around the stage, repetitively swivelling her dress in front of monochrome backdrops. It has “it’s been 28 entries, we’re getting bored” written all over it.
Or perhaps they just wanted it to be a simple staging with Hanna as the special effect? Not everything has to be fireworks.
Hanna didn’t need anything but herself to sell the song and she did it.
It’s like saying Il Volo or Lena stagings were nothing or bad and they were perfect for them.
Or Michal Szpak in 2016. Strong performers sell it by their own

Looking forward to this semi, but I’m even more excited for all the melo finalist songs to be released afterwards!
There’s 2 obvious qualifiers here
Name bias again, people vote based on Holding You rather than this. Surprised nobody notices the rip offs in both songs…
I am slightly concerned about Surface, just because the staging seems slightly empty.
I think the trend established by the Melfest Twitter will be broken this week and we will see a non-English song break past the 2nd round of voting and to AC.
Apart from 1st place (Hanna) I think 2nd-4th are pretty much up for grabs, definitely the most open heat in a long long time.
