Tonight it was time for the second semi-final of Serbia’s national final Beovizija 2020. Twelve more acts took to the stage in the hopes of reaching Sunday night’s final, but only six could make it through.

Beovizija 2020: Semi-Final 2 Qualifiers

Six acts advanced to the grand final on Sunday. These were determined by both a professional jury and a televote. In no particular order, the top six of the night that advanced to the final were:

    • Hurricane – “Hasta la vista”
    • Bane Mojićević – “Cvet sa Prokletija”
    • Ana Milenković – “Tajna”
    • LIFT – “Samo mi kaži”
    • Milan Bujaković & Olivera Popović – “Niti”
    • Naiva – “Baš, baš”

Immediately after the qualifiers had been announced, each of them drew their position in Sunday’s grand final. Milan and Olivera will perform first followed by fan-favourites Hurricane.

LIFT, Ana Milenković and Naiva will perform in eighth, ninth and tenth respectively, with Bane Mojićević closing the show in twelfth place.

Beovizija 2020 Semi-Final 2: The Show

In total, Beovizija 2020 has 24 entries — 12 in each semi. Hosted by Dragana Kosjerina and Jovan Radomir, with Kristina Radenković and Stefan Popović in the green room, the Serbian national selection showcased everything that the Balkan nation had to offer.

The semi-final kicked off with an energetic performance from the band LIFT and was wrapped up with a quaint and sophisticated performance by Milan Bujaković and Olivera Popović.

Moreover, this semi-final saw Beovizija heavyweights Hurricane take to the stage to perform their fiery “Hasta la vista”. Serbian national selection veteran Ivana Jordan, who took part back in 2006, was also competing.

1. LIFT “Samo mi kaži”
2. Bane Mojićević “Cvet sa Prokletija”
3. Balkubano “Svadba velika”
4. Bojana Mašković “Kao muzika”
5. Naiva “Baš, baš”
6. Rocher Etno Band “Samo ti umeš to”
7. Lazar Živanović “Puklo je nebo”
8. Ivana Jordan “Vila”
9. Nenad Ćeranić “Veruj u sebe”
10. Hurricane “Hasta la vista”
11. Ana Milenković “Tajna”
12. Milan Bujaković & Olivera Popović “Niti”

On top of the 12 competing acts, in true Beovizija fashion, we were treated to a star-spangled list of opening and interval acts. Much like last year, numerous Eurovision stars from previous years, including Nevena Božović, Sanja Ilić & Balkanika, Tijana Dapčević, and Bebi Dol, took to the stage once more to entertain the crowd.

Opening the show was Serbia’s act for the 2019 edition of Eurovision, Nevena Božović, who gave a haunting rendition of the song that took her to Tel Aviv last year – “Kruna”.

Those six lucky qualifiers will be joined by the six who made it out of yesterday’s first semi-final, bringing us to twelve finalists still in the running for Rotterdam. Very soon, 24 will come down to one and Serbia will have their entrant for Eurovision 2020

What do you make of the six who advanced to the final? Are you surprised by the results? Did your favourite make the final cut? Let us know your opinion in the comments down below!

Milan Bujakovic and Olivera Popovic, igor Simic, Naiva in final are better than Hurricane in term of song, live vocal.

Sanja, Ksenija and Ivana, if you a reading this please go on vocal rest, have lots of warm water and honey and a good sleep tonight (or maybe you are already sleeping? I’m from New Zealand so it’s Sunday afternoon here) and with some vocal warm up tomorrow you will slay! Fingers crossed!

Hurricane has a so much potential its insane. This thing after the refrain that sounds like a gun is amazing, they just need a more polished camera work. SJB would do a great job

Running order always matters. But it matters more when theres 26 songs than 12.

Moldova doesn’t count and it’s even the proof that it was rigged. Iceland only had 5 songs to choose from.

When it comes to the jury votes tomorrow, I assume, best spot is Neda. Because neither Andrija, no Hurricane showed some great live shows. And in other hand Neda slayed two days ago. And she is between those two acts tomorrow.

HURRICANE ??
For everyone bashing them for vocals, Sanja has a sour throat for some time, It is not easy to dance like that and sing at the same time. Eleni wasn’t a perfect singer either but she had backing vocals behind the scene to cover it up while they are each other’s backing vocals

So maybe they should think about a backing vocalist who can actually back them up vocally

Eleni had 5 performers on stage, and with the total max of 6 how many “backing vocals behind the stage” you think she could have had? Please check your facts first.

She did have backing vocalists, that voice wasn’t all hers and everyone who isn’t deaf can hear it.

Everyone who can count to 6 can calculate that she couldn’t have had more than 1 backing vocalist. Btw, Fuego performance was slick perfection, while this was a tropical storm of category 3.

Hurricane should have gone with less trashy costumes and staging. I get that it’s not a song to be conservative, but the whole thing was a little on the nose. The vocals were good, but there’s room for improvement. Overall still my winners, but there’s competition now and that running order ain’t helping.

Do you even remember that the guy from Slovenia was silent, while this was a duet with the guy in the lead? So I really don’t see what makes you say “copy of Slovenia”.

Hurricane has plastic looks, trashy song out of 2001 and huge mess of a staging. And yet people still think they should win. Puzzling.

After the live performances Serbia soars to number 30 at the bookies. Maybe we should think about not sending Moje 3 after all…? There are other options.

It’s hard to top a well-argumented comment such as yours, but do you really think that a song that, after all the hype, manages to drop to 1:67 immediately after the live performance is the way to go?

I’m not taking ESC too seriously, I just don’t like when my country embarrasses itself when we have quality music too. OK, in ESC every country embarrasses itself once in a while, and we have had a streak of not very successful, but still relatively decent entries lately. So, picking an embarrassing entry with zero chances of good placement is not what I’d do, but, what the hell… the worst thing is that this is the taste of the majority.

The juries tend to sabotage Serbia’s ranking – making it around 5 places lower than just televoting alone would get it.

It’s 25 but how is this related to hurricane if they haven’t won yet? It’s not like Serbia was top 20 in the odds before the live performances.

Milan S.

Reply to  lol

It’s 30, not 25 (oddschecker), and it was higher – not exactly top 10 but if I remember correctly, it was somewhere around 15 (we can see if odds history is available somewhere), after the reports that Hurricane is the landslide favourite in Serbia, that they are huge in the region and finally after the studio version was released. But right now the odds are drifting, we are red all over and two bookies currently even offer 1:93! It’s good money if you really believe in Hurricane, so take this as a friendly tip 😉

You’re just lying at this point lol. Serbia was only around 15 before the Beovizija songs were released, it left the top 20 after that. It’s 25 atm on the more accurate site. Also do you think Serbia will jump to top 15 if ”Niti” wins or? Lol… You don’t have to like Hast La Vista but the song clearly has the most potential out of all other Beovizija songs, especially now that most countries picked a ballad… And Serbia is not red atm so that’s another lie,
