In the space of just one week, the class of 2020 almost doubled. And while everyone was caught up in Icelandic conspiracy theories and Balkan weather phenomenons, one act snook up the centre to take top spot in our poll — Greece’s Stefania.

Stefania is your favourite Eurovision 2020 act so far

In less than 24 hours, a massive 16,305 votes were cast. And of those, 2,623 went Stefania’s way. All in all, the “Superg!rl” took 16.09% of all votes cast.

After two weeks in pole positon, Lithuania’s The Roop must make do with number two. In fact, the “On Fire” group weren’t that far off making it three turns on top. But 2,158 votes just wasn’t enough.

Also dropping one spot is Albania’s Arilena Ara. The “Shaj” songstress attracted 2,024 votes or 12.41% of all votes cast.

Romania is the second-highest of the new entries. Roxen sits at fourth with “Alcohol You”. She’s the last act to receive a four-figure vote — 1,281.

The top five is completed by viral sensation Daði & Gagnamagnið with “Think About Things”. The Icelandic group took 977 votes or 5.99% of all votes cast.

At the other end of the table is Slovenia’s Ana Soklič with “Voda” and Moldova’s Natalia Gordienko with “Prison”. They got 104 and 103 votes respectively.

What do you think of the current standings? Does Greece deserve to be at number one? Let us know below.

I think the pollsters go with a mix of good mainstream and cultural Eurovision songs. Whether less Eurovision fanatical fans prefer acts like Albania and Lithuania over the big five remains to be seen. Staging in Rotterdam is going to be even more important so I think some of the lower rated songs will rise inevitably.

This is not Balkan ballad and its not generic. The only thing what is generic is your comment saying that is generic balkand ballad.
It is ballad, but POP BALLAD, classical with harmony. And its not generic, its timelase. You might understand Croatian fully but apperently you dont understand meanings.
Anyway, you might not like it, but hey at least try to educate yourself about music before writing nonsense.

Albania as usual very high at such polls. Don‘t know why albanian people (same goes for italian and spanish) have to hype their own songs as hell.

I’ve come to realise that with these ‘vote for your favourite Eurovision act so far’ polls, the most recent song to have just come out always seems to win. Don’t take these weekly polls too seriously people. Wake me up when March & April ends…. 🙂

The biggest surprises of this poll for me are:
Australia all the way down at 11 (disappointingly) and the UK all the way up at 12 (pleasantly).

Semi Final 1 is going to be such a bloodbath. I really hope Ukraine goes to the Final. It looks like there will be some really good or fun songs not surviving SF1 and that is such a shame because SF2 is still looking comparatively much weaker.

Ok guys I’m greek and I know I was “aggresive” on supergirl’s article but even I know that the poll was rigged by Greeks, it happens every year. Yeah the song I believe could win but from the comments I saw (which are not even 1% of total eurovision viewers) it would end up between 10th-15th. Ukraine is still my number 1, the song just makes me feel like such a badass lol

Onar

I don’t think the poll was rigged at least not by the Greeks. Don’t forget that Stefania was born in the Netherlands and has fans there.

P.S. Let’s not kid ourselves, that song can’t win. I like Stefania, she’s lovely but the song is weak.

Maybe in your opinion the song can’t win but let’s wait until May to see the opinion of all 200+ million viewers.

Although i dont believe its a winner, Greece can pull a switzerland 2019 card, their song is as catchy as she got me. Live perfomance will elevate or break this

I am a middle age gay man so for sure I am not the target group of the Greek entry. Its more an entry for kids among 15 to 25 and for parents like my mother that loves both the song and especially this beautiful girl that could be the daughter she (thinks) she never had 🙂
For all the above reason I would not be surprised if Greece wins the entire thing this year.

I suspect the main reason the bookies don’t rate Greece higher is because we have yet to hear a live performance of the song. Sure, it sounds great on tape, but how well can she sing it live?
