NR. 1 MARGARET BERGER — “I FEED YOU MY LOVE” (NORWAY). Because of the beat and the dark lyrics – that makes it less «eurovision-cheesy» then a lot of the other songs.

So hard to choose as there are some great songs here. Poli just edges it over Luca Hanni. All together now: tiny rooster! (Misheard lyric of the day)

I need the poll for 5th places only because Suus would win it by far – JA.

I voted for Denmark 2010, Norway 2013, Belgium 2017 and Switzerland 2019. Belgium 2017 is my favourite because I think they bought something completely different to the contest and City Lights doesn’t sound like a run of the mill Eurovision song (though I’m happy for Portugal winning that year, I still stand by the belief that I think Belgium should have instead). The same I’d say for Norway 2013.

Some great songs in the list!
I voted for the 2 Belgians, which are 2 of my favourite ESC songs of all time

This was so hard! So many good songs that I still listen to regularly. In the end I went with Blanche and City Lights, can’t see myself ever getting sick of hearing that song.

I still can’t listen 2011 and 2012 fourth placers, I don’t know why I just can’t like either one.

Belgium on the other hand was perfect in 2015 and 2017

Starting from 2012, the fourth place have been a staple synonym with quality and very interesting/ “indie” music. Although, putting Switzerland 2019 as quality or “indie” might be quite a stretch. Still the performance just elevated that song to the point of iconicness in a matter of seconds.

No shade on Chanée and N’Evergreen or Mika but those two definitely are the odd ones out that doesn’t really belong with the level of all the rest of the list. Oh well, at least Mika’s sand artist was definitely cool to watch.

Man I love most of this entries more than those from the bunchs of winner, 2nd place and 3rd place!

So hard to choose right know. My two absolute favs here are Belgium 2017 and Germany 2018, those are my votes. Both are, in fact, in my top 10 songs since I watch the contest.

My top:

  1. Belgium 2017
  2. Germany 2018
  3. Armenia 2014 (song was perfect, singer could’ve done better)
  4. Switzerland 2019
  5. Belgium 2015
  6. Norway 2013
  7. Bulgaria 2016
  8. Denmark 2010

9-10. The other two.

For me it has to be Blanche, hands down. A song that I still listen to almost every day, one of the best of the decade. But all of the other entries are amazing as well, this is an incredibly strong set of songs!

OK, thanks. But do you mean Hungary 2019 for the departed father and not the 2018 punk/rock track?!

Loic Nottet is just one of the most talented artists (if not THE most talented) to have graced the Eurovision stage in recent years, period.

Norway 2013 is my #1. Honorable mentions are Azerbaijan 2012 and Belgium 2015/2017.
I see “Angel” is dead last in this poll, as it should be…

Some of my ultimate favorites ended-up as 4th. I voted for 3 masterpieces which should have won – Germany 2018, Belgium 2015 and Azerbaijan 2012 (all three are in my top 3 of their highly competitive years). Belgium 2017 and Norway 2013 are also incredibly strong. Also, in a year as weak as 2011, Ukraine really stood out enough to be in my top 10. All the others are good too, with Denmark 2010 as the only one which is merely okay. So, this category is overall amazing! 🙂

4th place is notorious for having some of the best songs. In the last five contests alone, Loïc (‘15), Poli (‘16), Blanche (‘17), and Luca (‘19) had some of the best songs to ever grace the Eurovision stage! My top five fourth-placers include those songs as well as HaSheket SheNish’ar from 2005.

Holy crap these are so strong. I love every single song from 2012-2019, not a single bad song in there. 2011 was forgettable and 2010 too cheesy for me, but every one of these other songs are genuinely amazing.
