Semi-final two of Melodifestivalen 2021 takes place this evening. Seven acts will perform with the hopes of snatching one of the four places that allow them to advance in the competition. If it were up to you, Dotter and Anton Ewald would be going away victorious.

The top two of tonight’s semi-final will head direct to the grand final, with the next pair getting passes to andra chansen (second chance).

You read the media reviews, listened to the audio snippets and watched the rehearsal clips. We asked you to vote for your favourites and you made your voices heard.

Dotter is your favourite to win semi-final 2 of Melodifestivalen 2021

After counting a total of 1,547 votes, we can reveal that Dotter and Anton Ewald are your favourites to take the top two spots in the semi-final and go direkt till final.

Dotter took first position, and by quite some margin. She earned over 50% of the votes, with her song “Little Tot” picking up 829 votes (53.59% of the total). After coming runner-up last year by only one point, many fans are hoping she might be able to go one better in 2021. For now at least, it seems y’all think she’s comfortably sailing through the final.

Securing your second spot in the grand final would be Anton Ewald. Many of you are getting onboard with his “New Religion” and hoping to see him return to the grand final for the third time. You awarded Anton 213 votes, which is 13.77% of the total.

Securing your two spots in andra chansen are Patrik Jean and Eva Rydberg & Ewa Roos.

Patrik Jean might be a Melfest debutant, but he’s certainly winning over a number of fans with the snippets of his entry “Tears Run Dry”. The singer picked up 159 votes (10.28%).

Following closely behind are Eva Rydberg & Ewa Roos. The duo have been creating a fair amount of buzz with their song “Rena rama ding dong” and could prove to be one of the standouts of the night. In this poll they earned 147 votes (9.5%).

Unfortunately, that means the other three acts would be sent home if the results were up to you.

Julia Alfrida finished in fifth. Her entry “Rich” managed to pick up 72 votes (4.65%).

In sixth place are WAHL feat. SAMI. They’ll perform the 1000th song in the history of Melodifestivalen tonight. Despite this historic fact, they wouldn’t be one of your preferred qualifiers. “90-talet” received 68 votes (4.4%).

Finally, in seventh position is Frida Green. Her entry “The Silence” only managed to muster up 59 votes (3.81%).

Poll results: Who should win semi-final 2 of Melodifestivalen 2021?

  1. Dotter – “Little Tot” – 53.59%  (829 votes)
  2. Anton Ewald – “New Religion” – 13.77%  (213 votes)
  3. Patrik Jean – “Tears Run Dry” – 10.28%  (159 votes)
  4. Eva Rydberg & Ewa Roos – “Rena rama ding dong” – 9.5%  (147 votes)
  5. Julia Alfrida – “Rich” – 4.65%  (72 votes)
  6. WAHL feat. SAMI – “90-talet” – 4.4%  (68 votes)
  7. Frida Green – “The Silence” – 3.81%  (59 votes)

Total Votes: 1,547

As any Eurovision fan knows, the fan favourites don’t always end up succeeding. In fact, the top three from our semi-final one poll all ended up failing to qualify. Here’s hoping the same doesn’t happen to your favourites this week.

Dotter is going to final quite likely, but the overall quality in songs has been very weak. For me this is shaping like the weakest Melfest year that I’ve watched. Family thinking same way also..

And the performance’s have backtrack too loud, so we can’t even hear the singer (Kadiatou for example) almost at all.

I think it’s gonna be Dotter and Anton DTF, and Patrik and Sami&Wahl AC. Poor Julia though, I love that song!!

For fun I went back to look at the last two wiwi polls for the semi-finals that Dotter participated in, from 2018 and 2020. In 2018 with ‘Cry’, Dotter came first in the poll with 45% (675) of the votes. However, she came 6th in the semi-final. In 2020 with ‘Bulletproof’, Dotter came second in the poll with 20% (251) of the votes. She went Direkt till Final and came second in the contest overall. This year she is first in the polls with just over 53% (829) of the poll votes. Will she go DtF? I certainly hope so!… Read more »

Hi wiwi! Can you please stop writing the poll results as the header. It is kind off a spoiler for those who doesn’t listen to the snippets and want to watch the competition unbiased by others opinions

Last week the two songs which were bottom 2 were top of this poll, but I think Dotter will make it through. Expect the second song Direct to the final it will be probably in Swedish.
