She’s the Festivali i Këngës champion who won the right to represent Albania at Eurovision 2021. Now, Anxhela Peristeri is teasing the revamped version of her song that she will take to Rotterdam. The superstar singer will release the new version of “Karma” some time in early March
Anxhela Peristeri to sing new version of “Karma” at Eurovision 2021
The songstress teased the updated version of “Karma” in a new post on Instagram. The video — shot in Kosovo by Onima — shows Anxhela donned in a billowing white gown as a snippet of the revamped song plays.

Judging by the snippet, the “Karma” revamp will maintain the traditional Balkan sounds we hear on the original version, with some extra flare on the production to give the track a more powerful and modern sound. The lyrics also remain in the original Albanian.
The video ends with a slate reading “coming soon”. There is not an exact release date yet, but we can expect to hear the “Karma” revamp some time in early March.
It is somewhat of a tradition for Albanian Eurovision stars to revamp their songs ahead of the contest. That’s because the Albanian selection show Festivali i Këngës is a music competition in its own right with slightly different rules to those of Eurovision. An artist might alter their song if it’s over the three minutes in length — this was the case with Eugent Bushpepa’s “Mall”, which was trimmed down from four minutes at FiK to three minutes at Eurovision. Alternatively, an artist might revamp their song if they want to make it appeal to a wider audience. In 2020, FiK 58 winner Arilena Ara translated her Albanian-language song “Shaj” to the English “Fall From The Sky” for Eurovision.
At Eurovision, Anxhela Peristeri will perform “Karma” in the second half of the second semi-final.

This simply must qualify.
looks too dated already. sorry
Yet Salvador Sobral wasn’t??
Finally Albania realized that they can revamp the song without completely remaking it. Sounds like an improved production of Karma from that snippet. Great!
Um, in general or the artists that are representing those countries this year?
Based on these few seconds, it seems it won’t be a radical revamp, they’ll just “clean” the background track and rework the instrumentation. I’m glad they’re doing that, because this was a rare case of an Eurovision entry that wasn’t sounding “produced enough”.
Can’t wait. When I first heard Karma I immediately knew it needed a revamp. It’s currently one of my least favorites at ESC 2021.
Now this is what a revamp should sound like!
This will slay, mark my words!
I hope so, especially because it will be kept in Alabanian
Fingers crossed.
I think so too. The juries will get it through
Those revamps are so spit to the face to the people that voted… You chose the song and stick to it…
Next The Roop will sing ballad
Barbara Pravi will do some electro dance song
Dark Channel will sing country music
Are you serious? It’s exactly the same song the people voted for… with an improved production. But still the same song. By the way, in case you don’t know, the outcome of the Festivali i këngës was decided by a 7-member jury panel, so not by “the people”…
I mean in general talking especially last year how many revamps were there… So long time to make a song and still have to change it… Should really implement a rule, getting out of hand… And downvote me as much as you want but personally that would be insane. Same thing people who voted for Maruv in 2019 they should of got their money back cuz of delusional contracts after the show it’s not legal… in general need to make it more strict.
What a nonsensical comment. Revamps keep the original song and only changes small details of it. Almost everyone does it and it it’s a good thing. Songs typically sound better with a revamp. A revamp is like a final draft to an essay. The original song is like the rough draft.
Well that would be my biggest gripe with *drastic* revamps and translations when televote is involved. People should have an idea what they are giving their votes for. I’m not talking a slight re-tweak here and there. I’m talking cases when Perralle becomes Fairytale and such. However, in Albania people didn’t even get to vote, so nobody is being mislead at the televote. Also, the snippet sounds about 95% the same, only a bit stronger production-wise. So, no harm done whatsoever.
Here we go again…. *Pukes*…. How many times and for the same countries especially…
I have a good feeling about this one.
I love it whenever they keep their entries in Albanian, even though the Fall From The Sky revamp was surprisingly good as well.
Speaking of Arilena, I would’ve loved to see her again this year, but yeah, anyway, wish the best of luck to Anxhela.
It is just not eurovision season without an Albanian revamp. Song just needs a bit more oomph, at the momment it just plods along quite nicely but ultimately takes you nowhere.
wait, I love that instrumentation….this might climb a lot higher on my ranking
