The penultimate show of Melodifestivalen 2021 takes place later today. Eight acts are set to battle it out in Andra Chansen. They’ve been placed into four duels, with the winner of each face-off being granted a ticket to the grand final next week.

Earlier this week, we asked you to vote for who you wanted to win each of the Andra Chansen duels.

After counting over 2,600 votes in each of the polls, we can reveal the four acts that you’ve chosen as your preferred duel winners.

Full results: Who should win each Andra Chansen duel of Melodifestivalen 2021?

Duel 1: Alvaro Estrella vs Lillasyster

This first duel was the closest one of all four. There was only 2.22% separating Alvaro Estrella and Lillasyster. In the end, it was the former who secured the most votes, picking up 1,358 (that’s 51.11% of the total). Alvaro is hoping to get everyone dancing with his Latin-pop number “Baila Baila” and once again return to the Melfest grand final for the second year in a row.

That means, coming a very close second are Lillasyster. The rock band quickly rose up the Swedish Spotify chart following their appearance at semi-final one, so they definitely can’t be counted out. Their song “Pretender” secured 1,299 votes (48.89% of the total).

Poll results

  1. Alvaro Estrella – “Baila Baila” – 51.11%  (1,358 votes)
  2. Lillasyster – “Pretender” – 48.89%  (1,299 votes)

Total Votes: 2,657

Duel 2: Paul Rey vs Frida Green

Things were much more clear cut for duel two. Here, Paul Rey came out on top with his sophomore Melodifestivalen entry “The Missing Piece”. It seems y’all think the Swedish star has enough of the puzzle solved to secure him a spot in the grand final.

In second place is Frida Green. Her ballad “The Silence” earned 863 votes (32.86%). Making it through to andra chansen on her first outing at the contest, Frida has managed to connect with a number of viewers. But, if the results were up to you then the silence would fall upon her run this year after tonight.

Poll results

  1. Paul Rey – “The Missing Piece” – 67.14%  (1,763 votes)
  2. Frida Green – “The Silence” – 32.86%  (863 votes)

Total Votes: 2,626

Duel 3: Eva Rydberg & Ewa Roos vs Clara Klingenström

Duel three features the only two Swedish language songs competing in this year’s andra chansen. And the one you want to make it to the grand final comes from Eva Rydberg & Ewa Roos. The duo have become a fan-favourite with the fun and catchy song “Rena rama ding dong”. Y’all awarded them 1,660 votes (60.45%).

Finishing second in the poll for this duel is Clara Klingenström. One of the most recent qualifiers to andra chansen after competing in semi-final four, her song “Behöver inte dig idag” made it into the top 40 of Sweden’s Sverigetopplistan chart this week. Clara received 1,086 votes in the poll (39.55%).

Poll results

  1. Eva Rydberg & Ewa Roos – “Rena rama ding dong” – 60.45%  (1,660 votes)
  2. Clara Klingenström – “Behöver inte dig idag” – 39.55%  (1,086 votes)

Total Votes: 2,746

Duel 4: Klara Hammarström vs Efraim Leo

The final duel had the widest margin in terms of vote percentage. And the act who received the most votes is Klara Hammarström. After failing to qualify through the semi-final last year, Klara has already achieved a better result in 2021. But no doubt she’s itching to make it all the way to the final. Her pop ballad “Beat of Broken Hearts” was the favourite of 1,803 readers (68.79%).

If Klara did win this duel, that would mean we’d have to say goodbye to Efraim Leo. He’s delivering a pure pop sound with his upbeat song “Best of Me”. Interestingly, y’all initially thought he wouldn’t qualify after voting in our semi-final four poll. Could Efraim pull off another upset and squeeze through to the grand final?

Poll results

  1. Klara Hammarström – “Beat of Broken Hearts” – 68.79%  (1,803 votes)
  2. Efraim Leo – “Best of Me” – 31.21%  (818 votes)

Total Votes: 2,621

Why did more people vote for Alvaro’s extremely cliché Spanish-like song than for Lillasyster? Lillasyster’s song is infinitely better.

at first i am in teamklara but she is in my opinium not the favorite because she must sing against one of these boys with a bigger girl fanbase.
at second i am in teamclara but it will be very tough to come through for her against the old ladies.
both songs will give the final some (much needed) magic because unique songs.
good luck both of them. 🙂

This might be a very unpopular opinion, but my favorite of the entire edition this year must be Clara Klingenström. “Behöver Inte Dig Idag” is pure gold and the staging only elevates it.

The song is also one of my favorites, but the staging and her outfit (a glitter dress with sneakers?) drag it down.
