All the countries of Eurovision 2021 have now revealed their final songs — except for Belarus, which has been asked to rework its song’s lyrics over political content. The odds have changed with each and every premier. But now that the releases are over, bar that one outlier, is the competition looking clear?

On Monday Malta — and its gorgeous singer Destiny — released “Je me casse”, her Beyoncé-meets-Charleston number about female empowerment. The bookies have responded. Four days ago she had odds as high as 16/1 according to Eurovision Oddschecker and was listed as eighth most likely to win. Hours after her release, as I type this, she is now second favourite to win with odds as low as 26/5. That is how you climb!

But Malta is not the only country moving up the oddstable. Beautiful Victoria from Bulgaria with her song “Growing Up Is Getting Old” is a solid third with odds as low as 6/1. In an interview with Wiwibloggs, which we published on Sunday, Victoria shared that her stage director Marvin Dietmann believed that “Growing Up Is Getting Old” had the best potential for staging among her possible entries, suggesting big things are in store.

Oddschecker presents odds using the fractional system. So, for example, betting £8 on Bulgaria to win with odds of 8/1 would win the betmaker £8, for a total profit of £7. The list below shows the odds as of 22:00 CET on 15 March.

Eurovision 2021 odds: Malta now second favourite to win

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by wiwibloggs (@wiwibloggs)

At the time of writing, both Malta and Bulgaria are in a sea of blue, meaning that the bookies are growing more confident of their chances of success. Most other countries in the Top 10 are red, which means the bookies are growing less confident in their chances.

Even as the odds rise and fall, Switzerland still remains the favourite. And France’s Barbara Pravi is holding steady as the act considered fourth most-likely to win.

Iceland’s Daði Freyr continues to drift, having moved from contest favourite before Switzerland’s reveal, to fourth shortly after the leak of his song “10 Years” and now to eighth favourite with his song officially revealed.

Do you agree with the odds? Do you think Malta could win the contest? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below!

The best song 2021 is Portugal … This wiwibloggs don,t mean nothing… Salvador Sobral was the 23rd place to the Wiwi Jury on April 28, 2017… And he ended up with 758 points, the best result ever by far.

“Tout l’univers” was used today on a very popular/soapy/influent tv show here in Spain. And locals apperenetly really liked it. Some talk on twitter. Many comments on youtube as well. That’s how the song also went to 1 on Itunes. Whoever did it.. was smart move I guess.

For me it seems like the odds this year are really nervous. Lacking a real sure winner they go for what they know. The Swiss entry is similar to Arcade and it won. The Maltese entry has some similarities to Netta and it won. Italy, Bulgaria and Sweden usually ends up high and their songs are not too bad. So let’s bet for them. What about France? The usually also get high interest so let’s bet for them. The song is also nice. Russia usually also is high but it fell when the song came out. It is too difficult.… Read more »

Out of the top 5? We will see.
Always high at this time of the year when we get all the songs in competition? Not so sure.

Crash in televoting maybe not this year who knows, but it seems it would make so happy.

France is all the time overrated by ESC fans. French contestants are all the time predicted in the top 5 and they finish all the time (except in 2017 because they had finally a positive song) out of the top 10… Their problem is that they are often in the top 5 of a lot of people but rarely the top 1… And most people do not vote for the 5 countries they like but only for one …

Always!? I don’t think, in 2020 they weren’t, in 2019, 2018, 2017 neither. I’m talking about the odds. In 2018 and 2019 there are a little rehearsal effect for France in the odds but it didn’t last long. The last time that France was well placed in the odds was in 2016. And sorry but 2016 2017 2019 were positive songs so “finally a positive song” I don’t get your point, France has send moustache and ola ola olé among others to esc for example too they are not the most negative songs it seems. I have nothing against France, I just want to highlight that this is the same story again and again. They start as favourites in the odds (probably because they can seduce juries) and they finish each time out of the top 5… 1) Please look at the odds, the national ESC fan committees and the votes in “My Eurovision Scoreboard” and you will see that Amir, Billal, Madame Monsieur, Amaury, Patricia Kaas and even Anggun or Alma were in the top 5 once all the songs were out. 2) I should have said finally a QUALITY positive song in 2016… Read more »

Pretty insane to open up the bettings this early. Placing bets on (in most cases) music videos is – well, insane. We all know it will both sound and look VERY different when being performed live, and quite a few singers wont live up to the expectations.

Bookmakers don’t care who wins, who bets etc. They’re just there to facilitate a market mostly. While they might set odds at a starting price, they move mostly on demand from the fans after that.

I totally agree. Judging by the released videos can be quite misleading. I per example fear for Destiny’s performance in Rotterdam cause I don’t think she’s matured enough to carry this type of song through. She seemed out of place in several instances during the music video even with the superbly hyperproduced video.

I think Tout l’Universe is being overrated, the average viewer may see it as Arcade 2.0. (both songs are made by the same composer/lyricist). And the audience might see Je me casse as another Toy. This might hurt the chances of Switzerland and Malta. It pains me to see Italy and San Marino so underrated. Italy offers something different, a rock band who is not afraid of having commercial success (which is a rarity nowadays) and thus brings variety to the contest this year. San Marino offers a summer bop with a international star as guest. And I thought 2020… Read more »

Actually the middle part of both songs Arcade and Tout L’Universe are so similar that it is a kind of rip off. I played both songs to my family yesterday and they all thought the same they are to similar. But Arcade is more effective and pleasant to listen to. So I am sorry but I think it would be a shame if the same song won twice. The Swiss singer is great but for me the similarities are too much.

you should listen to both of them in a row. The chorous is hauntingly similar. It is the “ah ah “part in Arcade and the chorous “Tout l’ universe” that basically are the same. I think it is a shame the Swiss team did that to the singer. The artist is great should have had a more original song. Now it gives you the feeling of being original. The French language is also amazingly beautiful and makes you the feeling like it is different. But still the similarities are so strong that it can’t be a coincidence.

Vocally she is undeniably amazing but I don’t like the song. It doesn’t have that wow factor. If she wins it won’t be because of the song but because of her personality. Also this woman empowerment theme is getting ridiculous this year. I am all for it don’t get me wrong but it won’t have the same impact if most of female artists sing about the same thing.
Good luck Malta. I’m routing for the small nations this year.

I think people are sleeping on Italy. In the odds they are at a respectable fifth place, but I see that in the comments Italy is not considered or considered extremely overrated. I believe instead that this year the Italian entry can make it because in addition to being a respectable and credible musical proposal, it is sung by a very attractive group, both from the point of view of image and talent. Among other things the “surprise” factor should be considered because no one would expect a song like this from Italy and the type of entry is one… Read more »

Same logic could apply to Lithuania and France…

All data is in favor of Switzerland like it was for the 2 previous winners, we can’t ignore that…I still think it’s open but for the moment Switzerland is on the way of the victory more than the others, and we all know how it ended during the last two contests, the bookmakers were right about the winners when all songs were released, so very soon and even before the rehearsals.

You cant take only in account the last 2 years. And what about 2011, 2014, 2016, 2017 ? As the same period in 2016 and 2017, Ukraine was 6th and Portugal 5th in the odds, Conchita was really far in the odds too. And still good to remember that if he won, The Netherlands never finish in the first position, in semi or in final, in the televote and jury vote, which show the totally open years 2019 was. He won because he was the most regular in vote.

I’m happy to see Albina’s progress though! I always wondered why she’s relatively low at Betting Odds, but I was sure that it was because people were playing safe with so many to be published. Honestly, I don’t think Malta are going to be anywhere near this. A top ten result would be great for them and I wouldn’t even put money on that. I also don’t think Victoria’s song is good enough to guarantee a top five either. It seems more of a 6-10 position song to me. I mean, juries have been known to overrate songs that are just ok but those two seem a bit of a reach.
The bookmaker odds look FAR too much like how juries would vote at Eurovision and not how I’d expect the televote to go.

Bruh 2011 had much more memorable and outstanding songs. 2014 is one of the strongest about variety. I can’t compare these years to this year even tho I think this year is pretty strong

Why’s my Eurovision top 4 from 2020 literally the same as now? In 2020 it was:
1. Portugal
2. Bulgaria
3. Greece
4. Switzerland
Now it’s:
1. Spain
2. Bulgaria
3. Greece
4. Switzerland.

I can see Malta win the Jury vote, maybe even by quite some margin, the jury will love Destiny’s vocals and respect the song. Its questionable however how it will do in the televote given Malta’s history with the televote.

I still think it’s possible this could still win even if it doesn’t smash the televote. This year seems really divided with some songs that seem like they will do well mainly with jury (Switzerland, Sweden, maybe Bulgaria) and then some songs will likely mainly do well with televote (San Marino, Italy, Finland, Lithuania, Iceland). I think Malta has the chance to snatch the crown by doing fair enough with the televote and doing great with the jury if the year remains split.

Honestly PP, don’t be offended, but you predict the favorite to be 3rd all the years and Sweden to win too… it’s time for a change of prediction, it is evident

Sorry bud. Sweden will likely do well with jury but they are almost certainly not going to do well with televote. (As has been their trend these past few years)

Switzerland, Malta, Bulgaria, Italy, Iceland overrated.
I don t see Malta, Bulgaria in TOP 3 in final. Switzerland in TOP 2 in final.
Italy in TOP 5 in final.
Sweden will be higher than odds put Sweden.

Sweden will most likely be 7th. I can see a North Macedonia 2019 scenario where Sweden wins the jury, but does horrible with the televote.

Well you dont know that. Sweden is the only one in the top where you know know now it will turn out on the stage. The others have nice and sometimes interventions songs but we dont know they will transform to the stage. So some of them are wild cards. Especially Malta and Bulgaria. And it is very boring to see the same complaint about Sweden and the televote all of the time. Remember that the oppositie happened not so long ago with Frans. Historically there are serveral examples with such differences with other countries. I think Malta is one… Read more »
