Stefania Last Dance Greece Eurovision 2021

National final season is officially over. And within the next few hours we will know all the songs for Eurovision 2021. But before the last entry drops, let’s check in on the results of our most recent “who is your favourite Eurovision 2021 act so far?” survey. And you have a new number one — Greece’s Stefania.

Cyprus’ Elena Tsagrinou is in third for a second week. “El Diablo” took 1.544 votes or 5.71% of all votes cast. San Marino’s Senhit and Lithuania’s The Roop complete the top five.

Remember who is one of the songwriters, ARCADE group, with Anastasios Ramos one of its members. Be sure that in the future we might see him breaking the continious active record of a country sending only female singers in ESC. Last time Greece sent a Male artist (part of the group Argo) was 5 years ago, in 2016.

I won’t be shocked if he represents us in 2022

Don’t understand all that hate from some people against some countries either because of jealousy or spite because their favourites might not make it high enough.. Let snot forget what happened when Fuego video clip came out, people here were slagging off Elena Fureira that song is generic blah blah blah blah, the betting odds that many of you refer to had her not qualifying and after 18th place.. And the rest is history.. Many congrats to Stefania and her song hope she gets definitely to top 10 and why not win it as well.. And haters will always be… Read more »

Not all of a sudden. I am just saying out that people were really quick to point out that Albina from Croatia posted the last poll on her Instagram story which made her number 1. It’s the same situation this time but with Stefania. Poll is not presenting the real situation well.

To the comments on Greek fans taking over the polls, Greece is in the middle of a political and social crisis right now, with the #metoo movement, police brutality etc. As a huge esc fan, and a part of fanclubs in Greece, we are no more than 200 people that we follow blogs and sites about Esc. So, these 2,4k votes, I am sure and I hope that they are coming from fans that placed Greece in their top10 or higher (the poll allows you to vote more than one). At the end of the day, during the shows these… Read more »

This is not a greek medium so I will continue writing in English. If you are a greek citizen right now, and you are not, to say the least, worried about your future and what may comes, this is your fault. I am not “creating problems” as you mentioned. Sorry to bother your cloud, but now with all the arbitrariness here, merely noone will think of Eurovision and how to promote my entry. That was the point of my comment (no left agenda behind the meanings here) Your personal thought is not something I personally care at all. Have a… Read more »

Such a shame Austria came second to last, it definitely didn’t deserve it. I think it will flop with the televote, but think it could do really well with the juries, don’t think it will be enough to qualify though. And that’s fine, I’m not sure it’s *that* good

All songs are out and nothing screamed “instant winner” to me. I hope we can finally have an unpredictable Eurovision night, with a bunch of entries fighting for the trophy. The bookers will desperately try to reduce the competition to 2 or 3 songs, but I hope the audience doesn’t buy this narrative.

I would add other 2 factors. The first one is that we probably won’t have an audience or have a very reduced one and the national finals weren’t very clear about how this would affect the mood of some entries when performed in Eurovision. Maybe nothing will change, maybe some will seem out of place. And the second is that with maby artists selected a long time ago, I expect that many songs were developed along with the staging, which only reinforces the impression we won’t know anything for sure until the rehearsals. I’m excited about a few entries and… Read more »

If San Marino will compete with Flo Rida, they will win. It would be absolutely cool winner and unforgotable ESC moment. Great song by famous rapper for microstate. I cant see any other strong winner there. I love Finland but they wont have so huge support. Switzerland was better last year. Lithuania, Iceland and Bulgaria are not so strong this year. Russia has different act (and its great too, but not for winning). It will be interesting. And we have many different and good songs, it will be great edition. Lets hope with strong winner!

Now that all the songs are out, I can categorize them as such:

1. Songs I have fallen in love with: Ukraine, Norway, Italy, Azerbaijan, Denmark, San Marino, Finland, Switzerland, Poland, Georgia

2. Songs which I very much like and would be happy with them winning: Romania, Ireland, Australia, Greece, UK, Russia, Cyprus, Estonia, Bulgaria, North Macedonia

3. Songs which are festering and on which I haven’t made my mind up: Moldova, Iceland, Netherlands, Latvia, Lithuania, Sweden, Czechia, Austria, Serbia, Belgium, Slovenia

4. Songs which just don’t do it for me: France, Malta, Spain, Israel, Croatia, Albania, Portugal, (Belarus), Germany

Well, here’s how I feel it will go down. Switzerland will win ESC 2021, unless the staging is absolute TRASH I cannot see any country except Malta knocking Gjon off the path to victory, which includes winning the Jury in the semi and grand finals. The top 10 will go as follows. Malta San Marino Greece Russia Finland United Kingdom Lithuania Sweden Cyprus Alternates will include: Moldova Iceland France Ukraine Serbia Albania Germany or Spain will finish last. Most likely Spain, I cannot see any form of staging saving that song in any capacity. Do not understand the hype of… Read more »

Gjon’s Tears is #2 in the poll with a ballad. How does that fit with your view?

To say your taste is more real life is a form of confirmation bias. Everyone has their own real life, neither more nor less. ESC fans are part of real life, even if they’re also a bubble and an echo chamber. I agree with you, though, that the nature of being a fan can make you so close to the subject that you lose perspective…which is also partly why some ESC fans are susceptible to PED.

I know who is going to win guys, I saw the future. HAHA odds placing Gjon Tears first, a French song will never win Eurovision. Welcome to Vilnius 2022 guys, The Roop is winning this year. A catchy song, a catchy dance, a performance that is completely different to what has been last year. While other countries like Iceland, Switzerland, Bulgaria went the way of copying the 2020 entry, The Roop created something different. I already see juries giving Lithuania a solid 200 points and televoters 250. Now every conspiracy theorist go back to sleep, your Victoria or Chicken Goujon… Read more »

Fair enough. On that, I apologise too.

Personally I like Albania’s entry. The only reason it went further down is purely because I predicted had Azerbaijan and Malta both been in the poll (purely the poll here), they would roundabout have the same amount of fans as their acts had in 2020 and I think the votes would have reflected that.

For clarification though, this poll is way off what I would personally predict, I was just having a little fun with what the article was about.

Why do my tops always get the most downvotes lol? Is it because of Finland or what?

It seems like an exciting year for countries that haven’t been top 5 recently!

Triton isn’t really Neptune’s moon. It is a rogue moon that got caught in Neptune’s gravity. Ooo I sense an idea for a song.

As usual voting for other countries like more than 1000 non Croats vote for Croatia!

For those who are complaining about Stefania, just to clarify that Stefania has a strong Dutch fanbase voting for her massively. I guess that’s why she is in the first place.

Albina did the same thing with her fans, thus why Croatia was on top for so long

Well then probably the results are not very accurate. Removing Greece from the top we will get the following:

1. Swiss
2. Cyprus
3. San Marino
4. Lithuania
5. Romania

I wonder how many people does Eurovision attract outside of Eurofans on youtube and wiwi and how accurate these results are.

Even though Greece won’t be in the top 5 this year nor is Last Chance my favorite, Stefania deserves to win the poll of this week. Last Dance is a good entry no matter how high it will end (Even if it somehow ends up being last).

I’m glad Switzerland is runner up in this poll, Gjon’s Tears is my favorite.

As how I see it, Elena Tsagrinou is definitely this year’s female version of Imri Ziv or Hovig.

Interesting results, especially when we compare them to the odds. Some may not agree but I feel that we do not have a clear winner this year. It seems to me that some entries are being completely overlooked by the fandom and can surprise us on stage.

Pains me to say , since none of these I like, but I think it is going to be between Swiss, France, San Marino and Cyprus.

and now that we know Malta, I think Malta will be a contender as well. Although I actually like all the songs you just listed, except Switzerland’s
