The Baltic nations — Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania — all have returning artists for Eurovision 2021 in the form of Uku Suviste, Samanta Tīna and The Roop. Whilst Estonia and Lithuania held their respective national finals again, Latvia opted to internally select Samanta. But all three have bigger and bolder songs than last year. However, we want to know who your favourite Baltic entry is!

Estonia: Uku Suviste – “The Lucky One”
Estonia’s Uku Suviste absolutely dominated the competition in Eesti Lual 2021 to ensure his place back in Eurovision for 2021. He will be singing the Dream Team penned “The Lucky One”. His entry for 2021 is markedly more up-tempo and contemporary than his 2020 track. Could this change bring him success on his trip to Rotterdam?
Latvia: Samanta Tīna – “The Moon is Rising”
Returning for Latvia, we have performance-slayer Samanta Tīna who’s high energy nature brings her songs to life. Her entry Rotterdam is “The Moon Is Rising” — again an Aminata co-penned feminist anthem. She pulls off the bold sound with powerful vocals, and a bassline we can’t get enough of. Her video is an experience, in the best possible way. Will Samanta bring that hype to Eurovision?
Lithuania: The Roop – “Discoteque”
Finally, of course, we have The Roop for Lithuania. The indie trio bring their brand of zany pop that we cannot stop dancing to. Their entry for this year “Discoteque” is rather in fitting with the world in 2021. The track is about dancing alone in your house. Giving us lockdown chic, The Roop show us we can still have a good time! And the best news is there’s an awesome dance to go with it too, much like with “On Fire” from 2020.

Uku for sure. I like The Roop and Samatha, but i wish they had better songs. I prefer their entries from last year.

Lithuania kind of by default. But it’s far from my favourite. Estonia is a snooze like last year, and Latvia is verging on unlistenable….like last year.
My favourite is Lithuania. Latvia is one track I’m still not settled on how I feel about it, but it’s bold and different and I appreciate that. Estonia is bland but an improvement on last year. I think Lithuania is definitely qualifying, I don’t think it’s going to do fantastically with the Juries, whereas I think On Fire would fared better. In the final I’m predicting 10-15, maybe top ten. One year went by and the Baltics are still in the same place in my book. Lithuania is one of my favorites as it already happened in 2020, I appreciate the personality and fierceness of the Latvian entry (and again I don’t know exactly how to rank it) and the Estonian one is too safe to my taste, though there’s clear improvement this time.

Weakest year for Baltics. I guess Lithuania is the best, but still most for the show, not for the song.

In my opinion 2013 was better.
Estonia 2013 was so beautiful: pure and sincere! Much better than all the baltics this year. Latvia was nice, not among my favorites, but still much better than this year for me.

Estonia is underrated this year.
Europe, please vote for Estonia and Uku in semi-final 2. He has a better song than “What love is” last year. Uku Suviste’s name means “don’t sleep on talent” in a language I made up.
How have I ended up voting Uku for this prize? I must admit this outcome has taken me completely by surprise. The results have completely reversed on last year. Latvia was first, Lithuania second and Estonia third and now Estonia and Latvia have swapped places. That is not to say that I absolutely love Uku’s effort, nor that I hate Samanta’s effort. Lithuania of course! They’re in my top 5 and I wish them a podium but it will be complicated with Malta, Italy and Switzerland. Not impossible though.
Samanta Tina must give everything she has if she wants to go to the final (and I’d love to see it). Uku is already a NQ for me. Nothing interestingin his music or even in the lyrics.

This year, I have no doubts about it – It’s Lithuania by far! On Fire is such a good song. Both accessible and quirky. Their charisma is totally in-sync with the song.
Estonia is safe and predictable. But to give credit where credits due, the lyrics aren’t bad this time and the male initiative to break-up a toxic relationship is something slightly less talked about.
Latvia is very original, but I’m not sure that this is for me. One thing is not being conventional, the other is completely missing a structure. Still, it’s so daring that it will have fans.

Lithuania has their own sound and yes if you mean by sticking to their style is predictable, then yes it is predictable. Or if you mean that they once again managed to come up with a grrat entry, yes then that was also predictable. There has been nothing else in Eurovision before as “Discoteque” which makes it unique. it was very much a classical pop fusion. violins were the main instrument, and the band literally has symphony in their name.

Lithuania, amazing. Estonia, very good. Latvia, not too bad. I think it is a good year for the Baltics.
I believe that the bookies are wrong to let Lithuania gradually slip in the estimations. They still are in contention to win the whole thing.
Their song is memorable, the staging is striking, and the delivery is convincing. Lithuania also benefit from diaspora voting.

Norway gives almost every year 12p to Lithuania. Sweden and Denmark around 6-7 points.
Georgia, Germany, Malta, Italy, sometimes Cyprus, sometimes Poland, sometimes Belarus, here and there Russia and Ukraine. And that’s not counting for countries without huge Lithuanian minorities that’ll break rank to vote for them (aka how any Eurovision song gets anywhere).
Sounded odd to me and a quick google search confirms that Denmark definitely is not giving that many points to Lithiania every year. In fact, many years we apparently gave 0 points (in 2018, 2017, 2012, 2011, 2008, 2007, 2005, 2004, 2001 & 1999) and most others (with the exception being “I’ve been waiting for this night”) not very many either. It seems that about 10-15.000 Lithuanians are living in Denmark (depending on where you look it up). That’s out of 5.800.000 people.
