Senhit drops some clues about her staging in Rotterdam

Interviewed by Mi-Tomorrow, San Marino’s Senhit revealed a few titbits about her staging in Rotterdam: “My performance will definitely be very colourful, you can’t help but dance thanks to Luca Tommassini, the creative director of the project, the mastermind of the whole scenographic part”. The Italo-Eritrean singer who will represent San Marino with her banger “Adrenalina” added: “We are preparing a choreography that we hope will go viral. We’ll try to create a lot of spectacle, we really want to have fun and make people have fun”. (Cristian)

Albina goes back to basics with live performance of “Tick-Tock”

Croatia’s singer Albina has delivered another live performance of her Eurovision song. She performed “Tick-Tick” on the Croatian music show Poprock.hr. While Albina’s last live performance of “Tick-Tock” was an elegant affair with a live orchestra, this time she got back to basics with a live band. The band included a violin player who added plenty of that disco sound that made the studio version of the song such a hit with fans. (Robyn)

The Roop clean up at Lithuanian Music Awards

Go_A perform “Шум” on Lip Sync Battle Ukraine

Go_A delivered a live performance of “Шум” on the Ukraine edition of the hit entertainment show Lip Sync Battle. And yes, it was the original version of “Шум”, not the reworked “SHUM” that they will perform at Eurovision in May, though it had been cut down to a compact dance track. The band took to the stage in hazmat suits and brought a similar look to the original music video for the song. (Robyn)

Blas Cantó follows Miki’s fitness advice

Back in January, Spain’s Eurovision 2019 star Miki revealed to Men’s Health Spain that he’d given Spain’s 2020 artist Blas Cantó some important advice for Eurovision: He needs to work out to deliver an energetic performance. He said it would also help put Blas in the right mind space, releasing tension so he can “be more focused” to perform better on stage. And it would seem that Blas is following his advice. On Saturday the “Voy a quedarme” singer posted this snap of himself in a boxing pose with his personal trainer @23toptraining. Looks like Blas is ready to deliver in Rotterdam this May! (William)

Eden Alene practises her whistle notes

The revamped version of “Set Me Free” has delighted fans of Eden Alene’s vocal range, as the song allows her to sing in the whistle register, on course to deliver the highest ever note at Eurovision. But a girl’s got to stay in top form in order to deliver. Eden shared a practise session while she visited Ein Gedi, a scenic reserve near the Dead Sea. (Robyn)

Elena Tsagarinou does OK! photoshoot

Cyprus’ “El Diablo” songstress graced the pages of the latest edition of Ok! Magazine Greece. Elena donned a variety of fashionable looks, ranging from a casual blue hoody paired with a gigantic pink skirt to some more glamorous evening wear, befitting of the popstar that she is.

Jendrik takes fans behind the scenes of his live-on-tape shoot in Lithuania

While several acts flew to Bulgaria to film their live-on-tape performances, Germany’s Jendrik headed to Lithuania. Filming wrapped up some time back, but the “I Don’t Feel Hate” singer is only getting round to sharing his Baltic adventure now. Here’s part one of his trip. You can watch part two on his Instagram.

Hera Björk dances to “10 Years” on the ski slopes

Eurovision 2010 singer Hera Björk has become the latest song contest icon to come out in support of one of the 2021 cast. She and a “fierce and fabulous female forces of nature flocked to the mountains to dance, wearing only their superpower ski outfits while waiting for volcanos to errupt and the Eurovison Song Contest to start….and ICELAND TO SLAY in the epic year of 2021”. The tribute video to Daði og Gagnamagnið was recorded before the latest round of COVID-19 restrictions were introduced on the island.

Additional contributions from William, Robyn and Cristian.

What do you think of Eden’s vocal practice? Are you living for Albina’s live performances? Let us know in the comments.

OMG EDEN’S LIVE WHISTLES ARE EVERYTHINGGGG

As someone that can produce whistle notes in singing, I’m still scared for Eden. You can’t control whistle notes the same way you can control your voice in other registers. She has to practice a lot, but even then it doesn’t guarantee the whistle notes will come out sounding pleasantly in the semi final.

I’ve been following Eden from 2017 when she first participated (and won) the Israeli X factor in 2017.
If anyone can dance, sing AND hit those whistle notes, it’s her.
Plus, she’s supper competitive, she’ll practice the whole package until she nails every inch of it.

I’m not worried at all. Every year she seems to break another limit. Her vocal cords are made out of magic powder or something.

Give her a year or two I’m sure she’ll reach Maria’s level in her peak days.

Dahling, no one can touch Mariah when it comes to whistles. Eden can definitely be as Good as Ariana is at whisteling, But Mariah is at a league of her own. Her whistles are effortless and she could even pronounce words in that register. No one can touch that, i’m sorry.

I think you’re overracting. re-watch her “emotions” performance from MTV unplugged. She’s legendery, but even she started with more “basic” whistle notes.

In this performance she’s better than Eden, but the gap is not huge.

i’m sorry, but you’re delusional. I like Eden, she’s super talented, impressive talent, but don’t even try to compare her to Mariah. She’s the master of this range, she plays with notes in that range effortlessly. Eden hits those notes great (which is super impressive in itself, but it’s more like what Ariana does). Mariah can SPEAK in that register. You won’t win this argument. Even in the performance you posted Mariah showed wayyy more control and depth.

Albina has had more live performances of her ESC entry than all other artists combined. 😀 I appreciate that! I’m hungry for live performances and she’s the only one keeping me fed. 😀 😀
