Duncan Laurence and FLETCHER will perform "Arcade" live on The Ellen DeGeneres Show

The reigning Eurovision champion is killing it across the Atlantic. After giving “Arcade” its US TV debut last week, The Netherlands‘ own Duncan Laurence has landed himself another TV gig — and it’s a big one. On Tuesday 6 April, he’ll perform “Arcade” on the hit American talk show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

Together with FLETCHER, he’ll sing the duet version of his Eurovision 2019 winning track.

Duncan Laurence and FLETCHER to sing “Arcade” on Ellen

The Dutch star will appear on Ellen’s long-running daytime talk show on Tuesday 6 April.

The Ellen DeGeneres Show receives an average viewership of 1.5 million per episode, The New York Times reports. Although that’s down from last year’s ratings, it’s still a big deal. Duncan and FLETCHER will appear on TV screens in homes all over the United States. This will be a brilliant opportunity for Duncan to extend his fanbase across the pond even further.

This marks Duncan’s second US TV appearance within the space of two weeks. Last week, the Dutch singer also performed “Arcade” live on NBC’s TODAY show. Duncan’s success across the pond comes after his Eurovision winning track — originally released in 2019 — went viral on TikTok late last year and subsequently found its way into the US charts.

The show on 6 April will also include interviews with superstar actress Lupita Nyong’o and NBA player Jeremy Lin.

Duncan Laurence and FLETCHER

The current crystal microphone holder Duncan Laurence toppled the competition at Eurovision 2019 and brought The Netherlands their fifth song contest victory. His track “Arcade” ranked third with the juries and second in the televote, for a first-place finish overall — beating out Italy’s Mahmood by a slim margin of 26 points.

Since winning Eurovision, Duncan has gone on to enjoy continued success with his music career. In May 2020, he launched his debut EP Worlds on Fire. Then in November 2020, he released a full-length album titled Small Town Boy, named after the lyrics of “Arcade”. The record includes Duncan’s Eurovision winning track, as well as follow-up singles “Love Don’t Hate It” and “Feel Something” — a collaboration with Armin van Buuren.

FLETCHER — born Cari Elise Fletcher — is an American singer-songwriter. Her first stint with fame came in 2011, when she competed on the debut season of The X Factor USA as part of girl group Lakoda Rayne. Since then, she’s gone on to have a successful solo career. In 2019, her single “Undrunk” made its way onto Spotify’s viral chart. FLETCHER released her third solo EP The S(ex) Tapes in September 2020.

Duncan Laurence and FLETCHER’s performance of “Arcade” on The Ellen DeGeneres show will air on Tuesday 6 April.

Ellen isn’t as big as she used to be. A lot of Americans want nothing to do with her now since a lot of us have learned that she has a horrible personality off screen. Good luck to Duncan though.

It’ll be interesting to hear of his experience with Ellen. Anybody thats not already a household name in the US seem to have had a bad experience with her.

Good luck Duncan. You deserve the success and the exposure!!!

Clearly, the ones who clicked the down mark are oblivious to what’s been going on in the States. Let THIS American explain,…

Ellen has lost viewers at a high rate because we have learned the truth about her. She’s not nice to people, whether it’s guests (just ask Nikki of NIKKITUTORIALS), her own staff, or fans. She’s not humble. She’s a snob. Her game show is all about humiliation. Americans are fed up with her. Professionals in the industry even spoke up about her.

Eurovision fans, don’t get suckered into her phoniness that she tells you.

Ellen is not on NBC in every city. Her show is syndicated, so it appears on different networks in various cities. For example, she is on the CBS station in Utah,

Now that I think about it—it’s good that Eurovision was cancelled last year. At least whoever wins won’t get overshadowed by Duncan Laurence’s sudden rise.
