OGAE Poll 2021: Bulgaria awards 12 points to Italy

The Eurovision fan prediction poll results continue to pour in. The fifth club to reveal their votes in the OGAE Poll 2021 is OGAE Bulgaria, who award their douze points to Italy’s Måneskin — the first set of top marks for “Zitti E Buoni”.

The club of 18 Bulgarian voters award ten points to Switzerland’s Gjon’s Tears. Another high mark for “Tout l’univers” sees Gjon extend his lead. Meanwhile, eight points goes to France’s Barbara Pravi — who currently sits in fourth place overall with “Voilà”.

Further down the scoreboard, Serbia and Russia picked up their first points of the season.

Votes from OGAE Bulgaria

  • Italy — 12 points
  • Switzerland — 10 points
  • France — 8 points
  • Cyprus — 7 points
  • Malta — 6 points
  • San Marino — 5 points
  • Serbia — 4 points
  • Azerbaijan — 3 points
  • Finland — 2 points
  • Russia — 1 point

OGAE Poll 2021 leaderboard — 17 April

With OGAE Bulgaria’s votes, Switzerland remains ahead of the competition. However, Malta’s Destiny is up one position to second place, while Lithuania’s The Roop slip down to third. Rounding out the top five is France in fourth and Cyprus in fifth.

So far, 19 countries have received points, leaving 20 countries on zero points. But in these early days with many more OGAE clubs yet to deliver their points, it’s still all to play for!

1. Switzerland — 54 points

2. Malta — 39 points

3. Lithuania — 34 points

4. France — 29 points

5. Cyprus — 25 points

6. San Marino — 24 points

7.  Italy — 18 points

(=) Sweden — 18 points

9. Azerbaijan — 10 points

10. Finland — 8 points

(=) Ukraine — 8 points

12. Iceland — 5 points

13. Estonia — 4 points

(=) Serbia — 4 points

15. Croatia — 3 points

16. Romania — 2 points

(=) Greece — 2 points

(=) Israel — 2 points

19. Russia — 1 point

Countries that are not listed are yet to receive points from any voting clubs.

Between now and Sunday 2 May, half of the groups voting in the OGAE Poll 2021 will reveal their points one by one. Then, the remaining groups will announce their points at the same time on Friday 7 May in a grand final video spectacle.

What do you think? Will Switzerland maintain its lead? Who will win the OGAE Poll 2021? Let us know in the comments below.

Many of these OGAE clubs would need to get new people joining in, as there are quite a few clubs that are under 20 members. If these get smaller and smaller, they’ll eventually go under the “Rest of the world” -club.

Anyway, once again: these results are from 18 people, so the actual votes in Eurovision might be somewhat different.

This would only be indicative if they voted on 26 entrants. With this poll you have votes for entrants that won’t ever compete against each other (not everyone is going to make the grand final)

And if they voted only for their favourites . Here they give 4 points to their 7th favourite. Never seen a person vote for their 7th favourite in the contest

That’s a huge fall from grace for Dadi so far. Despite all the complaints about ’10 Years’, I thought there’d still be massive love for him out there.

I believe there is, it’s just that people can only give a certain amount of points. For example, I’ve seen my favourite songs on reaction videos fall just outside top 10. People saying they loved particular songs, but just loved others a bit more.

Why would there still be hype around a way worse song? It would be fake.

If some OGAE members hate ”10 years” it doesn’t mean that the other millions will hate on it. There are plenty of examples that OGAE voting is totally different from the Eurovision voting. Also, they are voting based on studio versions, not based on live performances

I doubt he knows who Vitas even is tbh. Lithuania hates Russian artists, why would he want to be like someone they despise. They completely banned Kirkorov just recently. You’re making no sense here, (probably) Russian guy.

The songs have similarities. Where is an ethnic song from the north…so then to understand the vote ? When we talk about generic pop songs…then the vote is based on neighborhood criteria. The same is happening for east and balkans countries.

Oh no I’m turning into one of those people who complain about other people complaining but every one of these OGAE articles are filled with comments saying the results are unreliable or the taste of the voters is trash etc. But if you “don’t care” or think the OGAE polls are unnecessary then why do you read the articles? And more importantly why waste your time by commenting these polls are stupid? If they don’t mean anything then why get so angry? For me it wouldn’t be eurovision if at least 50% of the top 10 most popular songs weren’t… Read more »

Where can I place my bets on Italy beating Malta in the televote by a mile? Italy’s way more impactful and has insane staging potential. I hope I won’t have to eat my words come May, lol

Easy bet, Malta is 100% fake hype. 4.1 M Youtube views and only 39K likes lmao. I remember Arcade was something more than 100K likes when it had 4M in 2019. Croatia has even more likes 40K with 2.3 Millions views. So it’s easy to say Malta has bought something like 2 millions views and placing high amounts of bets to increase their odds. Malta is not even in the top 5 most bet songs lol.

If you said only that Malta would flop in televoters I agree. About Italy beating Malta by a big margin I’m not so sure. Well, their song alongside Russia and Serbia are the most viewed actually, but those views are mostly from Italians. So I don’t know how much people love powerful songs like that. For example, I have this in my top 10 currently cause it’s lit

It’s a rock song in Italian. It’s not a safe choice. Either will flop or it will go to the top.
It’s an open year without a clear favourite, so the staging will define everything. (that’s how Azerbaijan won in 2011)!

Like, I feel like I’m going crazy, because I’ve agreed with most of the OGAE voting this year. Thing is, I can’t use any of these as a backup just in case for Second Opinion because we just announced our qualifiers and a song that’s been doing well here so far didn’t actually make our final.

This isn’t a spoiler because we revealed our qualifiers on Thursday: Cyprus didn’t make the cut, believe it or not. It was a super-close voting, and all but two songs in the first semi didn’t get at least one top mark. Cyprus I believe finished 11th, with only a few points separating it from Lithuania in 10th (yes, Lithuania only finished 10th…it was polarizing as a magnet for the countries that voted in the first semi, but I have no doubt it’ll kill in the final.)

Lithuania borderline and Cyprus out would be really good for me in the real contest and actually I think it’s not that unlikley, maybe Lithuania will be higher, yes, but not as much as people think and Cyprus may be the surprising NQ

Belgium and Norway were the only songs in the first semi that didn’t get at least one top score. I was really sad Belgium and Ireland didn’t make it – I’d prefer them over Slovenia and Azerbaijan personally.

I’d also like for Israel to do that well – I updated the playlist our jurors were using with the revamp, and both pre- and post-revamp it scored very very well.

The second semi final results are incredibly tasteful imo, I would only change Estonia with Georgia, while in the first semi I would change Malta, Lithuania, Australia and Azerbaijan with Belgium (my winner of the semi), Norway, North Macedonia and Ireland

Well, interesting results, but I feel that many ballads are reaching the final from nowhere, like Slovenia, Portugal and Estonia. Even though they are not bad songs I really hope they don’t reach the finals, cause otherwise we gonna lose some good bops (actually, only Poland, Czech Republic and Denmark got few points)

I would like Portugal to make it, personally, and I was delighted that they did way better than I expected. I think so far this is a cautionary tale: if you think only bops are going to make it, you’re in for a shock. (And the jurors are a mix of music professionals and Eurofans so it’s pretty 50-50).

Yeah that makes sense. I expect at least one bop from each semi to flop (mostly Ireland and Australia, even though now I feel that Azerbaijani song isn’t that impactful so who knows, from the second semi 100% Latvia and Poland, they might even be joined by Czech Republic or Moldova)

Having Turkish diaspora behind doesn’t mean that those will vote for any song from Azerbaijan. If it’s a good song, it will take points, if not, it won’t. And tbh, Mata Hari has a catchy beat with fake Turkish Elements (so that they say that the song is an ethno bob, I cannot put the song in the same category with Dum Tek Tek or Always), so I don’t expect diaspora will support it (unless they like the song a lot). Even in 2019, Chingiz got a good result not because of the diaspora, but because he had a good… Read more »

Azerbaijan did way better in 2019 than they usually do with Western countries. Takes a special kind of Eastern entry to get really good scores from countries like the UK and Sweden (they would’ve gotten the UK’s 12 in the semi under the old system!)

i know that this has probably been said a million times before but damn it its relevant. there is no reason to follow or use OGAE voting as a way to predict the contest result, as there is no diversity within the groups and aren’t accurate to jury results either as they are not music industry professionals but just fans
