OGAE Poll 2021: North Macedonia awards 12 points to San Marino

The annual Eurovision fan prediction poll is well underway. The next club to deliver their votes in the OGAE Poll 2021 is OGAE North Macedonia, who award their douze points to San Marino. This is the first set of top marks for Senhit and Flo Rida. Also, “Adrenalina” remains as one of the few songs to have received points from every OGAE club voting thus far.

The club of 20 voters awarded ten points to Switzerland’s Gjon’s Tears. “Tout l’univers” is still at the top of the leaderboard”, also with points from every club so far. Meanwhile, eight points go to Malta’s Destiny — who remains the bookies’ favourite, again with points from all OGAE clubs to date.

Votes from OGAE North Macedonia

  • San Marino — 12 points
  • Switzerland — 10 points
  • Malta — 8 points
  • Cyprus — 7 points
  • France — 6 points
  • Azerbaijan — 5 points
  • Serbia — 4 points
  • Lithuania — 3 points
  • Italy — 2 points
  • Greece — 1 point

OGAE Poll 2021 leaderboard — 20 April

With OGAE North Macedonia’s votes, Switzerland remains in the lead. Gjon’s Tears sits 23 points ahead of his closest competition, with Malta and France are tied for second place on 55 points each. Lithuania and San Marino round out the top five. As it stands, 18 countries are still on zero points. But there are still 34 more clubs yet to deliver their points, so anything could change.

1. Switzerland — 78 points

2. Malta — 55 points

(=) France — 55 points

4. Lithuania — 52 points

5. San Marino — 49 points

6. Cyprus — 40 points

7. Italy — 26 points

8. Sweden — 21 points

9. Azerbaijan — 15 points

10. Croatia — 13 points

11. Ukraine — 10 points

12. Iceland — 9 points

13. Finland — 8 points

(=) Serbia — 8 points

15. Romania — 7 points

16. Greece — 5 points

(=) Denmark — 5 points

18. Estonia — 4 points

19. Israel — 2 points

20. Norway — 1 point

(=) Russia — 1 point

Countries that are not listed are yet to receive points from any voting clubs.

Between now and Sunday 2 May, half of the groups voting in the OGAE Poll 2021 will reveal their points one by one. Then, the remaining groups will announce their points at the same time on Friday 7 May in a grand final video spectacle.

What do you think? Will anybody overtake Switzerland? Who will win the OGAE Poll 2021? Sound off in the comments below.

I sure hope that people are not going to be drunk in May on big saturday night to waste their votes on boring erotic songs like Cyprus entry. People suffered a lot and still suffering from Covid-19. Does song like Cyprus entry apply! ofcourse not. Sorry Cyprus your 2004 entry is what would have been better option for this year in respond to Covid. People don’t need to foolishly go with erotic songs like that. We need songs with honest message based on real life whats going on around us..not copy and paste that are plastics . Best of luck… Read more »

You don’t need to unfairly trash the bop songs to make the ballads — except ‘Zitti e buoni’ — sound better. People will choose who the song they want to win. They won’t care whether that song is specifically a slow song or a dancing one. They will choose the one that will unite the most and be liked by the most people. You should wish a good luck to everyone.

Azerbaijan getting votes is surprising, even the video of all of the songs this year, on the official Eurovision channel has her clip cut where she only sings “Mata Hari” and the way she pronounces it, it’s like “Mazaa haarii”. There’s many better songs to score than that. Still waiting for Belgium to get points..

Bulgaria song is one of these that are better live than as a studio i think. Look what happened with Portugal 2017 and Russia 2019. Not that many people like them as a studio version, but they elevated with the live perormance. I think Viktoria can create a moment with good staging and performance and create a moment. She still can end up with very good result. Look also at Austria 2018 and N. Macedonia 2019, no one thought they would win the jury votes and be in top 10.

Victoria is still zero points and I can’t understand what people liked so much in Gjon’s song. I think his song last year was much better.

Victoria, Benny Cristo and Hooverphonic still zero points.. no words.. and San Marino 5th, when in reality if sent by any other country it would struggle to get any points since it’s just a basic bop that would finish 5th in a Melfest semi haha.

Since Australia is “out” do we need to accept the sad fact that Flo Rida will probably not make it either? Or does US have more relaxed situation now when the vaccination programme is doing so well?

Well australia’s covid rules are along with new zealand the most strict on earth so flo rida has a totally different situation and it isn’t certain.

It won’t be easy for Victoria this year. Growing Up Is Getting Old has grown on me, but I can see why a lot of people can’t connect with it. A lot of people are still disappointed that she didn’t go with Imaginary Friend or Ugly Cry. Personally, I would have preferred Ugly Cry as well, and I do think that she would have had better chances with it, but it is what it is. I hope the best for all of the artists, but as for now, I wouldn’t be that much surprised if Bulgaria doesn’t advance to the… Read more »

Staging factor is one of the reasons why Growing Up is Getting Old was selected. It was a mutual decision between her and the choreagrapher.

Despite all that, I do agree she will land in mids for televote. Expecting a similar result as Aminata and Kate Miller Heidke.

VICTORIA channel – 604 000 (Official Video) and 100 000 (Lyric Video)

I’m not understanding the sudden dislike for Bulgaria on here. It’s like everyone decided in unison to hate it, every positive comment downvoted etc.
It’s an incredibly strong entry and so well produced. Fans are writing it off but I think in May, y’all will be surprised.

I know you won’t mind my comment that much but I just wanted to reply that the same thing is happening for every current favourite actually. Gjon, Destiny, Barbara, Senhit, Måneskin or Elena. Victoria isn’t an isolated case. And that’s what I’m fighting on the previous articles. I don’t like Gjon song that much but I defended it when it was criticized and compared to ‘Arcade’. Same thing with Victoria, whose song is one of my favourites too. I defended it on the article ‘Bulgaria 2020 vs 2021’.

Maybe they don’t consider it a predictor, but too many fans and bookies do, so for all intents and purposes there’s no other way to look at it. And my top-3 are Lithuania, France, and San Marino. Almost positive two or more of them are at least finishing top ten.

No I don’t think the bookies take in account the ogae poll results, if it was the case why Bulgaria Italy and Sweden are still very high in the odds ranking, and San Marino, Cyprus still low and out the top 10? The ogae poll is not enough accurate and relevant for the bookmakers they use others parameters to make their odds.

Just for remind. OGAE is internet. Every Eurofan knows that there is a huge difference between Internet and reality. If I came in this comment section in 2019 saying ” Serhat will finish 10th for the televote in the Grand Final while Portugal will stay in SF”, no one would have believed me. Just wait and see 🙂

Yeah, you’re right. But when N. Macedonia gives points to Greece is as shocking as when Turkey and Greece exchanged points (Turkey has even given 12 pts in Helena Paparizou, a song that Turkish people still hear and Greece gave 7 points to Sertab, something that is not usual for Greeks to do)

I don’t know why people are this upset about Bulgaria, specifically. I like it too, but not everyone has to like what you like. A bunch of my favorites still haven’t scored (Netherlands, Belgium, Portugal, Ireland, Czech Republic, United Kingdom) but that’s OK! Maybe they will, maybe they won’t, but I like them and that’s what matters.

To everyone that feels sad for their countries not receiving any points, or they received very few: The OGAE Results do not match the actual results. There are like 10-30 people on every fan club who say their favourites. But there are much more people voting on May. Even if a song might be a fan-favourite, if it’s supporters do not vote (because they might even be concerned for the voting costs) and some viewers love the performance of another country and head to vote them, the other one will get many points

The OGAE poll has successfully predicted the winner in two out of every three contests since 2006. Its winner has ended up in top 3 nearly every year. So not to be lightly dismissed.

yeah, but for some reason, both countries usually give each other a lot of points if you look at past votings. But yeah, this year might be different, just like Azerbaijan might not give Russia points due to them being an arms supplier to Armenia (AZ and RU usually vote a lot for each other)

notyourtoy

Wow actually North Macedonia voting is one of the most genuine and objective till now. I would never expect from that OGAE to give that few points to Serbia (while they don’t deserve more points actually based on the song) and to give points to Cyprus and especially Greece (countries that are ” the biggest rivals” of them). So I give them my full respects

Yeah, actually the juries know better they job. Even in 2016,2017 and 2018 they didn’t fully back up Serbia. But the televoters almost every year give the 12 points to Serbia in ex Yugoslav countries (I also think in 2019, N. Macedonian televoters gave the 12 points in Jonida if I’m not wrong)

Quite simple really: she bored the fans(Ogae members are also fans) so much with her funeral songs that she lost all support she had last year. 6 variations of the same song was too much.
But there’s still hope if you are a fan. Come the final night, if she’s good live and has an amazing staging she could challenge Switzerland for the ballad vote.
